@JoyApple we had 12week jabs this week at 16wo.
With the ups and downs the last few weeks, I wouldn't have known they'd had vaccinations! A little grizzly but not bad.

@WriMum22 I've been seeing more hair loss. I desperately need a hair cut so the extra length is making it even more noticeable.

Is anyone experiencing the dreaded post partum hair loss?

I’m almost four months PP now and it’s really picking up. I’m losing so much throughout the day, it’s literally getting all over the house and then when I come to wash and dry my hair, i feel like I could make a wig with the amount of hair that comes out, it’s literally a ball of hair by the time I’ve finished blow drying. Ive noticed I’m thinning around my hair line too which is frustrating as it seems to be targeted right at the point of my parting at the front of my head, so the part that’s on show and not covered! At this point I’m just preying I’ve reached the peak! I remember seeing a dramatic improvement with my son around 5 months PP at which point it eased and went back to normal hair loss.. another month to go 🙈

I had this in my last pregnancy 5 months ago , ball of hair just kept falling out , mine was down to the fact of my thyroid, so I was put on medication for it , how ever my hair did slowly grow up after a few
Months , it is common to happen xxx

Spareincoming · 18/02/2024 11:41

@WriMum22 Yep, hair falling out all over the place! It’s happened at about the 4 month mark with all my DC but I’ve never got used to it and it’s never the grey hairs falling out either!

@Spareincoming so true, all the greys are still firmly intact haha

I remember it vividly with my son, four years ago. It was the first time I had experienced it and I found it very traumatic. I still haven’t got used to it, and although I’m not finding it as traumatic this time because I expected it, i’m still finding it quite difficult to deal with, mainly because I’m a total clean freak, with a streak of OCD, so I’m constantly hoovering up the trail of hairs I leave on the floor multiple times a day! It’s driving me crazy.

Mine’s been falling out so much the last few weeks, I’m surprised I’ve got any left! Think it has started to slow a little now though so hoping I’ve passed the peak. Not looking forward to all the terrible regrowth round the hairline at the front.

How are you and baby getting on @Spareincoming?

Alloveragain3 · 18/02/2024 18:42

12 week jabs were much better than the 8 week ones for us.

She was a bit cranky in the evening, a runny poo that night and then normal by the next day. No fever!

Spareincoming · 18/02/2024 19:56

@reememberly and everyone else who’s supported us lately, thank you so much and we’re home!
Discharged at 2.30pm, LO slept the whole 3 and a bit hours drive home… slept quietly too, which made it slightly terrifying post throat surgery!
DH has done a pretty good job of managing the school uniform washing and school tasks over the weekend so I’m breathing easier too!

Great to hear @Spareincoming Hope your little one keeps recovering well and you get a chance to decompress too!

foodislife1 · 19/02/2024 00:56

@Spareincoming glad all went well_ wishing little one. Speedy recovery
@WriMum22 hair loss has started for me too. From what I remember it was bad for a few mnths then started to ease up

DollyGx · 19/02/2024 03:23

Aww brilliant @Spareincoming must be such a relief to have it over and done with! Wishing bubs a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

reememberly · 19/02/2024 04:38

Great news @Spareincoming! Hope you’re getting a decent night’s sleep, but regardless. at least you’re in your own bed.

Travellingislife · 19/02/2024 05:24

@Spareincoming good news! Hope your LO receivers quickly at home and that you will be able to relax a little maybe too.

I’ve not started losing excessive amounts yet but I’ve always lost a lot of hair. It happened very late with my DS though, around 9 months pp I think, so I’m sure it’ll catch up with me.. I’m taking biotin, iron, zinc and selenium and hoping that will help!

Our 12 week immunisations were fine, LO didn’t seem to be bothered by them.

My LO is 3 months and we’ve definitely started the 4 months sleep regression, refusing naps and overtired, shorter sleep cycles and fussier than usual. I’m hoping it won’t be worse than this!

PinkPlantCase · 19/02/2024 13:16

Glad to hear 12 week jabs have been fairly easy going! We have ours next week.

I can’t believe how quickly DD is growing and changing!

Spareincoming · 19/02/2024 14:44

So it looks like we’ve started weaning… not really… eldest DC confessed on the school run that before we went in for the surgery, they’d let LO taste/lick some of their chocolate “in case something happened and they never got to try it.”
I probably should be cross but it’s quite a sweet, child thing to do, I think!

