Yep @Nov2023 you’ve pretty much just described my baby too 🤣 it’s tough sometimes. Some days are great others are really hard. As mentioned by others I just try and watch out for sleepy cues. I’ve downloaded huckleberry but not used it yet, might give it a go. I find the more sleep she gets, the more she sleeps, if that makes sense!

Nov2023 · 15/01/2024 22:06

Thanks @Thack @DollyGx I thought it sesmed but the Internet was full of wake windows and magic babies that sleep after 90 minutes awake. Poor bbay is so unsettled today. crowd for overr 4 hours in a row this morning and looks set to beat that tonight. I love the idea of a routine rather than a schedule. we can work zowards that!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 15/01/2024 22:29

My baby is the same @Nov2023 ! He is 5 and a half weeks, was waking every 3 hours at night, now every 60-90 min for a feed, much harder to settle back into crib. He also only had 3 naps today, even a 90 min walk in the pram he didn't drift off once! He screams most of the night with gas, even worse as he's taking on so much extra food. Fussy, won't be put down, but gets upset if I cuddle him. When he doesn't have gas he's lovely, has such a cheeky smile, he's getting so strong and had to put him in 3-6 month clothes today as he's so long! I read there is a 6 weekish growth spurt, so I'm hoping it's that and will settle.

GreenAventurinee · 16/01/2024 09:17

Does anyone else’s baby HATE their bouncer/swing? She has a sling now but tbh I’m not fussed on putting her in it. It loosens and I still feel like I need to hold her with one hand.
I just want to be able to put her down for ten minutes. Her dad wfh but I don’t want her getting used to being constantly held, (which I feel maybe she is, especially with her 15 year old brother).

Is it a matter of persevering?

On the flip side, her night time sleeping is going from strength to strength so perhaps i shouldn’t complain?!

Nov2023 · 16/01/2024 12:00

@FlyingHighFlyingLow I think our babies are spirit twins right down. to the 3-6month clothes for length 🤣 My boy is also the sweetest most alert little boy when he is not refluxy or gassy so just have to remember that!

Yup, but hard to remember when you've had 4 hours sleep in 2 days 😅 fingers crossed gets better soon

My milk has stopped coming in but I'm determined to start again and pump as much as need too if that's the case , does anyone have any useful tips around this please , my little one doesn't latch well to the boob that's my only concern

Hope your all well xx

JD90 · 16/01/2024 14:27

@LeeanneD11 did you manage to contact your local infant feeding team??

JD90 · 16/01/2024 14:30

Ladies that had PGP during pregnancy, how are you getting on now? I was able to ditch the crutches and had a significant reduction in pain after I had bub but 8 and a half weeks on and it's just been the same since around week 4.
I've been back to the gym today as I know it's on me to strengthen the muscles around my pelvis back up (due to hypermobility syndrome too) but not being able to comfortably walk a good distance is annoying. I'm not the most active or enthusiastic of exercisers but I like being able to wamder for a couple of hours to clear my head and get our the house, but it hurts :(

I've got a community nursery nurse seeing me next week , for a check up for and baby would they be able to help me x

A lactation consultant would be much better placed to help. Or is there a breastfeeding group at your local children’s center?

You’ll need lots of skin to skin with baby on the breast as that will help the hormones involved in breastfeeding too.

Look at local breastfeeding charities. There is a really good one where I am. They have peer supporters that go into hospital some days to help right off the bat. They have weekday groups around the city to go to where they help 1-2-1 with latch etc. They even have a zoom support group if you can't get out.

Travellingislife · 16/01/2024 15:36

@JD90 if you have the possibility I’d go and see a physio, a women’s health physio ideally. It’s very hard being in pain

Travellingislife · 16/01/2024 15:40

How did you LO’s react after their first immunisation? We had hers today and she’s slept for 3h then she was clearly in pain and was crying for 45 mins, she doesn’t want to feed 😞 After more calpol she finally fell asleep. Her not eating worries me a little bit but hoping the next time she wakes up she’ll eat.

Travellingislife · 16/01/2024 15:48

I loved the Huckleberry app, I used it with my son but haven’t used it yet this time around. My DD has been quite predictable so far ( thank goodness and long may it last!) I will probably start around 4 months though. I felt it was very accurate with his awake and sleep windows and I just didn’t have to think 😬
I’ve not got a bedtime routine yet, well I change her into pj’s and feed her in the bedroom, maybe that counts. I always go to bed between 8-9pm as she has her longest stretch of sleep then.

Alloveragain3 · 16/01/2024 18:55

@Travellingislife My first child cried all night and was really unsettled.

This time, DC slept a lot and got quite warm. We gave her the 3 Calpol doses. She was quiet and fussy for about 24 hours.

Crazybrowncow · 16/01/2024 18:58

@Travellingislife DC didn't eat much either and then unusually (for him) projectiled twice, it was linked to giving the calpol though. I resorted to using a colostrum syringe which was a lot easier. I think if you have the wet nappies it will be ok. Hope the night goes well, I hate how unsettled the jabs make them. x

Spareincoming · 16/01/2024 21:57

We had the 12’week jabs this afternoon; LO has been very tired and not hungry. No fever though, thank goodness.

Hi everyone, need to try and keep up better, sorry. Hope everyone’s getting on ok?

@Spareincoming thanks for your chair rec ages ago, hadn’t heard of that brand and looks promising!

@JD90 PGP takes a while to go for some people (me too) and seeing a physio can help, but at 8/9wks it could still settle more by itself anyway. I’m 11wks pp today and have noticed a bit more improvement recently. For weeks there I couldn’t manage more than 10-15 mins walking before I could feel one of my hip joints hurting. I’ve been round this block before though and it did eventually go, so I know I need to be patient, hard as it is, and I’ve been building up my walking very slowly. Stretching out the muscles at the tops of the legs can help as they can get tight during the worst of the pain. Especially side stretches. I’ve just started seeing an obstetric physio for this and related issues, so I’ll pass on any other tips!

foodislife1 · 17/01/2024 14:47

Just catching up. Hope everyone is doing ok.
We're having a few days of not really feeding (snacking on boob), not napping and disturbed nights ...I'm hoping it gets better soon. Baby is 10weeks today. Anyone else experiencing the same?

Mine is feeding pretty much every hour and nights are hell. He used to go into crib easily and sleep for 2 hour stretches. Last night he went down at midnight and woke at 1, 2, 3 (and refused to go back to sleep until 6!), 6:30, 7:15, 8 at which point I gave in and got up. No idea what to do but its been 4 nights of the same. Even cosleeping doesn't settle him, he'll only sleep on my chest but I need sleep!

foodislife1 · 17/01/2024 18:15

@FlyingHighFlyingLow mine is exactly the same!!
And she's getting very upset all of a sudden. Glad we're not alone :)

PinkPlantCase · 17/01/2024 19:37

@FlyingHighFlyingLow will he feed if you lye on your side in bed? Then you can both just drift off to sleep whilst he feeds.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 17/01/2024 21:24

@PinkPlantCase he will feed lying side by side (not perfectly, haven't quite figured out the position yet, but it works). Thing is he starts screaming as soon as feed finishes even next to me. Only on my chest with me on my back will he settle or walking around.

foodislife1 · 18/01/2024 08:24

A new personal best last night. She woke every 45 mins from 1am until 4am after which I just held her.
There must be some sort of regression at 10weeks?!
