hoxtonchick · 27/01/2005 15:59

i have a couple of pairs of trousers with elastic & can never quite get them to work - pregnancy has certainly done my brain in! all clothes very gratefully received. have we got any lunch plans soon?

bundle · 27/01/2005 16:01

is next friday your day off? or this one? i lose track..

hoxtonchick · 27/01/2005 16:03

next. shall we play (i lose track too. do you think work would notice if i just started working 2 days a week....)?

pinkmama · 27/01/2005 16:09

OI HC! Thought you had promised that friday to me!

bundle · 27/01/2005 16:18
Blush
pinkmama · 27/01/2005 16:30

Hey bundle, don't you look embarrassed - its that two timing HC that should be ashamed of her behaviour

oi bundle & pinkmama, stop fighting - you can both have me !

pamina, i have been really paranoid about movements. i felt them from 13 weeks this time, but really do seem to devote lots of my day concentrating on my tummy, waiting for the next twitch. i'm 16+4 now, & just yesterday they started to get stronger, feeling like proper kicks. i think you're about the same amount pg as me aren't you, or a little behind. the way i rationalised it to myself was that it was a bonus to feel things so early so i couldn't expect them to be consistent. does that make sense?

i'm glad it's friday too. ds is at home with grandma so i don't have to worry about him & i'm quite enjoying being in the office. mainly because it's lunch time soon. and maybe a bit of shopping this afternoon...

Lolasmum · 28/01/2005 11:50

Yes, I'm glad its Friday too.

I'm 16 weeks today. I've felt movement most evenings, but not every evening. My rational has been the same as yours HC. Everything I feel is a bonus.

Pamina, no I would not consider dh being a sahd. dd would grow up thinking the cbeebies presenters were her parents! I don't think he would consider it also. He gets panicky if I ever need him to look after dd at the weekend on his own!

PM, hope you enjoy your mother free weekend!

Hi folks, long time no post, been busy working to make up for all the lack of work whilst moving house. Trying to cram in a fair bit whilst I feel up to it. Also having a house warming party on Monday. Should be good, though it will be the first one I've ever held sober...( sigh...oh for the days of filling the bath with beer and letting everyone get on with it). Much more civilised now, actually have a beer fridge downstairs, feel very Australian.
I'm 18 weeks today! Got my 20 week scan next Friday. They do them over here between 18 and 22 weeks, excited about that, definately want to know if it's a he/she this time around. I'm feeling bits of movement, but have really been too busy to keep track,I'm looking forward to when they feel like a proper kicks.
Hats off to all you folk on no 3, this'll be no 2 for me, and I think that'll probably be it for us. I know you can never say for sure, but that's the current cunning plan anyway.
Keep on looking after yourselves.

merryberry · 29/01/2005 10:16

COngratulations on the move! Wish me luck with ours, we move on Monday, I'm just taking a break from the packing now. I am missing alcohol (well, not at this time of morning!) to relax with. Glass of champagne when we're in on Monday, bring it on.

I'm on no. one baby, probably our only at my age, 36, and our other plans. Felt very sporadic movements at week 16, feel something every day now I'm in my 18th week.

Don't have my 20 week scan til 23 weeks, quite nervous about it. xx

webwoman05 · 31/01/2005 17:27

Hello there!

I haven't had the energy to post anything for a while as I probably had the week from Hell last week! Lots of probs with DS1 suddenly being aggressive at nursery (other mothers complaining!). This is the child that they said needed to stand up for himself towards the end of last year! Now that he is 4 (Testosterone has obviously kicked in!) and he has turned into a nightmare child (according to nursery). At home he has his moments but generally quite calm and not aggressive. I am also trying to get him to use the potty for no 2s (to no avail) so lots of pooey pants (lovely with morning sickness - it still hasn't gone although not as bad as it was!). He also has had the runs since Friday so bless him not really his fault that he keeps having accidents. Normally you take these things in your stride but have been having lots of hormonal moments!

Pamina3 - last time I posted you asked me what sort of special care I was going to receive (after my last abruption). Prob similar to you with a Doppler scan when I have my 23 week scan (at Kings), then a meeting with my consultant at West Mid where I will actually be having DS2. Other than that I'm not sure. Fingers crossed everything will be fine.

Hope all you ladies are feeling OK and I trust you have all had a better week than me last week. Good luck to to all you house movers. Pleased we don't have to tackle that one now for sometime but we did manage (God knows how!) in a one bedroom flat until DS1 was nearly 2!

Sorry for the long rant but feel so much better to have got things off my ever increasing chest! xx

Eulalia · 01/02/2005 10:06

Hope the move went well OzJo and Merryberry. webwoman - yuk doesn't sound fun with ms. Hope your ds is better soon.

