@LeeanneD11 so glad that you’re both back home 💕

JoyApple · 10/01/2024 08:57

@LeeanneD11 that's great new :)

On cradle cap, we were using aveeno shampoo and it did nothing. Switched to Johnson's and after a few weeks the cradle cap disappeared.

Ok weight, I have about 5kg to shift and it is really bothering me as I feel like I've put more on since giving birth and im getting very hungry, even though I'm not breastfeeding! I'm not going out alot in the cold so not sure how best to shift it? Reduce calorie in take I guess?

2023novbaby · 10/01/2024 14:16

@Nov2023 I had my check with GP at 8 weeks and he just took my blood pressure and asked some questions however I have just received a letter from the hospital about a appointment with the gynaecologist which I didn’t know I’d get (I did have forceps and a 3rd degree tear)

Katiec1 · 10/01/2024 17:32

@JoyApple healthier food options, calorie controlled diet and more moving is the way I’ll be doing it when I’m ready.
Just remember to go easy on yourself, 9 months on, 9 months off.

Travellingislife · 10/01/2024 20:46

@LeeanneD11 great news! You must be super happy to be back home!

Someone mentioned their baby had oral thrush- what was the symptoms? Just white coating on their tongue? Your nipples?
My DD was very upset tonight and have started refusing the bottle again, she was also upset when nursing, I think I can see a white residue inside one of her cheeks, it’s so far in though so not sure I can reach it or even have a better look.
My nipples look normal.
I guess I’ll wait and see what it’ll be like the next few feeds but it would be good to hear others experiences.

JD90 · 11/01/2024 04:16

@Travellingislife yeah we've had it for around a month now 😪 symptoms for bub are the white coating on her tongue (check for it pre feed as afterwards it can be milk residue) that was the only symptom she had but often babies will be off feeds and extra fussy. For myself it has been discomfort/pain, discomfort on letdown and stabby pains between feeds. It's different for everyone, good luck figuring it out.

2023novbaby · 11/01/2024 07:04

Baby did a long stretch of sleep from 9:30pm-5am last night however didn’t have a wet nappy since I got her ready for bed at 9:30 until 6:30am this morning. She has lots of wet nappy’s during the day and is happy and awake now. Is it okay for her to go that long without a wee? Seeing the HV tomorrow so will mention it to her then also but just looking for reassurance

WriMum22 · 11/01/2024 08:04

@2023novbaby my little girl sleeps 10pm till 5/6am and when I change her nappy in the morning it’s surprisingly light which did throw me at first, but she has the heaviest nappies in the day so I just figured she releases less whilst sleeping and lets it all out during the day. I think if she had light nappies during the day too after long stretches I’d be concerned.

foodislife1 · 11/01/2024 08:22

@WriMum22 @2023novbaby my little one also has lighter nappies at night and heavier ones during the day.
Very jealous of the long stretches of sleep you are getting! Mine still wakes every 3-4hours at night Grin

Nov2023 · 11/01/2024 09:18

@Katiec1 I think the aftercare is similar here and in Ireland. Friends all went private or semi private in Ireland but the aftercare seems the same regardless!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 11/01/2024 09:23

Last night mine wanted feeds at 11, 12, 2, 4, 5:30, 6:30 and 8:30 😅 he's not normally quite this often, usually 11, 2, 4, 7 ... but today I am veryyy tired.

Alloveragain3 · 11/01/2024 10:04

Mine had been doing 3-4 hour stretches but the last 2 nights has woken up every 1.5-2 hours!

Worst of all, she's been falling back to sleep right when my toddler wakes up.

I.Am.Tired.

Is there a 9 week growth spurt or something?!

Travellingislife · 11/01/2024 11:42

@JD90 thank you. A month sounds hard! Do you get any treatment or just leaving it?
My LO is eating well today and I’ve been trying to look in her mouth but it’s difficult, can’t see anything obvious though.

Very jealous of the long stretches of sleep your babies are doing! We tend to get 8:30pm to 1am as the longest one, normally she wakes up around midnight, and then every 2-3h.

JD90 · 11/01/2024 11:55

@Travellingislife yeah we are both currently having our second round of treatment. Unfortunately the miconazole oral gel (daktarin) which is the preferred and generally better treatment has been having a supply issue for months and months so we're having to just keep using nystatin for bub and daktarin cream on me.

PinkPlantCase · 11/01/2024 13:52

@Travellingislife and @JD90 I had nipple trush at the start of last year when I was feeding my toddler. It started because I had antibiotics for a throat infection.

It took more than 2 months to shift and we were only breastfeeding once or twice a day. It was so bloody annoying. In the end I had to have a heavy course of thrush tablets. I think it was one a day for 2 weeks and that finally shifted it.

Travellingislife · 11/01/2024 13:58

@PinkPlantCase was it painful? And was your LO suffering?
