TwilightSurfer · 28/03/2008 18:06

Just did a search for Confused and she's not posted under that name or her "real" screen name since Thursday. She's probably getting lots of care and attention from her DP so she doesn't have time to post. I do hope all is well with her though.

PetitFilou1 · 28/03/2008 18:19

Hello
Found the new thread.
Re comfortable bras I've found Triumph Amourette and John Lewis completely budget no wire but still shaped ones really good so far. Lost a bit of breast tissue from feeding so long last time (a year) - they are going to be like two fried eggs by the time I'm finished Oh well! All part of the battle scars.

TS I had birth and beyond but given it to my SIL. It is a lovely book. I recommend it particularly to any of the first timers on here.

Btw my maternity jeans are staying up fine {smug} but I do have a belt on with them. They are under the bump ones from Seraphine. Poor bump has been walloped by the dcs a lot today. If this one isn't soothed by movement when it comes out I'll be very surprised. My very ugly but very effective electric rocking swing thing will re-emerge I think.

Also thinking of C&L. Hope she's ok.

PetitFilou1 · 28/03/2008 18:21

Dizzy your girls are very sweet. I haven't got a page up as too nervous about being outed in RL!

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 18:26

petit glad you found us and thank you! I only have a limited profile and the photos are only meant to be available to those have accepted as friends but hey ho, am not that startling that someone might come looking for me lol

TS am desperately hoping you're right

PetitFilou1 · 28/03/2008 18:28

I might post my two on there so you can all see at some point. They've been good today considering the only place we've been is the shops... crap mother alert!

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 18:31

petit I can beat you, am about to throw dd2 out the bloody window and have told dh who has not long arrived in that unless he wants a murder he's doing the bath & bed tonight! the problem is that she has MY temp and stubborn streak and we clash - she's only 22months

PetitFilou1 · 28/03/2008 19:08

Dizzy you have my sympathies - I have the same problem with ds. He has a fearsome temper. I remember at about 18 months putting him in the cot to calm down as he was in such a rage. He pulled the curtains and curtain rail off the wall while in there. He's better now but still has his moments...
dd on the other hand just does a bit of foot stamping and turning on the waterworks. It is laughable in comparison. She'll be a terrible teenage though I've no doubt...

PetitFilou1 · 28/03/2008 19:18

C&L is back btw, on her other thread and has reverted to being miamla again. She sounds ok but I'll nudge her to come and talk to you all.

CaptainCaveman · 28/03/2008 19:24

CYTEEN get thee to Bravissimo - they do D cup upwards and I won't shop anywhere else. Am normally a 30d but so far have crept up a size to 32E. Lovely bras and very supportive too.

Well we're off to the pub tonight - dh is just dropping ds off at my sisters then we're off down the local(s). I'd like to say I'm enthusiastic about it but I'd rather be nice and snug indoors and getting an early night! STill, at least I get to chat to my friend who is also pg so it's going to be worthwhile making the effort.

Have a sore toe at the moment - I kicked a metal bar earlier (not on purpose!) - it's the foot of my exercise bike. Yowch. Can't bend it now and it's a bit fat too. Still, what can you do about a sore toe? Nothing. So I'll stop moaning about it.

Have a lovely evening whatever you have planned - see you tomorrow!

OP posts:
HazieAndBaby · 28/03/2008 19:28

I forgot to say TS, you asked on the old thread about why everyone had been looking at lie-flat strollers. I'm not sure if anyone answered you yet, but they recommend here that the baby lies flat as much as possible and isn't sitting upright for more than 2 hours at a time, but I can't remember how long this applies for. Maybe someone else can help? xx

PetitFilou1 · 28/03/2008 19:32

6 months Hazie, but neither of mine would put up with lying flat for that long. They were too nosey!

HazieAndBaby · 28/03/2008 19:48

Don't think I could either petitfilou!

