offers round dried apricots - great for constipation! . Thanks for all the replies re cs, will keep hoping that will not be neccessary. Should change name to Coward.

oopsacoconut · 02/07/2008 17:55

I can offer freshly cooked spanish tortilla (the eggy kind) salad, summer pudding and fresh cream strawberry tart. can you tell I was bored today? but back to work in the morning, after having my hair cut, so no more boredom for me!

Annvan - no ta on the apricots - the last thing i need is anymore fibre, just call me trumpet trousers!

My day of rest consisted of cooking, sorting out baby's room, washing baby bedding and clothes, scrubbing floors and skirtings, chasing cats out of the drawers I was cleaning and putting lining paper in, sorted and put baby's clothes in and went FLOP!!!!

SPD hurting today - yesterday I thought it was a figment of m/wife's imagination!

AnnVan · 02/07/2008 17:57

scuse ignorance but what is spd??

ChaCha · 02/07/2008 17:59

Quiche!!! Drool.
pasta is not considered 'proper food' in this house, DH hates anything pasta based but i love it especially with cheesy garlic bread...oh Lord i'm hungry.

ALBS Forgot to mention cramps. I had them badly recently in my calf, i woke up in the night screaming and clutching my leg, was awful. My leg was sore all day and when i got to the osteopath he pinpointed a place on my foot that really helped, the pain was soon gone and the cramp surprisingly didn't return until we were on holiday last week and after climbing many flights of stairs i got it near my knee!!!! Did someone mention flight socks?
Tis horrible to be woken with that pain, do you get it often? i had it loads with DS2, like almost every night not so much now (mustn't speak to soon though).

DC are playing in the garden, finally sunshine is out and i am so out of sorts. Don't feel like cooking or cleaning or doing anything .... feeling bit veg like really.
So fortunate for MN today, really mustn't be phoning anyone with complaints.

ChaCha · 02/07/2008 18:01

What is Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)?

The two halves of your pelvis are connected at the front by a stiff joint called the symphysis pubis. This joint is strengthened by a dense network of ligaments which means that under normal conditions, very little movement occurs. In order to make your baby's passage through your pelvis as easy as possible, your body produces a hormone called relaxin, which softens the ligaments in your pelvis. As a result, these joints move more during and just after pregnancy.

ChaCha · 02/07/2008 18:02

Should really spare you all now and go do something.....hope Bealcain is ok.

cyteen · 02/07/2008 18:05

oops may I join you in the farty corner? Don't worry, I've brought clothespegs for the rest of the girls to stick on their noses...honestly, I've actually shamed myself these last few days.

Just spoke to my dad again who is still fine - he was at the flat making a start on trying to sort out the old man's paperwork. Apparently the place is a complete tip - shades of Edmund Trebus, although nowhere near that bad. Regardless of my feelings about the guy, it's a pretty sad way to go. But he did it to himself.

oopsacoconut · 02/07/2008 18:20

Cyteen - sorry to hear about your family stuff going on, please take care of yourself!

I shamed myself at our last NCT class last night - practicing our labour positions on the ball during a simulated contractions - and it just escaped, rather loudly and the whole room burst out laughing

anyone for my magnum?? I don't want the choccie bit just the icecream and I don't want to waste!

Buckets · 02/07/2008 18:38

Annvan stop talking cowardice! You would rather face the pain like a man (PMSL) than needles and anaesthetic, I think that's pretty damn brave. I had a very welcome emergency CS under general anaesthetic and a lovely planned one under epidural (needle was a bit prickly like holly that's all) and did think about normal birth this time but chickened out in favour of planned CS. That said, if I do go into labour naturally, I will see how I feel and not entirely rule out going with the flow instead.

I am intrigued by the idea of Irish Cadburys as I certainly hate English Cadbury's, tastes like fatty non-chocolatey crap to me. Can you order Irish choc online I wonder?

Cyteen - I remember Mr Trebus! We have one in our street actually, although he actively goes out looking for stuff to hoard and I happen to know he owns a piece of land nearby chocfull of old cars with trees growing through them. Nowt so strange as folk eh?

TwilightSurfer · 02/07/2008 18:47

Oops a friend of my just stopped by and told the same story you just did (only from another point of view).....I can't you were in the same class together. Guess it's just common....like pooing on the table during delivery. THE GLAMOUR!!!!