Those who have a “sort of” routine or are in a routine, how do you put your little one to bed? We have been doing bath at 8-8:30pm ish then upstairs for book bottle and bed at 9pm and then I will be with her from 9pm onwards upstairs. I feel like she needs to go to bed earlier as gets really cranky from about 8 but don’t really want to have to go up to bed myself at 8pm and sit in the dark in my phone for a couple of hours before I go to sleep. I heard your baby is supposed to sleep with you in the room until they are 6 months old so do people go up early or do you set up a camera etc? We have an owlet sock which she wears every night and a camera but this isn’t set up yet due to us being with her the whole time she sleeps

Thack · 19/02/2024 19:15

@Spareincoming that is super sweet ❤️
You need to get that on a frame or pendant or something.

@2023novbaby our babe insists on bedtime for 7pm ish. I haven't used bath in a routine so it's a case of biggie's bedtime is LOs process. I sometimes pop out of the room to do some chores. DH and I are both in earshot and we have camera set up.
Most nights I'm happy to have a lie down super early. I was asleep, funny clothed by 8pm one night last week.

Alloveragain3 · 19/02/2024 20:46

@Spareincoming This is adorable! I love seeing the love between siblings; just so pure.

DollyGx · 20/02/2024 08:15

Omeprazole mums - has your LO ever had constipation on it? I had bubs on it for about 5 days and for the past 2 days she has been SO unsettled and is only pooing every other day (she’s normally daily) and poos are really quite thick. She’s crying like she’s in pain. I did also (stupidly) change her formula at the same time so I’m not sure if it’s that! Changed her from kendamil goat to Hipp organic.

PinkPlantCase · 20/02/2024 09:07

@2023novbaby DD finishes her last nap at around 6:30/7pm and that helps to see her through to when we go up to bed at 9:30. If she misses that nap or it lands earlier then she struggles.

She isn’t 3 months yet though as she born at the very end of November. I’m aware that there’ll be a time before 6 months when she probably needs more of a bedtime and we will just have to sit in the dark for a bit. It doesn’t last for long. Last time around me and DH would watch something on a phone.

Nov2023 · 20/02/2024 09:15

Have any other mums decided to almost ignore reflux medically and hope baby grows out of it? Lo struggles in that he sicks up a lot but we can also see him gurning a lot of the day trying to manage reflux. He also swallows a lot of the sick so is gaining weight perfectly. We do the usual burping, feeding upright and staying upright after a feed. gaviscon didn't work and caused terrible wind which is also a problem for him.. The GP is reluctant to try anything except gaviscon probably because he is gaining weight. Should we just wait it out? The windy colic situation is improving now so maybe the reflux will too? I know there are babies with reflux medication in the group but were they gaining weight without the meds?

Thack · 20/02/2024 10:21

@Nov2023 dc1 was very sicky. We gave infacol and let them grow out of it. It wasn't distressing, just meant we went through a lot of muslins! If it's not a problem then it's not a problem!

Two awful nights now. Extra wakes and struggling to put them in the cot. Here we go!

Also had change in 💩 habits. Breastfed and has in the last week stopped pooing daily. I should be thankful but I'm more scared of an impending explosion.

LeeanneD11 · 20/02/2024 10:43

Is anyone else's baby using the bigger seat in their buggy yet? My little one hates laying down and like sitting up even In his bouncer , my LO is one 13 weeks old now

Am I best to keep in his carry cot part of the buggy or can I move him to big seat xx

Nov2023 · 20/02/2024 10:57

@Thack Infacol is a staple item in this house! He is gaining weight and is huge now but constantly clearing throat and coughing with reflux which is hard to watch and every item both of us wear ends up with sick on. I'll give it another little while and hope he grows out of it. before trying the GP again. His wind is improving and he is finally sleeping semi consistently but oden wakes up to be sick

I hope your boy's sleep regression passes soon. Bad nights must be extra hard when you finally get used to a sleep! I have it all to come but trying not to worry until it happens!

Nov2023 · 20/02/2024 10:59

@Thack oh and we also had the end of daily breastfed poops but almost daily explosions for a week first and now occasional explosions I hear while feeding but can't catch on time! Hope that passes soon too 😂

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. Hope it's okay to join? Was actually supposed to be a part of the December 2023 club but baby has to come early.

Does anyone's LO have extremely short naps? My LO won't really nap for longer than 30/40 mins. She wakes with the slightest noise.

She has a CMPA. Not sure if that her anything to do with her short naps and frequent waking?

Anyone else?x
