I’ve been back two months now full time, wondered if I had made the wrong decision that first week of being back but fast forward to now and we’ve settled in to a nice little routine and now glad for it in a lot of ways.

We are 8 and a half months, she’s sitting unaided brilliantly, has such a strong back but refuses to roll when laid down, turns on her sides very easily but won’t go any further, thinks she’s rolled a few times at the very most. Just hates being on her stomach bless her, but no concerns as I know she can do it, she just doesn’t want to. She’s got two teeth now and we are on a mixture of baby led and spoon feeding, but the latter is more down to me. I Can’t believe how fast it’s gone, I’ve actually been thinking about her first. Birthday recently which is just mad! Her birthday is Halloween, so I’ve had lots of fun thinking about how we can celebrate 🎃

Thack · 15/07/2024 10:44

Ladies, we're at the point where they've been out longer then they were in! Seems so much faster on this side, crazy fast.

Spareincoming · 15/07/2024 13:49

@Thack Time has flown! This time last year seems like years ago!

Came back to see if anyone else was dealing with angry babies? She’s been so upset the past few days, spends most of the day moaning and crying. She’s had the bottom teeth fully through for a while now and she was similar when they were coming through, so I’m hoping it’s the top teeth.

shes been crawling now about 2-3 weeks. Getting faster and I was not prepared at all. So much baby proofing needs to be done.

food wise I’ve been BLW since about 5 months but she still consumes next to nothing. I cook her lavish meals every day and most goes to the dogs, lol. Sometimes I wonder why I bother but I keep telling myself it’ll be worth it in the long run, but will it actually?

after 3 months of non stop visits from family and friends from the UK august will be our first month not having to share our small 2 bed with anyone, whilst I was glad for the visits I’m also looking forward to a little peace.

once August is over we’re all flying back to the UK and Ireland for 2 weeks. Then I go back to work start of October!

weve also just started trying for #2 although #1 took 8 years so I’m not too hopeful that it’ll be speedy!

Hi everyone

Sorry been a little quiet , had a breakup recently and being dealing with my own mental health at the same time , hope all the babies are well and of course you mummas

I'm just wondering if your babies have a had a Sickness bug? Or Been sick or even gagging,

There has a been a sickness bug going round at my kids school , Everyone I was around got it straight away and I thought escaped it but don't think I have I'm not sure tbh . But my baby vomit looks yellow and not clear , his spitting up clear liquid too with bubbles , but I woke up to him gagging trying to be sick

Should I be worried xx

WriMum22 · 25/07/2024 11:45

@LeeanneD11 Sorry to hear you’ve been having a difficult time. Hope you’re ok.

All sounds normal to me, just make sure he keeps on with sips of water, just to avoid dehydration. Sadly, when they have older siblings at school, they catch all sorts, but I guess it builds their immune system, at least that’s what I tell myself. We are the same in our house, in fact little girl is just getting over chickenpox that her 5 year old brother brought home from school. I’ve never had one so young have it before (she’s 8 months) and my gosh has she had a bad case. She’s been so miserable and absolutely full of spots and quite poorly at points, it’s been difficult to see but she seems to have turned a corner today and is much better. They tough little ones though these babies 😊

JoyApple · 31/07/2024 08:59

Hi, anyone hit the 9 month sleep regression?

Not sure what's happened, but baby is all over the place in her crib. I think we are moving her to her cot tonight as she's moving too much and needs space?

Also been quite cranky during the day as she's super desperate to crawl but hasn't cracked it!

DollyGx · 31/07/2024 12:55

@LeeanneD11 hope you’re ok. Big hugs to you. X

@JoyApple i think we are going through some sort of regression too (8.5 months). Sleep has been really up and down the past week, one night she was awake 2.30-5.20am 😴 and yes also getting frustrated at the fact she can’t crawl yet! Yeah maybe try the cot, I moved my little girl into hers about 2 weeks ago as she could barely move in her snuzpod so thought it was time! Not in her own room yet though, too many wake ups still for that!

Hope all is well ladies. Has anyone got a recommendation for a stroller now that our babies are getting bigger? I have a nice but bulky buggy from a travel system but am looking for some think lighter to leave at the grandparents. Something with a decent hood and raincover , that lies back for a nap but is small enough for the boot of an Audi A2. Any suggestions? I'm thinking babyzen yoyo but joie and graco also have some that look good

Hey.

I changed my buggy at 4 months old and my little one is in a silver cross pop and I love it , it's so lightweight and easy to push , he loves facing the world and perfect for buses and cars xx

Also my hood goes right over so covered from sun and lays very flat too xx

Psqueak87 · 09/08/2024 20:35

@Nov2023 just bought the ergobaby metro + deluxe. I love it, golds down to carry on size for an aircraft. Lies flat for naps and the deluxe comes with a rain cover. Weighs around 18lb I think. My usual big Thule jogger was never practical for our trip back to the uk next month as it would fit into families vehicles.

