After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Oh docswife I hope that you get your meeting with the midwife soon so you can tell her your fears. Isn't MN just fab, cos you can at least talk to someone and get feedback almost immediately. My DH found this sight when PGY with DD and has regretted it ever since

Have you been to doc yet?
I don't know when to do it.
Thinking after I have told parents cos that is prob when it all becomes real.

Good evening all, I've had a day feeling hungover but it certainly ain't from the wine.

I am now going through the whole - well if I get to 12 weeks things can still happen at 20wks / 25 wks etc. We have to think up strategies to just get on, enjoy what we can, knowing what will be will be and that we will be strong enough to take whatever comes our way.

Here's to Que Sera Sera with big s

Roca · 18/03/2008 18:42

Am of those November EDD's that are now nearly 8 weeks - at just over 5 so even that seems an age away! Thank goodness for Easter W/e as I think that will make time go a bit quicker.

Has everyone put their scan dates on the list so we can be thinking of you in the next couple of weeks?

Purlease · 18/03/2008 18:43

hanaflower I tried that with my Dh first time around. Also we had friends around to dinner and I insisted on filling drinks in kitchen so noone noticed me filling my glass with schloer rather than wine - he got really drunk and insisted on me bringing my bottle of white to the table to save me getting up all the time

Like your logic Twinklingfairy about support - I plan on holding out for the 12 weeks but nort sure I can.

Have had a call from a recruitment agency with a potentially great job with a great company closer to home [bad timing]. May tell them before family as I think it is polite to explain why I won't be moving jobs for a while.

cricri · 18/03/2008 19:25

Evening everybody. I've been away for a few days and I certainly had some catching up to do! Several new faces too - welcome. Sorry to hear that we've had some bad news too. Rip Hope you're doing as well as can be expected.
Scully Any news today?
I've been reassured reading the posts that my fluctuating symptoms are entirely normal. I suppose I should be grateful that I felt fine during my weekend away because I now feel really yuck. Felt nauseous most of today and don't really know what I want to eat. I've got some of those anti-nausea acupressure wristbands and they seem to be helping a little.
I'm also getting really fed up with the local private hospital. I've been trying to arrange an early scan with them for the past week as I'm not entitled to one on the NHS having only had one mc. Nobody ever answers the phone in the ultrasound dept. so I've left countless messages and they just never get back to me. I'm going to ring my GP tomorrow and see if she can do anything because this is really frustrating. I just want a scan to make sure there's something there this time and not have to wait until 12 weeks. Sorry for the rant, but I'm getting really fed up with this. As we haven't told anybody in RL yet I can't moan to friends either.
Hope everybody else is OK.

Roca · 18/03/2008 20:28

Have you all snuck off to bed again and left me alone working?

lackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2008 20:42

I'm lurking Roca

hi to newbies. This thread is going to be blooming huge (like us). Maybe we need to split it into a Due at the beginning and a Due at the end of November

One of the women on my june PN thread sent me a huge box of maternity clothes as she isn't having any more. I'm sitting in a pair of over the bump jeans and feeling a bit that they are sooooo comfy.

My body has just given out a big sigh and relaxed; and I think I look about five months pregnant already .

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 20:46

Hi roca I am normally here at nights.
What do you do that you are working?
How many weeks are you?

Roca · 18/03/2008 20:48

hey lackadaisycal - to spilt the group - I like that we are all here together. Am a little worried that the next 8 mos may go slightly slower by checking on MN every couple of hours though!

Roca · 18/03/2008 20:52

Hi twinkling - since having children and dabbling with various careers (currently v.happy to be out of the rat race)I now freelance and am able to do 1 day in the office and 2 days worth of work from home - means I can enjoy being a mum in the day and still bring in much needed funds for the mortgage. Only downside is that I have to knuckle down a few evenings a week when DH gets home and get on with it. At least Corry can be on in the background.

That's why am such a night owl as often have my 'me' time on the sofa at about midnight. Am busy organising an event at the moment...