Despite my nose bleed this morning, I've done quite well today. Floors swept, rooms in order, five loads of laundry done (not folded or put away...but done). Have cracked down on toys outside of DD's room. She's not liking that too much but I AM.

alittlebitshy · 02/07/2008 18:56

EVERYONE stop putting me to shame and tidying/cleaning/cooking....... I feel ashamed!!! I managed to dust and hoover upstairs today - incl changing our sheets (mammoth task - super king bed and duvet defeat me at best of times).

yeah yeah - trumping corner is getting a bit full (And a bit whiffy)..... But it's cosy!

buckets hmm - I'm not sure what I'll do if i got inot labour naturally. First off I'll panic, then phone hospital but I just don't know if I'd try and go with the flow or have the section anyway. Argh.

cyteen glad your dad is dealing with it all ok. Is he far from you geographically?

TwilightSurfer · 02/07/2008 19:01

OMG I've just reread my post.... what on earth was I trying to say? the grammar is so bad and words are missing.....

me thinks me lost me NtellyGents somewhere today

OP posts:
alittlebitshy · 02/07/2008 19:02

lol at NtellyGents! love it!

cyteen · 02/07/2008 19:05

albs he's in London, I'm in Leicester, so not too far - it's an easy train ride down, I expect I'll pop down at least for a day or two

alittlebitshy · 02/07/2008 19:09

Oh right!

I want choc. The only choc there is in the house, i think, is dd's last remaining easter egg(!!!). I can't. a year ok I could have but now she;' notice and COMPLAIN! grr.

AnnVan · 02/07/2008 19:19

Don't be ashamed shy!I have not been superwoman, although I am cooking a little, but only dinner (have never cooked pork belly before so a little nervous about possibility of botch job)

Thanks for v kind words bucket. Have thought about it and come to this conclusion. It is cowardice but with a reversed effect. I am scared of childbirth, but idea of csec/epidural scare me even more I'm not saying I object to pain relief (I remember my sister being all preachy about how she was going to have a totally natural birth, she ended up having pethidine, diamorphine and epidural). In my case it's extreme cowardice giving the impression that I'm brave.

You lot are all so cool & Calm , I'm quaking in my pink Eeyore slippers.
Sorry for boring all with super-long post

alittlebitshy · 02/07/2008 19:27

hoping dizzy is ok....

PetitFilou1 · 02/07/2008 19:32

VintageGardenia · 02/07/2008 19:50

That peculiar message was from my DS.

Wall-e = film
Seriously, come on, creme egg = because you guys were talking about chocolate preferences
Some practice smileys
mouse rocks = Mouse is one of our dogs. Clearly, she rocks!

sarahnh · 02/07/2008 19:55

Sibh, thanks for the choccie... definitely still using Tess for baby, my dd calls my tummy tess and the baby's room is now Tess's room so its pretty much set in stone...

All this food talk is making me hungry and i have just demolish a huge bowl of fresh veggie soup and a tub of pineapple... now i want the naughty stuff!!!

Dh has just gone to the pub so i am chillin out watching the tennis and being on mn!!! He has promised to sleep in the spare room too which means i get the whole bed to myself!!! i wonder if i will ever want to co sleep again, i'm lovingn all the space!!!!

VintageGardenia · 02/07/2008 19:56

In fact what drew his eyes to the screen was the phrase "pooing on the table during delivery", which elicted a few snorts of laughter and a grabbing of the laptop. Ohhh ... Mumsnet could be interesting after all! I thought it was boring, but they talk about poo!

Sibh · 02/07/2008 19:59

Hello to VG's DS--have no hope of communicating in similar style of course but liking the pratice smilies .

Cowardice is the only sensible approach annvan. I still love the story of one of my best friends refusing to come out of the corner of her bedroom to go to hospital to have her second baby. Whenever her husband tried to coax her into the car she kept saying 'Er, no, I've decided I don't want to do this actually.'
She did eventually leave the room of course and has a lovely daughter to show for her perseverance with the whole baby project ...

The best bit of advice I got about the fear/pain thing was from a friend who said that you should repeat to yourself often during labour that this is just one day of your life and it will pass. Also the whole pregnancy thing is designed so that by the end you don't care how the child comes out as long as it stops treating your insides like the wacky warehouse ...

oopsacoconut · 02/07/2008 20:02

Guy, have you realised we have made almost 700 posts in 7 days - slackjaw is definitely the correct term.

Sending Dizzy huggy vibes and hope she's being taken care of as well as her looking after others.

Eating cold custard with battenberg - didn't fancy anything i had cooked earlier. If i carry on cooking like this DH will be a whale by the time bubs arrives!

VG if all else fails your DS can fill us in when you give birth!