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 19:50

TS I forgot all about that too sorry. Hazie is right, they recommend newborns are in lying flat position for as long as possible - I personally hate seeing the wee souls scrunched up in their car seats for any length of time, they've only just managed to get out of a constricted space FGS let them have a wriggle and stretch lol

TwilightSurfer · 28/03/2008 21:00

Okay Sazzles I've upload a few photos to prove I'm real and not an avitar. And yes, Dizzy you'll be happy to learn I do have a head.

Honestly I'd forgotten about the stroller question but I do find that interesting. I guess my DD's been damaged for life as she LIVED in her carseat for the first year....I'm a very busy lady.

I am totally wiped out from today's shopping binge. I bought two skirts, two shirts, and a dress..oh and some more flip flops. None are maternity but all are big and summery so should be fine.

Will go have a looksee now on other thread about Miamala/Confused.

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 21:05

lol TS am sure you've done her no lasting damage! I used my lie flat ALL the time for dd1 but not so much for dd2 as it took up the whole of the back seat and I won't have dd1 in the front with me, she's only 4 and distracts me too much lol

I did use it all the time for all the walking I did and will do the same for this one hopefully

you have a lovely happy looking family, what a smiley lot you are

TwilightSurfer · 28/03/2008 21:14

I sure hope I didn't do her harm but a lie flat one just wasn't an option then or now for number 2. Oh well.

HazieAndBaby · 28/03/2008 21:14

I wouldn't worry either TS. If you lived by all the guidelines that were ever set, you'd probably be a wreck! Aww and you look lovely in your pics BTW! I'm also glad you have a head!
Talking of old topics, did you get a chance to check out the Which? review of the Jane car seat dizzy?
Oh and DH's cousin and his wife had a baby girl today - who arrived on her due date!! I feel that I now don't have any real concept of overdue-ness - better get myself out of that train of though eh??

TwilightSurfer · 28/03/2008 21:16

Captain I'm of you evening out. I haven't a clue what one of those feels like anymore. I hope you're having FUN!!

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 21:16

no will go and do it right now Hazie - am sorry

smart arse cousin's wife!!! hope she's well, any name yet?

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 21:23

Jane Matrix Cup
We weren't very impressed with this baby seat. Although it gives good front crash protection and excellent head support, side crash protection isn't great, and it's not very user friendly.

Installation is complicated and the belt routing is awkward, so there's a fairly high chance of fitting it incorrectly. The buckle system is hard to master too.

This seat isn't particularly comfortable either, as the padding is rather hard, although it does provide good leg support. The seat has a good quality of finish, but the covers aren't easy to remove or clean. In addition, the child's view is restricted.

You can fit this seat to a variety of Jane pushchairs.

Pros: Excellent head support

Cons: Complicated to use, danger of incorrect installation, hard to clean

HazieAndBaby · 28/03/2008 21:24

Shame on you dizzy! I'll let you off this time though! The little one's called Ayla Louise, not sure where the name came from but I'll catch up with her soon and quiz! It's a bit selfish but I was hoping it wouldn't happen until Monday as I've got my scan at the hospital then and could've visited her! Some people have no consideration!
Hi Karney, hope you've caught up with us on this page now. I got my bras from Bravissimo, I think they're by Fantasie, but they weren't cheap and look like granny bras! I was complaining to my DH about it and he just said, well as long as you're comfortable that's the main thing! Wait til he sees them on! I too am carrying a couple of watermelons! I was a 30J when they measured me last week, but convinced the sales person to put me up a back size to go down a cup size as you run out of options after a J cup!

dizzydixies · 28/03/2008 21:24

Jane Matrix Pro
This seat is designed for babies from birth to about a year (13kg). It is quite unusual in that it can carry very small babies both rearward-facing and lying flat, but in this latter mode it achieved just one star for overall safety and the risk of serious injury to a baby in a crash is far too high. Don?t buy this model.

Cons: Risk of serious injury in a crash.
