After a bit of cajoling from some friends (some of whom I hope can join me here soon), I decided to take the plunge and start this thread.

Anyway, I have just found out I am pregnant again, got a BFP on Saturday 23rd at 12dpo, which gives me an EDD of 3rd November 2008 (or the 4th, depending on which calculator I use). This is my 4th pregnancy and will be my 3rd child. I am super excited and a little scared & nervous after a previous missed miscarriage.

I hope I don't get too lonely waiting for more BFP's to roll in! Please come and join me.

Hi Mum2oozie, I'm 5 weeks today and had m/c last Oct at about the same time so am praying everything is ok. I feel so much better this time. Hope you are ok, and you know we're all here to support you. x

Pinkali37 · 12/03/2008 11:56

Has anyone else got a strange dragging feeling when you wee?

mum2ozzie · 12/03/2008 11:58

Hi Pinkali & thanks. I found Mumsnet brilliant support when it happened. I'm sooo happy today but in the back of my mind constantly is the thought that we've got so far to go still. Have you been to the Drs yet? I'm undecided as to whether to leave it a couple of weeks or not?

Pinkali37 · 12/03/2008 12:02

I went at 4 weeks and 1 day as I just needed to make myself feel like I was doing everything I could. He is supposed to have faxed my EPU to ask for a 6 week scan for me as I am becoming a littel nutty about my last m/c although as my Consultant said, there is no reason to think this preg is not going to be normal. As yet I haven't received an appt. Every day I feel we are a step nearer. I want to get ms so I know things are ok and normal (ask me how i feel if i get it and i imagine i would do anything to get rid of the feeling).

There is no reason not to go to the Doc, it gets things flowing!

cricri · 12/03/2008 12:10

Hello everybody,
I'm another newbie - got a BFP on 1 March and have been lurking on this thread since then. I had a mmc last September and found it really hard to leave the AN thread I was on so I was going to wait before joining this one. However, you all seem really nice and I know a few of you from other mc threads so I'm going to risk it DH and I have told very few people in RL about this new pg so it's nice to have other people to share it with.
I'm due sometime at the beginning of November. LMP dates not accurate as I ov'd CD 21/22, I think. I'm trying to sort out an 8-week scan at the moment for reassurance after last time and to get a better idea of dates.
Morning (or rather afternoon/evening) nausea kicked in yesterday for the first time so I feel a bit more pg now!
Mum2ozzie I remember you from the March 08 thread. Come and join us in Knicker-checkers anonymous (under pregnancy) for pregnancy after-miscarriage support.

mum2ozzie · 12/03/2008 12:32

Hi Crici, I was going to wait to join too but DH and I have decided not to tell anyone this time until after the scan and I desperately need to talk about it! How can you get an early scan? I asked at the hospital after my M/c and they said no extra scans were provided unless you had had at least 3 m/cs? Thanks for tip about knicker-checkers - will sign in there too & think I will go to drs tomorrow - I also need to feel like I'm doing something.

Pinkali37 · 12/03/2008 13:06

Hi Mum2ozzie, i'm hopefuly having a 6 week scan even though I have only had 1 m/c. My consultant is writing to my doc to recommend btu when i spoke with doc he said he would fax the hospital to ask but he said the same as yours. He is going to play on the mc and my severe endo... Just want to see a heart beat, until then, it doesn't feel real. This is my #1 so all very strange. xx

cricri · 12/03/2008 13:22

Pinkali Fingers crossed you get your 6 week scan! I wish I'd pushed my GP a bit more when I saw her last week now. She just said it wasn't Trust policy to offer early scans after 1 mc and gave me a referral form for the local private hospital.
Mum2ozzie Saw you'd found Knickercheckers anonymous. Lots of support on there and several of us at the early stages of pg too.
Scully at the doctor's receptionist for worrying you like that. Hope it's nothing serious.
Hope everybody else is OK today. I've just had my lunch and have had to undo the top button of my trousers!

