After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

roca, same as lackadaisycal, my right sided pain from the corpus luteal cyst on my right ovary too and docs said nothing to do with my bleeding and pain really normal. just so you know where it came from

Roca - you said you had these pains with your DS?

I've not added myself onto this thread yet - was waiting till I was a bit further gone. I've had a bit of spotting and painful cramps for 48 hours now. Am fearing the worst.

Sorry for bit of a downer girls. Am trying to stay positive, I really want this November baby!!

RipMacWinkle, welcome to the thread, glad to be here to support you. how far are you?
fearing the worst is horrid, know how it feels. go to your EPDU and get a scan, find out what's happening. phone your gp as they should be able to get you in or go via the a&e route.

Thanks OddEyes - I really don't want to be a downer over here. Everyone is so happy.

By my calcs I'm only 5 1/2 weeks so it's early days. I called NHS24 yesterday who told me basically to sit tight, try to relax (even the girl was laughing at that 'cause she could hear DS in the background) and give them a call back if anything changes.

I'm now just waiting for it to stop (hopefully!), turn red (please no) or get another week or two along so at least I can get scanned and find out what's happening.

mine red and i am still pregnant and everything in right place, stay positive. my mum (obstitrican) said she thinks it is fine.

how old is ds? mine just 1. i am lying on sofa reading stories. place is a pig-sty but it can wait dh or two weeks. i am planning on going to bed everytime he does

MN is so good for sharing where your at and people understanding. keep sharing we all want the best for each other.

Thanks OddEyes. You're a life saver. DH is away for a couple of days so it's just me and DS (17 months). We haven't told anyone in RL yet so it's good to share with someone. I feel like I'm going crazy here!

I only found out last night. I am a daibetic on a pump, and mmc last Nov, at about 6 weeks, woth an ERPC, similar time to Expat, and was already on an Antenatal thread, so am very anxious.
We don't want to tell anyone.
So prasie God for MN where I can tell all you guys.
I am a bit confused by my EDD - I know all the calculators are diff, but I know that my last period was 11/2/08. I know that we BD on 22/2/08 - which incidentally was my fertile day, per one of those calculators, that I then found out was silly, becasue a woman could ovulate on any day .
But isn't it funny that I did actually concieve on the actual day that the calculator said. LOL - I bet I am unusual on MN for that.
So it is saying 17/11/08 or 18/11/08, but it is saying that my conception date was 25/2/08 - thats not right, is it ?

Anyway, I must ring Kings, who deal with my pump. I don't want to give birth in Kings again. Their care is the best, but before I got up at 6am , train to waterloo, bus to Kings, for a 9am scan. Then saw diabetic team and midwives, often leaving mid afternoon. Got hhome at dinnertime. It is practically a 12 hour round trip.
Ds is 4.2 and starts school in Sept.
I just don't think I can do it. mY local hospital are starting a pump clinic, (been promising for years) , but not sure when.

Anyway, enough. I am pleased. Very frightened.

EDD is not an exact science is it ? We get pre-occupied thinking my baby is due on .... but. Also from the time you BD, it could take up to 3 days, right ?

I go out for 1 day and I return to be completely lost as to who is who... (Pregnancy Brain) BUT CONGRATULATIONS to all new comers and Happy Belated Birthday DIVE....

Lackadaisycal - I also have a pain in my right ovary so hope that when I eventually get a scan they tell me it is a harmless cyst. Does yours feel strained when you wee?? Strange question but mine does. Also twinges every now and again.

