After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Gawd, look at how our list is growing! November is going to be a very 'sitting on the edge of your seat' month, what with someone scheduled to deliver pretty much every day!

Oddeyes - so pleased that the scan was good and reassuring. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Roca - I feel a bit like that at the moment. Hungry but not really fancying anything. Apart from cake and I purposefully haven't got any in the house. I've just had some weight watchers tuna on 2 slices of toast with a glass of milk. Still feeling hungry and still wanting cake. AGH.

Good morning ladies.

I went to see my gp this morning and she did a vag ultra sound scan. either my dates or wrong, or something's wrong, but I'm not 7 weeks as thought and could be a lot earlier than that as the blob is very small. Iexpected to see a heartbeat but too small. GP sending me to my hospital over the next week or so for an early scan to check everyting's ok. if I bleed meantime I'v to hotfoot it to the hosp. Very anxious.

What is an early scan??

Hi Divedaisy - an early scan is usually carried out at your EPAU and is a very good indication of how old your little one is! I too am waiting for an appointment as not 100% on my dates either. I look on it as a good thing as you don't have to wait so long!!!!

Roca - I MC before both of my 2DS and it is a natural reaction to worry at every twinge. Unfortunately i don't think anyone relaxes once they have been through what we have and for me is the negative of being PG. Love your beans on toast cravings....I posted yesterday that I went shopping and bought 4 types of pasta and I am not a carb lover!! Wonder if craving carbs indicates sex of the baby - anyone??!!!

Ah ha... so I imagine I have a cyst. It doesn't feel like anything sinister as It feels just like my endoetriosis pain when I imagine i have cysts on ovaries, so hopefully not effecting PEA...

Hairspray - you must go !! Great 2 1/2 hrs in which to relax and enjoy good music and dancing. Michael Ball was a scream dressed as a woman.

So came in from shopping and phone was ringing and it was the EPAU saying they had been trying to get hold of me. I did explain that I worked 3 days a week.. derrr.. anyway I am booked in for a scan which thank the lord is on teh day i turn 7 weeks on 26th March. So of course now I am soooo worried and anxious that they won't see anything as I really do not feel pregnant. Although everytime I say that I add another symptom to the list. Tender boobs and complete tiredness. HAve just been asleep on settee!! LIke you Doctorswife I don't think my DH understands and thinks I shoudln't feel any more tired than him doing a days work. I asked him if he would like to push a watermelon through his penis this morning and thenhe could understand what women go through, strangely he said "no".. bless him, he is great.

Divedaisy - Sorry misread your last post. I'm sorry that the dates are slightly wrong and that you didn't see what you expected to see. Let's hope you're bean is a little boy so he is alittle behind all those girly sperms so he is taking his time (like most men) to show up on a scan. I am also having an early scan (meant to be 6 weeks but has turned out to be a 7 week scan) so I know exactly how anxious you are. I just keep expected them to say (again) nope nothing there and I am dreading it. All we can do is think positive and pray. I just hope that all is well for us both. I am off for an early scan as my doc has managed to convince the EPAU that I am a nutter and likely to barge in a place the scan equipment on my tummy without an appt and cos I had m/c last Oct. I think he managed to play on my Endometriosis too. As my Consultant said to me, there is absolutely no reason for me to worry that the same thing is going to happen. So in the words of all good doctors, "try not to worry and relax" - BLOODY EASY FOR THEM TO SAY!! Just take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing, you know where we are..xxxx

Adding myself to the list. i have a GP's appointment for the 2nd april, so a while yet. i guess i wont have a scan until mid-may.

"Morning sickness" started today. Although with me its more feeling crap and weak all day long. Cravings for fried egg and tinned tomatoes on toast have started as well - had that when pregnant with my DD and DS. Also craving for earl grey tea!
Yesterday, DS who has just turned 2 was expressing loads of interest in a baby when I asked him if he would like a baby he said yes so enthusiastically - sooo sweet.
Still not been to doctor - maybe next week!

