Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

Morning everyone -

Thanks for re posting that advice on MS Cals. I remember rerading it before but I would never have found it amongst the old messages! I know what you mean about just eating one mouthful and suddenly the rest is appealling. Did that last night.

MS (as a 1st timer) really is the oddest thing- like feeling so hungry/ empty that it feels that there is nothing inside, feeling bloated and sick all at once.

Think I will put some crackers by the bed!

auntyspan · 29/07/2008 09:18

Morning ladies

I tried sea bands last night and this morning and I think they might be working. I'm tired and grumpy (no change there then!) but very little sickness so thanks for the tip!

Hope everyone is OK and not too sicky

Anyone out there who hasn't felt sick at all? I've felt tired and sore boobs but no other symptoms.

SpookyMadMummy · 29/07/2008 09:55

Tiredness and sore boobs but no sickness here!

Mandy73 · 29/07/2008 11:06

Same here.

Sorry I've not been around - had some brown CM yesterday & today. V scared/realistic - although others have said it can be normal. GP's been great - ringing check up on me twice and arranged a scan at early preg centre at 9.30am tomorrow.

Phew, glad to hear it.

MavisGrind · 29/07/2008 11:41

Hello all

I wish I could say I don't feel like eating anything I am RAVENOUS. Carbs are my new best friend. Mind you I am really active (don't have a car while we're in Oz so walk a minimum of 10k a day) so that's perhaps why.

Mandy good luck with the scan

Barbie - your scan sounds reassuring. I hope your blood tests come back fine.

I didn't have any sickness with ds so I now think ms means it's a girl. We're not going to find out anyway, prefer a suprise.

Hope you're all having a good day. I'm off to raid the cupboards again (will someone remind me of this in about a year when I'm complaining about baby weight?

barbie1 · 29/07/2008 11:48

i have just walked around the super market urging myself to want to eat something but no such luck! im having to force fed myself right now! the back of my throat feels cold, not really metallic anyone had that??? no sickness either!

calsworld · 29/07/2008 12:31

Hi all, I'm not really suffering yet but think its coz its too early, I've been very tired - feel like my blood has been replaced with lead, and my boobs are occasionally a bit sore, and maybe the occasional headache which could easily be un-related of course!

I think I'll be 6 weeks on Thursday and wondering if MS will kick in. It was very bad last time and I had a boy...time will tell!

I don't think we're planning on finding out this time - haven't really talked about it with DH yet, guess I'd better put the question in his head coz he takes ages to decide anything!

HopingCat · 29/07/2008 12:42

Not sure about knowing gender based on MS. I had 10 weeks of MS with my DD. My friend felt bad for months and she had a boy, and felt better in her 2nd pg when she had a girl. She thinks she maybe just managed it better second time round. Another friend of mine had no sickness at all and she had a boy. Think it depends on the woman and the hormone levels.

Many thanks Calsworld for the list of things to help MS. I'd forgotten that I used to get my DH to make me toast in bed every morning! Not sure I'll get away with it now DD is around but I might get some crackers.

HC

HopingCat · 29/07/2008 12:44

Anyone else's DH decided that this baby is definitely a boy or girl because that is what they want it to be? My DH really wants a boy so has decided it must be a boy! He wasn't bothered what we had first time around. Do all men want little boys to play games with?

Thanks Cal for advice on ms. I'm still really struggling and have been diagnosed with hyperemesis. Can't really even talk without wanting to throw up. It's so tough isn't it...

It will be interesting to see what we all end up having - I had a bad time with ds, so maybe we'll have another boy.

Have got my first scan on Friday (will be 8 wks), so looking forward to that.

Anyone else got an early scan? Mandy - good luck tomorrow morning. Hope everything is as it should be.

CaptainKarvol · 29/07/2008 13:13

I just have a second to pop on line - thought I'd say HedgeWitch I felt really mean towards my DS yesterday. I just wanted to sit down quietly, not build more sandcastles and not be tickled again. I think it's because I'm tired, sore boobed and hormonal (and because he's damn hard work), but I think DH suspected me of being a crap mummy when I told him about it.

Mandy fingers crossed for your scan.

and Boobz the first time I really felt sick was this morning. Before that, my only real symptom was sore boobs. I've been tired for years (DS is 2.4 and has only ever slept through the night twice) so I have no idea if I'm pg tired, or just plain knackered, but I certainly didn't feel sick until today (and I'm just over 6 weeks).

