and breath, breath, relax, breath, breath, relax (and this is for my btw not you and YOU seem to be cool as a cucumber!!!)

CaptainCaveman · 27/06/2008 20:58

Congratulations to sazzles and ts for making me laugh out loud with your last posts, esp 'fanny falling off' and 'popping delilah in the wash basket' .

I realised there are still things I haven't got yet....ie. baby monitor, a bag for transporting baby crap in, breast pump. I made slight amends today by buying a changing mat and some muslin cloths.

cyteen depsite hating my last pg I really missed NOT being pg after I'd had ds. I think I'll miss it this time too, although I will be glad when I can touch my toes again without giving myself a brain haemorrage.

So dizzy I am utterly gubbed from wheeching earlier, altough pleased to report no fanjo issues here

TwilightSurfer · 27/06/2008 21:00

Bealcain, I had some pretty strong BH a weekend or so ago. Went all weekend long but never had any pattern too it. All in all I think it was just another growth spurt. Here's hoping that's what yours is. Falling down typically doesn't do much to the baby in the belly because all the good juices in the bubble. As long as you're feeling the baby move and have no other "birth" related symptoms...I can totally understand why your calm.

Dizzy {{{hugs}}} sorry about your Mother.

Okay if anyone could potentially have an 080808 baby it is ME! I "naturally" do things "early", ask anyone who knows me. The moon will NOT be on my side as that's only the first quarter BUT you never know (gave birth two days before the NEW MOON with DD1). Will be discussing the date with DH this evening. I'm sure he'll be in absolute agreement since it is a FRIDAY (so long weekend without work worries) and it is PAYDAY (so we'll be saving loads of money being trapped up in the hosptial).

Sazzles, I forgot to say I was glad the library (for us) was closed today. We went and dropped our books in the night drop...upon leaving DD said, "mommy next time we go inside I want to yell because it's too quiet in there."

Captain......... {{{twilight zone music}}}}
I bought changing pads today too. {{{{{twilight zone music}}}}}}
HOWEVER I will not chime in with you on the missing being pregnant...sorry Cyteen. I totally love my boobs but that's about it. I want my normal body BACK!!! With my normal energy level!!

Well ladies am so bushed after early start this morning with ds, am going to get a cup of tea then watch some 24 in bed. Abdomen is rock hard and Jerry is nestling under my ribcage causing no end of misery joy.
Mw reckons bubs is on 90th centile using useless totally accurate fundal height measurement. She said the same to my friend and predicted a 9lb baby....he was 6lb 13oz

CaptainCaveman · 27/06/2008 21:09

too weird ts - your grandad wasn't a blue eyed blonde haired Airman was he?....

TwilightSurfer · 27/06/2008 21:16

HazieDazieandBaby · 27/06/2008 22:24

Evening! Hope everyone is good today. Was sorry to hear about those of you who were having bad appts and feeling rubbish.

I join everyone in the about bealcain?s casual announcements!! Argh! I?d be freaking out! Being serious though, I hope everything?s fine with you now.

I felt really popular today when I checked my emails and saw that I had 17!! Normally have 2 or 3 so was really excited! Turns out loads of people have been joining Facebook so they were all notification emails, but yay anyway!

Sarahnh, I tried to find you on Facebook but there are a few Sarah Hitchcock?s so wasn?t able to work out which one you were. If you type my email address into Facebook, you should be able to find me that way, it?s hazie1982 @ yahoo.co.uk.

Cyteen, I think I?ll miss baby's movements too when she?s born. I was a bit freaked out too at the beginning, but loving it now! I?ve asked a few of my friends about it and they?ve just said that they were so busy with their babies after they were born that they didn?t notice or even think about it. I agree with CC about missing being pregnant, I can?t wait to meet my lo, but want to stay in my pregnant state too!

Well done on your use of the Scots language TS and CC! I think we?ll have to start issuing some sort of certificate!

Yum yum dizzy, send all the rice pudding up to me and I?ll love you so much that you won?t even notice that you?re not popular in your house! And don?t you dare apologise for mentioning that your mum?s ill, if you need to get anything off your chest, we?re all here to listen. ((hugs))

Welcome back ChaCha! I can?t imagine how hot it must?ve been in Egypt, I was melting here today and I live in Aberdeen!! Oh, and some useless information for you... Apparently in China the number 8 is lucky, so imagine if your lo was born on 08.08.08! So I?m with your physiotherapist on this one!

gigglegirl · 27/06/2008 22:30

evening all - sorry for my repetitive post last night - not sure what happened! Put that post up and then computer crashed so didn't turn it back on!