Roca - know what you mean about having a mc and how it really changes how confident you are about your pregnancy. I think yes I'm pregnant but far from sure that will have a baby. This is so different to how I was with my first 2, I did not doubt that I would have a baby in each case, I just took it for granted that everything would be fine.
Remember biggest cause of mc is chromosomal problems - lifting kids has no impact on this.

Hope you ladies all have a nice weekend. I started on ginger biscuits today - recommend them!

Hey all, how depressing - have given myself the night off cooking so getting a take-away (even though I still have to do some work) and I don't even know what I fancy!!!!

Actually, just a big bowl of mash potato would do me!

I don't believe you can predict but.....this was how I was with my son - so fingers crossed I will be able to look back at this in 8 months to see if I was right!

uh oh - husband has just asked what food I would like...um......

Have got to stop getting down about every pain or tweak - as have lots of positive symptoms grrrrr - I just said 'uh oh' once today when I thought I felt what might have been blood but it wasn't at all.

I know if I was reading this as someone else I would totally tell myself to get over it!

Hey Roca...most of us are the same....I have erm.."knicker checked" about 3 times today already....i think if you have Mc'ed you are always paranoid...we will be fine!! Let's get over ourselves together with a nice bowl of creamy cheesy mash!!

I love nice creamy mash. For the last 2 months with DD2 I was obsessed with Mr Mash made up with lashings of butter. I usually hate the packet stuff but could not get enough of it.

Ohh, I had ready mash from the supermarket for lunch today, the one with cabbage & onions in to make it a little healthier. For now I will just ignore that there was double cream in it!

how funny. Now I must get on with work...

Ok here's a weird thing we are ALL craving carbs.....from 4 different types of pasta to mash to even creamier mash...and of course mash with veg!! is that a early pregnancy thing or all we all having the same sex? Now that would be interesting to track....Have a lovely evening...I'm off for a carb overload!!!

Sorry my earlier message was a bit short. I am so so worried now. My GP was great today and hopefully I conceived later than usual. i was on the pill and my last period was 26/27th Jan, so I should be 7 weeks or so by now, so it was horrible when my gp wasn't able to show me the heartbeat. I can only hope and pray that the blob in the sac (I saw there was something there) will continue to get bigger. Ive an appointment next Friday at my hospital at the Early Pregnancy Clinic. Does anyone know what they will do? What different scans can they do other than a vaginal ultrasound scan? Will bloods be taken? God a week seams so long to wait! But for now no bleeding which I suppose is an excellent positive. When my gp asked me do I feel pregnant, I said Yes, but now I'm doubting what I feel! My boobs definately are bigger and sore, and I have a slight distaste in my mouth of eating stamps. I also have a mild pain down low on the right-hand side. And i'm very tired, but anyone would feel tired when faced with this worry.

DH has been good about it. What will be will be, is his moto. ANd I do agree with it, but....

divedaisy, try not to worry. I was the same yesterday thinking that we'd see a heartbeat and she could barely even make out the foetal pole. I'm erring on it being a slow and lazy boy and the egg didn't fertialise until five days after DH and I did the deed, and then it implanted later (I had a bit of bleeding last Saturday night). That would make me only just 5 weeks rather than the 6+ I thought I was.

I'm going to chase up my community MW on Monday though and see if she can chase up a scan date at the earliest. Last time I didn't get my booking appointment until 10 weeks and my scan was at 13+3, and that was supposedly with an early referral due to my history of mc!

I want to thank you all. I've just spent the past few minutes reading back onthe last few pages on all your experiences, and to be honest you lot have given me more hope. God I'm crying when I say this... I really expected to see the heartbeat, and I was so shocked when it wasn't there. I never once thought about the 3-5 day life of sperm and late implantation, so that has given me a lift. Thank you ALL OF YOU!! But I feel like I'm about to have a bleed...yet this feeling has been there for the past few weeks since the BFP...

On the subject of the 3-5 day rule, I think I remember reading that the X chromosome (which combines with our X chromosome to make a girl 'XX') survives the longest after ejaculation, so if you're trying for a girl you need to have to get jiggy about 4 days before you ovulate. If you're after a boy ('XY') have jiggy on or after the date of ovulation as the Y chromosome apparantly only survives a short while!