CaptainKarvol · 29/07/2008 13:15

oh crikey Monkeybumsmum, how did I miss your post there? Poor you with the hyperemesis. I hope some of Cals tips give you some relief.

winemakesmummyclever · 29/07/2008 13:58

Hi,

Am 10 weeks today and the ms seems to be getting a wee bit better everyday. Food is finally becoming my friend again (tho a bowl of supernoodles isn't exactly cordon bleu, but at least it's staying down). So sorry for those who are really suffering - hang in there, it will get better.

Contacted the ANC about dh not being able to attend scan with me, explained the circumstances and they were really lovely. As a result, I have got my first scan next Weds . Just crossing everything in the hope that all is well - and that there is only one in there! Wonder how may of us will come back from scans with an extra bean in there?

Hedgewitch and Captain - I too feel I have been a really crap mummy lately. When I tell ds I don't feel like rolling around on the lawn, he kisses my belly and says "better now...come on"

grinningbee · 29/07/2008 14:05

Hi everyone,

Mind if I join you?

I got my BFP yesterday after suspecting there was a bean in residence! I had a missed miscarriage in October last year, so I'm obviously nervous as anything. This will be our first dc as long as everything goes to plan!

I've got an early "reassurance" scan in a couple of weeks, so fingers and toes crossed until then.

According to all the due date calendars, bean is due around March 30th.

livismum · 29/07/2008 16:40

Yep I'm def a crap mummy too at the moment, thinking of putting DD in to extra holiday sessions at playschool, or does that make me more crappy? Never thought i would wish to be back at work full time but at least i could hide in the loo!

Havent been to see GP yet cause he was useless last time, have just booked to see MW on 14th aug.

Good luck everyone who has scans and tests coming up fingers crossed for lots of jumping beans xx

SpookyMadMummy · 29/07/2008 20:10

I am definitely being grumpy today. My poor Dh is getting the brunt of it... Its strange, although I was probably like it my other 2 pregnancies, I can't remember...

Got a M/W appointment through for a couple of weeks time for my booking appointment.

MKG · 29/07/2008 20:51

Hi everyone! I had my midwife appointment this morning. Everything looks good. Apparently my vagina is very healthy, because she said it looks nice in there. I go tomorrow for my first trimester bloodwork (after 12 hours of fasting) and my appointment for my 12 week scan is August 26th. It feels very real now.

CaptainKarvol · 29/07/2008 22:05

Hello, grinningbee and welcome

MKG, how strange lovely to be complimented on your vagina!!!

Has anyone else just gone off a load of their favourite foods? I just tried to eat a greek salad - suddenly all olives taste 'musty'. I don't want cups of tea, which is beyond wierd for me, and I don't fancy a glass of wine. At all. I mean, great, at one level, but why can't I go off refined carbs instead!??

calsworld · 29/07/2008 22:07

Good news MKG - I'm glad you're vagina has been deemed healthy! .... I dread to think what an unhealthy one would be like.....!

Welcome grinningbee and congrats on your BFP!

SMM, Livismum, HW & captain - I too have been grumpy round the edges, and DS, DH and the dog have probably had it a bit rougher than normal. Although DS seems to be behaving much better !

I seem to have been a little better in the last couple of days though I haven't been doing anything different - except eating lots of tomatos and somehow I don't think that's likely to have contributed much - LOL! I remember having some very untypical outbursts last time round too, mainly at the dog . I think just knowing that its normal and recognising it as a symptom of pg helps to keep it in check.

Had a really yummy lamb hot pot type meal tonight, with jacket potato and broccoli, mmm mmmmmm.

MKG · 29/07/2008 22:16

Yeah I should have asked her to take a picture for me to frame and put in the entrance of my house .

As for an unhealthy one I don't know, but I did have a look with hand mirror when very pregnant with ds2. DON'T DO IT! I've never been so horrified.

SunshineSmith · 29/07/2008 22:37

hiya,

I don' think we are crappy mums - we are just a bit tired and hormones are playing tricks on us.

I've felt like a right old moody cow all day. GRRRR.... I have also been so hungry for the last week- I EAT ANYTHING almost no nausea but also pumping for England!

Ah, the joys of pregnancy!