Roca · 18/03/2008 20:53

oh - am 5 weeks btw - have 2 DC - DS age 3 and DD age 2 - throw another one in to the chaos that is my life, I say!

Roca · 18/03/2008 20:55

also forgot to say - my work involves a lot of staring at my laptop - hence why I flit around here in the evenings!

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 21:07

OMGoodness, 3,2 and another on the way!?
Crazy? perhaps

I am a night owl too, but not cos I have been working. I have craft projects on the go all the time and get addicted to them.
At the mo I am increasing the baby blanket I made for DD when I was pregnant, so knitty knitty.
Just one more row and then I will go to bed, honest! (that is my evening mantra)

I have a DD who is 18mo. (And a DH who is going on 15 teehee)

Roca · 18/03/2008 21:20

definitely crazy:0

My life involves chasing my tail then chasing my tail some more

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 21:24

And I am worrying (only a little though, mainly OTM) about having 2 LO's

lackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2008 21:27

i was only kidding Roca . It's nice that it;s a busy chatty thread.

twinkling, I found going from one to two quite a challenge, but there is a 5 year gap between them. I've been assured that two to three is much much easier!

Yorky · 18/03/2008 21:30

Hello everyone, can I join you?
I got my BFP this morning and was surprised and really pleased. I didn't think this was going to be my month as I've been feeling a bit crampy the last couple of days, in a moment of weakness I tested anyway, what a great start to the day!
DH's face when I went downstairs when I asked him for hi opinion on the number of lines as he realised what it was...!
I think baby is due Nov 23rd
DS is nearly 14months so there will be just 22 months between them if it all goes OK.
Will be seeing my parents next week so can't not tell them when we've got the opportunity so do it face to face. Even though mum told me off for telling her too early last time!
Twink, I have asked BF to photocopy her pattern for a baby blanket so I shall be joining you on the just one more line!

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 21:38

Yeah yorky I am sure you were on the TTC threads, weren't you?

So pleased to have a knitting partner. My DH giggles at me knitting away like a little old lady. Was bad when I was cold and threw a blanket over my legs though He was in bed by that point so that was better.

I made DD's blanket whilst working in a shop, so would have to hide it under the counter when people came in. Boy would I curse the interuption

twinklingfairy · 18/03/2008 21:39

Oh thanks Dasiy, I will just have to 'suck it and see' The deed is done now

Roca · 18/03/2008 22:11

For me there will never be such a shock as going from none to one - talk about knock me for 6 - I have been surrounded by nieces and nephews and friends with children for years but I can honestly say I was not prepared for how massive the impact was!

Why did no one warn me!!!!

I remember standing with DS in arms about 7 wks old waving bye to DH as he trotted off to watch footie and then to pub whilst I sat inside with sore nipples and a floppy belly - BIG SHOCK! I felt like I lived in a bubble for about 12 weeks.

I do love it though - I have now been well and truly pushed over the edge so no more harm can be done!

Twinkling - I loved 1 to 2 - felt like a lovely family unit then

lackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2008 22:13

I'm another knitter, although I'm queen of the unfinished object at the moment!

hi yorky and congratualtions

Roca · 18/03/2008 22:14

Can anyone on here say they honestly find parenting & the (endless, endless, endless) domestic chores that parenting entails totally easy and natural?

Don't anyone dare answer yes! (if you do then can I have some coaching please)

Roca · 18/03/2008 22:15

Hi Yorky too - can anyone knit me a missing sock?!

lackaDAISYcal · 18/03/2008 22:18

pmsl roca....you sound like my kind of parent

and i don't find it easy, not at all.

I have a friend who does though and I'm very . She travelled from the South of Spain back to the North of Scotland overland with a double buggy (filled with two toddlers), a fully laden rucksack, and six months pregnant! I wouldn't have made it six feet with all that going on!

chocolategal · 18/03/2008 22:22

twinklingfairy- thankyou for slotting me in the right place!!
oops!