ChaCha all i have done re hospital bag is write a list - no further on than that. These ladies put me to shame!

bealcain wish i was as calm as you - we can all do the panic for you! Do get checked if still going on tmw though!

Had planned a night of chocolate, TV and Mumsnet this evening to reward myself for how much I had done today (organising BBQ for 200 on Sunday so mainly to do with that!) but MIL put pay to that and phone me drunk and had a go for nearly an hour about how crap me and DH are (he's out at footie!) and ended the conversation moaning that we don't see her enough.....I wonder why..........

sarahnh · 28/06/2008 07:17

Morning everyone,

thanks hazie, will send you an email...

Any news Belcain???? fingers crossed you are ok and and managed to sleep and bubba is still in your tummy!!!

Its mine and DH's 5th wedding anniversary today.. i cannot believe how quickly time has flown by... not much chance of celebrating tho as no baby sitter and still a bit spotty!!!

My dh also painted the baby's room yesterday Hurrah!!!! It is a gorgeous Babe pink colour and looks fab... DD new furniture arrives on Monday so we will be able to move the cotbed out of dd room and turn it back into a cot... so feel it is all starting to become a bit more real!!!

My dh also said last night how low baby is lying all of a sudden.... freaked me out a bit that he had noticed!!!!

Anyway dd has had been up since before 6.30am and wants to play on the computer... so have a great day everyone xxxxx

ChaCha · 28/06/2008 07:21

Anyone up and about?

I now have flashbacks of weeks 35+ with previous pregnancies. Little sleep, in and out the loo all night, unable to get comfy, SPD and moan, moan, moan! DS1 jumped out of bed at 6am excited 'play with the trains' while i tried to cajole him back to bed saying that mummy wasn't feeling great and needed to have a drink. He hears everything!

SPD getting worse, really hurts trying to get in and out of bed all night - what do you SPD sufferers do when you just cant move quick enough and the pain sets in? God i'm feeling really sorry for myself, sorry!

Haziedazie - Thank you for welcome back, it was extremely hot, 38 somedays but we survived it and was glad to be home. If i am ever PG again will not be flying anywhere if i can help it - much prefer security of being near home.

GG - Good luck with BBQ arrangements and glad am not alone in my non prep of new arrival. Must get self into gear soon.

Grandparents arriving later so best get busy. Or maybe just have another drink .... x

sarahnh · 28/06/2008 07:22

hazie just tried to email you but silly facebook couldn't fine you... can you email me at [email protected]??

thanks xxxx

sarahnh · 28/06/2008 07:24

Morning CHA CHA,

I'm just enjoying a cup of peppermint time, i think you should just put your feet up, let DS play trains and treat yourself to another cuppa!!!xxx

ChaCha · 28/06/2008 07:28

Hi Sarahn - an early start for you too then. DS1 went back to sleep fortunately but DS2 will be up shortly.

Forgot to mention thread title, everytime i read it i find myself singing 'we are the hot milk ladies, running on narrow gauge tracks....'

Anyone with me?

ChaCha · 28/06/2008 07:30

Yup, you are right! Another mint tea and a slice of toast before they are all up me thinks

Gigglegirl - when will MILs learn, being a grandparent is a privilege not a right?

Chacha - last 2 nights I can't lie on my side without my pelvis feeling like it's going to collapse.

Have just stripped the bed and set it up for the last few weeks of pregnancy: i.e. old double sleeping bag under the sheet to cushion my hips and soak up any waters should they break.

Nice lazy weekend here. DD and I are off to school fete this am, DH & DS have just gone off to the library. Planning a daring (and cheeky) move to pop round PILs to show them bumph about a gorgeous ground floor flat for sale. They will never do it but it would be perfect to keep them both independent for the next couple of decades as MIL just gets frailer and is already reminding me of my clients (you would never believe she's only 58ys.)