Chlo496 · 09/08/2024 21:29

We have just started using the Kinderkraft Nubi 2 and I love it. Really reasonably priced, light weight and folds down to cabin size, I have a tiny boot and it fits in lovely. It lies flat comes with a rain cover, cup holder and built in insect net. There’s other nifty bits to it as well, I’d definitely recommend having a look 😃

Nov2023 · 09/08/2024 21:29

Thank you both! @LeeanneD11 The pop is on my list to investigate. Glad to hear it works well for you.
@Psqueak87 Good luck with your trip! We have an airline cabin sized pram but the grandparents reckon the fold is too tricky so we are looking for something simple.

Nov2023 · 09/08/2024 21:31

@Chlo496 Thanks!Another one to add to the list.. I wish there was a shop that had them out to view

Your very welcome :) , defo have a look , mine is the newer version of the pop xx

RhetoricalRectangle · 10/08/2024 14:29

We love our YoYo and have flown loads of times. The airline staff always ask if our buggy is a YoYo, then let us board.

Spareincoming · 10/08/2024 17:43

We’ve a mountain buggy Nano that travels well and copes with most things we chuck at it! It fits in the crew hat locker on most airlines - even Ryanair when they forget to take it off you at the gate, despite you making every attempt to give it to them!

We have an out n about nipper as well which is a fabulous thing but it is the most cumbersome thing when folded and practically takes up the car boot entirely, hence the love for the Nano!

Thanks folks. loads of great suggestions and brand I had never even heard of! The grandparents have bought their own joie litetrax. They walk quite a bit with bubs so I hope it's OK! They have also bought a joie ispin seat and seem excited to use it

LeeanneD11 · 14/08/2024 00:44

Hi ladies

My baby is currently 9 months old and cutting two bottom teeth through and is dribbling like mad , is anyone else baby teething and
What have you found that helped to settle their gums.

I've been freezing his dummy with water inside but last long for him , I also comfort him too to relax him. But he goes bed around 8pm maybe a little later has a 7oz bottle but up 3 hours later screaming so I end up putting him in my bed but I don't want to carry on like that as he settles so well In his cot .

If anyone has any recommendations that helped their little one teething any help would he much appreciated

My older 2 didn't suffer this bad when
They was babies , bonjela helped them but doesn't help this time round , we are not getting much sleep and newly single mum I'm finding it tough a little 😭😭

Thankyou for reading 🫶

Spareincoming · 14/08/2024 09:04

@LeeanneD11 I swear by Anbesol liquid from Boots, I think it’s miles more effective than bonjela. A previous health visitor also recommended ibuprofen instead of paracetamol based pain killers for teething.

Hello all,
Haven't posted here since pregnancy but hope your all doing well.
I wondered is anyone else still breastfeeding?!
I'm struggling with getting baby to stop as doesn't accept a bottle and just chews it 🙈
Any ideas of good bottles or cups at all to switch too?
He has munchkin 360 for water at meal times but still doesn't get the hang of drinking out of so have to take rubber top off which defeats object really!
I would like to get something he can have milk out of.
Any tips with this transition would be really helpful thank you!

I'm still breastfeeding! Mine has CMPA though so very low tolerance for the formula. Tried, wouldn't take it, not abnormal. Used to take expressed milk out of a bottle but now won't, nor will he take out of a cup. He prefers solids/water.

Had a meeting with dietician and essentially I'm committed to breastfeeding until he's at least 1 because there isn't really an alternative in my case with the milk allergy and formula aversion.

It's a bit easier as he has been good with weaning. He's super distracted so I can take him out at 10am, come back at 4pm and he'll only have had solids and water in that time (and plenty of them!). I'm there and have offered him several milk feeds but he just pushes it away because he wants to watch the world. He has more milk when at home.

Lillybobs86 · 14/08/2024 13:24

@FlyingHighFlyingLow Thank you for your reply so good to know I'm not the only one at 9 months still bf :))
My baby also had a small intolerance when gave small sips of Aptimal - some red spots around his mouth.
Tried a few sips of Kendamil and the second time no reaction at all.
My Gp told me to introduce again slowly and shouldn't react.
But now he rejects the bottle - it's so frustrating.
My plan was also to continue until he turned one - however he will now go to nursery slightly earlier and my health has deteriorated from the extra weight gained from feeding 🙈🤦🏽‍♀️
I need to loose some weight and also take some medication temporarily for my back pain which I can not take while feeding - all the reasons why I need to wean off at 9 months instead of 12 😞 😢

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 14/08/2024 13:34

@Lillybobs86 can you make sure you're no where near and have someone else try give a bottle when baby is super sleepy? Or try expressing a bit, and get baby back to taking that from a bottle before mixing it with formula in increasing amounts?

It's so hard. I was really ill, literally passed out. I was still lying on the floor recovering from the faint breastfeeding as he was hungry. I have a friend who literally had to go to a hotel for a couple of nights and leave the baby with dad and bottle and just let baby cry until baby took it.
