Heartmum2Jamie · 25/02/2008 15:15

After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Happy Easter to everyone!!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekends/eating lots of chocolate!! I am excited today as my pregnancy book arrived from amazon. I got "Your Pregnancy Bible", which someone on this thread recommended, but I can't remember who, so thankyou to whoever it was! I can't put it down, it's great! It's really informative, but not at all patronising like I've heard some of the pregnancy books can be. I'm just about to start the chapter on eating well during pregnancy....I just hope she's not going to tell me I can't eat chocolate!!!

Lackadaisycal, thank you for all the info re: Leeds antenatal care, it was really useful. I am going to the docs Tue/Wed, depending when I can get an appointment, to get the ball rolling. Want to get a scan date now like lots of the other ladies on here!!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.
xx

dozymare · 22/03/2008 16:51

Hi Everyone.....hope you are all enjoying Easter and not eating to much chocolate (amazingly I have gone off Chocolate, but cannot get enough of carbs....I am the carb queen....yummy) Anyway, enough of my scoffing, just wanted to wish you all a lovely stress free (!) easter......xxx

hi havent been on in a bit and cant believe how long the list is!!

still knackered - anyone else in bed by 9pm??

also still queasy all day and have to eat like every 2 hours or i get worse.

have a wedding on monday which i am dreading as feel so sick and tired. friend who is going will be on at me for not drinking. cant tell her as she works in same field as me and i dont want word getting out as i am due back from 1st mat leave in june and want to break the news to my bosses myself. dont know how i will get through the day!

FlightyRachel · 22/03/2008 19:33

Poor MummyAnnabella you'll have to develop a fake tummy bug or something which sadly keeps you off the booze.. I'll be spending Sunday in a blizzard near Norwich shooting.. I must be mad.

To all the scan ladies.. so glad to hear all your cheery news. I am off on Friday for a repeat scan... had one a week ago, and no heart beat, but that would be because I was only 5 weeks pg.. but the scan lady decided her 'measurements' of the greying blur meant I was 6 weeks, and so she kept on and on prodding away, freaking me out a bit in the process... Hopefully I will see something more reassuring next time, and then can go public!

Rachel

PS Took my older ones to see The Spiderwick Chronicles today, it's good!

Emmanj · 22/03/2008 19:37

MummyAnnabella - im also going to a wedding on Monday and trying to avoid giving it away. can you not drive and use that as an excuse?
Happy Easter evryone!

divedaisy · 22/03/2008 21:23

MummyAnnabella and Emmanj someone earlier on this thread suggested carrying a glass of wine with you when out in order to stop people asking! This may work. Also if someone asks if you want a drink say Yes! You can always donate it to someone else (DH/DP) or water the plants with it!!! Hope the weather is OK for a wedding! I believe there are snow storms on their way - is that true??

twinklingfairy · 22/03/2008 21:31

I am knackered!
I think it is cos of all the late nighters I was putting in to make DD's blanket. Yeah right, fairy reminds herself, um it could be cos your pregnant

I have now made all my squares, now I just have to put them together. boooring!
So I am putting it off.
Silly really I was so excited to make them, now I can't be bothered with the final hurdle.

Oh dear poor you mummyannabel and Emmanj it won't be nice to have to spend the day dodging questions and making up stories.
Esp you MummyA, if you are feeling so rough.
Reckon EmmanJ is right antibiotics must be on the cards for your stomach ulcer (? couldn't think of anything else) See, I am glad I don't have anything to go to, I am rubbish at making up stories.
It is just as well my mum hasn't asked me outright yet or I would not cope!
My neighbour did the other day and I know she now knows but she will wait until I officially tell her and I know she is discreet.
Should just have told her really, I was so rubbish at dodging it. The dumb grin was a bit of a give away I think!