TwilightSurfer · 28/06/2008 11:16

Morning
Up at 5:45am here because DD played with clock alarm last night so it went off at it's loudest scaring the entire house at, you guessed it, 5:45am. Humorously it was playing one of her CDs, "C.C. my playmate. Come out and play with me. And bring your dollies three." Since it brought on the nausea I decided to get up, have a snack, and check my emails.

I'm with everyone on the uncomfortable sleeping front. There's not one place or position that works for me. BUT time's almost up so I'll keep focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel.

33 Weeks TODAY!!

OP posts:
CaptainCaveman · 28/06/2008 13:32

Afternoon gals. Ds up at 6.50, I tried dozing on the settee but he kept leaping on me and waking me up! Dh has just taken him out to a soft play place for an hour so I can get some peace...will be heading back to bed I think!

Ouch for you spd sufferers, must be miserable for you. And chin up to everyone who is now having trouble sleeping. I kept waking up with tummy ache but think it was just wind (nice), but then every time I turned over my heartburn would start up and make me gag. Joy joy joy. 33 weeks tomorrow yippee!

Sibh · 28/06/2008 16:33

Hello all, I'm hiding from DS and DD for five minutes. DS (5) is having some kind of 'vietnam vet' style disintegration about finishing playgroup, starting school and the baby coming. Today he has got his lisp back to the point of being unintelligible, sulked because I wouldn't lift him into a baby swing at the playground, grumped because I wouldn't put him in a supermarket trolley and stamped and screamed in the street when I asked him not to walk on a narrow pavement with his arms stretched out.

He's a nice boy just not great at change and he's had lots of it with moving to Ireland and stuff ... I've been repeating the bit about him being nice like a mantra all afternoon to myself, but I'm really too tired for this today. He's being nice now but I feel like I've been thumped. Meanwhile DH is in Covent Garden having coffee and cake. Can't grumble as the man is kindness personified, never has an hour off and has a few hours between an exam meeting and his flight home. Counting the hours till bedtime and trying not to think about how things will be on a bad day with three here. God that was a rant ... sorry about that.

CaptainCaveman · 28/06/2008 17:40

Rant away sibh, unless you are superwoman then you are entitled to feel knackered whilst pg even without having kids to contend with too!!

Just had a nap for 50 mins on sofa and not sure if I feel better or worse for it?! Honestly, some folk are never satisfied.

Also, nearly cried in town when stupid jobsworth 18 yr old coffee shop worker refused to let ds and I use the toilet because we hadn't bought anything in their 'restaurant'. FFS I look 20 months pg and ds is only 4 - I stopped short of asking her if she'd like me to piss on her floor and flounced off

CaptainCaveman · 28/06/2008 18:24

Just gone a bit wild and bought a baby monitor, change bag and electric breast pump.....

IlanaK · 28/06/2008 19:22

Hi all, I have reappeared post our move now. We moved into my mum's last weekend due to pipe refurbishments in my building (we have to be out for 4 months). We are finally settled in and although I dreaded it, it has been a godsend as I desperately need help at the moment as my mobility is so poor.

For all those with spd - support belts really help. You can get them online fairly cheaply. Just make sure they are PELVIC support and not just bump support. Also, sleep with a large pillow between your knees at night. When you get out of bed to pee, just sit on the edge of the bed for a minute before trying to walk - it helps. Also, just give in to the fact that you need to do a lot less.

I am 36 weeks on Monday and have only 3 weeks from then until baby is born. So, I am starting to get ready post move. We bought and fit a bed rail to our bed today as we plan to co-sleep. I got a box of eco-disposables delivered (I am a clothie but my mum won't let me wash dirty nappies in her machine while here). Sorted out the baby clothes ready and found my old breast pump.

Still, I need all your help with a couple of things: what do I need to pack in hospital bag. I know this is baby number three for me, but I just can't remember! I am having c-section so no labour stuff needed, but I will be in hospital for two nights after.

Also, I used to have a microwave steriliser, but don't anymore. I don't want to buy another as I will be breastfeeding and don't plan to use bottles. However, I need to sterilise the pump if I end up needing it. Sooooo.....what other methods are there out there that don't require me to pay out of equipment? Can you just boil stuff?

Oh, and I had a wonderful experience in hospital the week before our move when I was on my way to an antenatal appointment, got off the bus and had chest pains and couldn't breathe. Ended up on labour ward being monitored with an ECG but all seemed fine in the end. It was scary though!