I feel fine now and am just constantly hungry all the time so am off to eat something!

pinkmama · 01/02/2005 10:16

Congratulations/good luck to all you house movers.
Webwoman, sounds like last week was terrible. Hope things improve. I really hoped I would get my ds out of nappies so I could have a break before this one,but he certainly seems to have other ideas!
Well, my lovely mother free weekend was awful, both me and dd were really poorly. I threw up constantly for 36 hours. Doctor finally gave me some anti sickness suppositaries, which he seemed suprised I was ok about, by that time I would have shoved anything anywhere to stop the sickness. One of those situations were headache made me feel sicker, but lack of fluids made headache worse, and on and on. Anyway, finally felt better last night, for a whole hour, then was hit by an almighty and very sudden cold! At least I am upright now though!
My booking in appointment today (at last!). So hope to hear its heartbeat!
Hope everyone else is doing well. Down here in Brighton just about everyone I know is being hit by a nasty virus - is it going round elsewhere?

hoxtonchick · 01/02/2005 15:00

poor you pinkmama. hope booking in is ok.

i have a grim cold too, caught from ds. not that surprising as he smeared snot over me for 2 days..... i'm sulking though, as he got to cuddle up on the settee when ill, dp could take a day off work if he is & i can't. huh. at least i've persuaded him to sleep now so get a bit of time to myself.

ds's birthday went well. i was exhausted, in bed by 8pm!

malvern · 02/02/2005 14:44

Sorry to jump in on you - but looking for a bit of advice. I've just found out I'm pregnant (7 weeks - so early days). My 'problem' is I'm going to be maid of honour at my best friends wedding in April (which if all goes well, will make me 17 weeks). The dress has already been ordered and I'm worrying about telling my friend. Can you tell me how much you are 'showing' should I be trying to change my dress size - find a good dressmaker?

Thanks for any advice.

BabyDot · 02/02/2005 14:51

Hi ya Malvern,

Obviously I can only speak for myself but I am on average a size 12 before getting pregnant and I am 16 weeks at the mo and am in maternity clothing. my waist has increased by 6 inches.

I didn't want to upset you Malvern but I gathered you wanted the truth. I however am not a great fitness phonatic so maybe if your slim and toned you won't be showing at all! It is so difficult to tell as everyone is so different. My advise is tell my friend and maybe arrange for the dress to be altered nearer the date. The last thing you want to be doing is worrying yourself sick till April, and there is nothing you can do about changing shape, I look like I have gained a stone and I have only gained 2 pound. Good luck, there are loads of lovely girls on this thread get all their opinions!

CONGRATULATIONS!

malvern · 02/02/2005 15:58

Hi BabyDot

Thanks for that - and I really do appreicate your honesty! I'm a size 12 as well (at the mo) and although I'm still trying to go to the gym my energy levels are pretty low so not doing so much.

I think I will phone the shop today and see if they have any advice. I know the dresses are coming from the States and I'm due for a fitting in a couple of weeks so I don't think I'm going to be able to change the size, but maybe I could order some more fabric and get a dressmaker to work wonders.

Thanks again.

hoxtonchick · 02/02/2005 21:15

had a good antenatal appointment today. ds managed to fall asleep on the way which was a bonus. heard the heartbeat which was very exciting (though dr was a bit unwilling to do it as i'd just told him how much movement i was feeling. i insisted ). i got some new super-strength insulin which is a bit scary . oh & i got the results of my 24 hour blood pressure monitor, & the average was 130/77 which is most respectable & just goes to prove that i really am a loony!

hope everyone else is ok.

oh, i asked the dr about sleeping on my back & he said it's absolutely fine for at least another 10 weeks. hooray. probably bad news for dp on the snoring front though.....

hub2dee · 02/02/2005 21:21

Long time no speak, ladies. Hmmm... a 'no morning sickness' thread ? Dee was in bed all day yesterday, retching regularly... "worst yet" (though she had it nice and easy for about 11 / 12 weeks (we're 14+1, possible August baby).

Hope you're all doing well. My excitement is mounting... so much so that I might be buying a Bill Amberg papoose thingy on ebay . Bit early, really...Luckily, I lost the auction, but the buyer fell through so I might hook up with the seller yet !

OzJo · 03/02/2005 09:18

Hello all,
bridesmaid to be...I'm 18 weeks ( nearly 19 weeks) personally finding the bump smaller in the mornings still but spreading throughout the day. Is it your first? I'm on no 2 and it's definately all hangin out earlier than it did last time round, plus I had fuck all in the way of stomach tone even before the first. You talk of gyms, so must have some fitness, if you're skinny/fit and young you're probably more likely to have less of a bump. That said, it's utterly individual. Sorry to be of little use really. If your friend is any kind of friend she'll be overjoyed at your news and not fret about dresses.
I've got my ultrasound tomorow...find out if it's a boy or girl...as long as the little bugger hasn't got its legs crossed.
Merryberry, hope you're enjoying the new house. Unpacking is so much more fun than packing.

hub2dee · 03/02/2005 09:30

malvern, if you contact the dressmaker nice and early maybe they can leave extra material on the inside of the side seams, depending on style (like a know diddly squat about bridesmaid dresses), and you could get it let out if needed.

Hope your scan goes well OzJo.

Hi to MommyD. Our antenatals our with the Red Team and we're being seen at our GP in Temple Fortune Health Centre, so hopefully won't have to spend much more time in the Royal Free. Hope you're well.

MommyD · 03/02/2005 14:57

hub - i have finally got my first appointment through after the booking in appointment - Valentine's Day. I will be 17 weeks exactly then. I am sure I was seen a lot earlier with the last two pregnancies! Feeling fine, except the occasional problem with sciatica - dreadful pain all the way down my right leg.
I am getting a small amount of faint movement (I am 15wks +3)
My oldesr (2 yrs, 9 months) is going through a less troublesome and VERY sweet stage (he wanted to be my special helper today). So all going well!
I expect an onslaught of rugby from dh this weekend and for the next few weeks... oh joy.

hub2dee · 03/02/2005 16:34

No bean movement (that we can feel) our end yet.

Glad your appointments got sorted MommyD. Our next is 18th Feb with the midwife and for some reason the 21st with a consultant at the hospital. Dunno why, but we're keeping it nonetheless.

Enjoy the rugby. (FIL is South African; goes crazy for it)