Emmanj · 22/03/2008 23:11

Evening all, have just got back from being out to dinner with friends - was so boring drinking water when everyone else was on the wine!!! went through 4 bottles of mineral water so i guess i'll be on the loo all night now - although that wont make much of a change recently!
Like the idea of carrying a glass of wine round to 'fool' people - thanks for the tip divedaisy

Yorky · 23/03/2008 08:29

Hi mummyannabel, if you're still on mat leave your DC must be even younger than mine and I was starting to worry that I was mad for having them so close - everyone else seems to leave 2-3yrs between!
twinkling, you are just like my mum, she can knit really quickly but doesn't like making up! I got quite a few of DSs things in 'kit form'! I'm much quicker at sewing than knitting
We're away next week so my Drs appt isn't till April but hopefully then things should move fairly quickly? (fingers crossed!)
My DB and SIL are here atm and expecting their first in July, it is so hard not to tell them but want my parents to be the first to know and we're seeing them next week. BF knows because she comes on here, and my buggyfit teacher
because I thought that was only sensible.
Good luck to everyone with weddings and public drink dodging!

MummyAnnabella · 23/03/2008 10:00

flighty - had thought of a tummy bug but problem will be i will wolf my meal down and be snacking all day!! good luck with your scan.

emmaj - cant use driving as reception is 3 hours away and we are all booked into castle overnight.

antibiotics thing just wouldnt work as it is way too obvious. think i will stick to divedaisy suggestion of carrying drinks and ditching and secretly buy lemonade and get barman to put lime in it like gin and tonic!! worked last time at a wedding but then we were only at evening do - it is the wine at the table that will be giveaway when i never need topped up which never normally happens!!

yorky - there will be 15 months between ds and this one!! how about you? mind you it could be even less as ds came 2 months early and who knows if this one will too!! didnt quite expect it to happen so fast but think in the long run it is good thing. get it all done with in a haze of a few years of being pg and up in the night etc. mind you think this will be last as i hate being pg - for me it was easier to have prem baby and emerg section etc that to have the constant sickness.

Hi,

I keep meaning to wait till I've read the whole thread before joining - but it just gets longer and longer. So can I join now and catch up as we go along? I'm due on the 26th. I have a 20 mo ds. I'm already feeling sick, but it may just be a bug that dh and I have. I'm hoping it will clear up and I'll have a good week before the ms really sets in. I was horribly sick till 16 weeks last time, so I'm quite scared heading into the first trimester this time.

Anyway, congrats to everyone.

why oh why did I think it was a good idea to eat so much chocolate? Yuk

Emmanj · 23/03/2008 13:55

Congrats tryingtoleave on your pg , hopefully you wont get too sick this time. Im keeping my fingers crossed, 7 weeks and no ms yet.
also regret eating so much choc juanitad - was hoping to get out and walk it off today but its snowing here and miserable out...and to make matters worse DH is glued to the Grand Slam Sunday footie! Raaahhh!

Ash80 · 23/03/2008 14:42

hi Tryingtoleave, i too meant to catch up on the thread , but it is way too long.

Bettispaghetti · 23/03/2008 14:44

Happy Easter everyone!

Congrats to all the new BFPs (too many to mention)

I'm 7+4 now. Anyone else experiencing leaky boobs. By the end of the day my boobs are rock solid and sooooo tender and the last few nights the left one has been leaking a bit. Thought this wasn't supposed to happen until the end.

Also anyone else still waiting to hear from midwife. I was told by GP she would call me 2 weeks ago but still not heard anything. My GP is booking my scan but I've since found out I can have it at the community hospital that is much closer so would like to find out whether it would be possible to swap. Figured the mw would know but can't ask her if she doesn't call!!

Off to scoff some more chocolate.....

Yorky · 23/03/2008 14:53

Wow, congratulations Ash80 and tryingtoleave, I'm not bottom of the list any more!
Am now feeling distinctly queasy - would have been fine if I hadn't had the sticky toffee pud as well as the carvery!!!
And this morning I had 2 breakfasts as I got up so much earlier than everyone else and had 1st breakfast porridge with DS, then bacon butties 2hrs later!
I seem to be heading for the little and often approach as I have a kind of aftertaste in my mouth when I'm not eating! Its nice in a strange way as I feel different to normal, whereas with DS nothing changed.