Saw Hairspray the musical yesterday and it was wonderful, so if any of you ladies need to do something to get your mind off constantly worring (like me) i would recommend it. PEA did not however like the tube system!!! I felt like shouting down the carriage "Please be careful I have a PEA on board"... They would probably have got me arrested though

I've turned into a nutter and think the postman thinks i fancy him as i launch myself at him to collect the post, in the hope that an appointment comes for 6 week scan (although would prefer to go nearer 7 weeks).

great to read about so many positive early scans. i cant wait to see mine to know its all safe and sound but real! I dont think I can make my DH understand how tired I feel. I think he thinks its the same as a long day at work. I asked him to remember the worst jetlag ever and quadruple it. The worst thing is that despite being exhausted I just cannot sleep. not afternoon nap, not staying awake in the hope of crashing at 9pm. Nada!

Food tastes bland as hell and so im not enjoying eating anything but I cannot stop smelling the clean washing. I even took massive gulps sniffing near a woman in the doctors. How bloody weird. I cant be bothered with food treats but i keep sticking my head into clean crisp cotton!it is only on here that I can reveal what a total freak this baby has made me already!

still doesnt feel real, i think my EDD is about the 21st novemeber, but as i developed gestional diabetes in last pregnancy and suspected GD in second pregnancy (dd2 was 9lb a week early so the docs are a bit as i was tested that pregnancy) chances are, i will develope it again and will be induced about 2 weeks early again.

Morning sickness kicked in before i even tested positive. i am wearing sea bands which have taken t he edge off but i am still heaving a lot, not actually being sick yet. I am hoping its not as bad as before. ended up in hospital last time.

I must get a docs appointment and get booked in. qwe get scans here at 12 + 20 weeks. Will probably get sent to Guys for fetal cardiac scans as well. Which i dont like doing, as hospital are pretty certain peters heart problems were caused by a virus and not genetic.

pinkali, that sounds exactly like it, but I tore some ligaments last pregnancy which isn't properly healed so I noever know what pain is what down there!

oblomov, according to what I've read, sperm can stick around for up to 5 days, and some eggs implant slightly later so it all adds up. I'll be telling people sometime around the beginning of November and not actually telling them the date.

misdee, have you told your other DCs yet? my smart alec 5 yo DS guessed as he saw I'd dragged Lesley Regan off the bookshelf and seen the folic acid.

I'm also having problems with food. yesterday I mostly lived on cheese. I popped to the shops for pizza for DSs tea and bought a few bits. when I unpacked at this end, I had bought five different kinds of cheese in various forms! and everything tastes bland as hell.

Missdee - loved your thread yesterday and welcome to the group! I too am monitored for GB as I have PCOS and UAT. Was ok last pregnancy but have delivered a 10lb!! Just a question, do you take metformin? My consultant put me on that for the PCOS and I know it is usually prescribed for Diabetics.........if so what dose are you on???

last time i managed to keep it under control with diet. as i am already on a healthy diet with slimming world, hopefully i can do the same this time.

I don't have any symptoms at all. But then I think I am only 4 weeks. Apart from eating for England, that I have been doing for the last 3 days.
I had no symptoms, until we did a test last night, and then straight after I felt very pregnant. Ha ha. Psychological - LOL !

Oblomov - you sound like me!! I feel a bit sick in the afternoon but really am sure that is a psychosamatic (sic) feeling! When are you estimateing your due date?

hello everyone. Welcome to the latest BFP's.

Divedaisy - do you have a scan today?

Period pains not as bad today - but have got a little bit pubic ache. With my DS age 3 I noticed everything and had a lot of period type pains (so I know they are normal) but with DD (age 2) I don't think I noticed anything and really just got on with it as had a 7 month old to deal with.

I hate that recent m/c makes me more aware of how I'm feeling now and I'm already annoyed at the amount of times I have to heave the kids in and out of the car each day but a. what choice to you have and b. can it really make any difference to what might happen?

Can a MC really be avoided?

P.S. Just had beans on toast - can't remember the last time I had that - I am already going through that 'just don't know what I fancy to eat' stage which is a little reassuring as I know there must be some hormones flying around. (actually I had beans last night too - I see a pattern occuring here!)

If only not fancying anything would make me stop eating as opposed to trying a bit of everything!!!!