Pinkali37 · 12/03/2008 13:40

How far are you Crici?

lackaDAISYcal · 12/03/2008 13:58

gosh there are lots of us on both threads now!

here's to an uneventful few weeks.

I've been feeling queasy all day but not sure whether it's tummy bug or MS. I went through the fridg last night sniffing at things asnd asking DH if they smelled alright to him. Everything has taken on a slightly metallic taste which is not altogether pleasant.

Pinkali37 · 12/03/2008 14:00

Ooh Lackadaisy, how far are you again? My mum had that Metallic taste but I as yet don't seem to have it. Have you gone off coffee aswell?

Heartmum2Jamie · 12/03/2008 14:58

Coffee is bluergh! It is one aversion I have had with all of my pregnancies. DH made himself a coffee this morning to drink before he left for work and I had to ask him to take it into the other room, the smell was overpowering and just yuck! He actually said "No coffee.... again?!"

Hi and welcome to the newbies! Congrats on your BFP's. I am another who has had a miscarriage between my boys and am still finding it hard to let go and relax with this pregnancy. This week especially is proving very difficult. Definately drop by the knicker checker thread in pregnancy.

I actually wish I could call the hospital and say "Look, I will give you £20 if you'll scan me now", lol! Unless I have pain or bleeding they won't scan me just for reassurance. There is a place in Brum that does private early screening scans, but £75 is alot of money and how would I feel having spent that kind of money and something was wrong? Roll on 12 weeks already I say!

Creena · 12/03/2008 14:58

Hi to cricri and mum2ozzie - congratulations, both! Stick yourselves on our lovely stats list if you like!

browny - thanks for reminding me about that programme. I was planning to watch it but had forgotten, so will set a reminder for it (if I remember)!

I'm going to be popping out in about 10 minutes to go for a scan - bascially, I've started bleeding today. It's bright red and more than what I would normally call spotting. My GP was great and arranged a scan for me this afternoon. I'm trying to stay hopeful but I have to admit to having a bad feeling about it all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though. I'll see you all later on today at some point.

Heartmum2Jamie · 12/03/2008 15:04

Creena, I have absolutely EVERYTHING crossed for you. I had a subchorionic bleed with both my ds's. I bled with ds1, but not ds2. I hope it is nothing more than something like that.

Pinkali37 · 12/03/2008 15:10

Good Luck Creena, will be thinking about you and hope all is well. xx

OddEyes · 12/03/2008 15:12

hey creena, praying for scan. i am in same position. spotting started yesterday. blood hasn't made it to knickers today as have been going to toilet so much to check (to much detail?)
seeing gp at 4.30pm, was just about to go to a&e but she said i wouldn't get seen today anyway and she will be able to book for tomorrow hopefully.

kegs82 · 12/03/2008 15:41

Welcome to all new BFP's. I'm feeling bit better today but do sympathise with bloating as been undoing belt and buttons and belt after meals for last couple of days.

I've got Dr appointment to confirm on Mon and get things rolling but not sure what to expect as only moved her in Sept. In Greenock never saw Dr during pregnancy. Only handed in sample then they prescribed folic acid and set up booking in appointment with Midwife so if anyone knows can tell me how it works in Forth Valley would be grateful. In Greenock all antenatal in Greenock but went to Paisley for births. Had scans at 12 wks and 20 wks and was even told sex of DD2 at 20 wk scan after asking which was nice as had fun looking out all our favourate tiny DD1's outfits that we'd kept.

Creena I hope all is well at your scan. I've got everything crossed for you.

Scully I'm and can understand why you so at your Dr receptionist. It was probably just them wanting to make booking appointment or let you know everything ok but still think it wrong. Make sure you let them know how worried you've been.

Sorry post so long.

I've added myself to the list - the EDD of 8 November is a guess at the moment. I think I'm 5+4 at the moment based on OV date, but LMP makes me 6+4 so who knows.
Creena Have absolutely everything crossed for you. Let us know how you get on.
Oddeyes Good luck at the doctor's later.
