Sorry i haven't been about. Have been reading, but feeling too shitty to post. Dh is away on retreat for 2 weeks, and my mum has been up helping and is FAB (great with dd and has cleaned my house and done all my washing and the cooking), but I just feel tired and so so sick. Threw up last night's dinner within half an hour of eating it which was not in the least pleasant. Then went to bed at just past 7 after dd was in bed. read for a bit, but just didn't want to have to be up and about iyswim.

COunting the days til my laughable dating scan (8 days to go). Excited but also petrified that something will have happened to baby between the 12+1 scan (the day after the big bleed) and now... I keep panicking that the bleeding was forewarning, and the bouncing baby was a cruel last sighting.

However, I do keep wondering if i am feeling flutters. But then sometimes i realise it was wind. .

Argh, am really and truly going mad. Hurry up next friday so i know. Then when dh is back, and if all is well we will tell dd.

Morning everyone! Only here to moan (sorry . My DS has got an ear infection and is waking up every 2 hours at night and screaming the place down. Poor mite is in pain but it's really taking its toll on us. It's been like this for the last 5 nights now and we're like zombies. Took him to the doc yesterday who gave me a prescription for some antibiotics and told me not to use it unless I had to. But oozy stuff started coming out of his ear last night so I'm off to the chemist at lunchtime to claim the drugs!

Just sitting at work wondering how I'm going to get through the day without slumping asleep on my desk.

I guess it's good practice for August/September

Morning all,

Haven't posted for ages because, well to be honest, absolutely nothing interesting to say! (Although have been lurking and keeping up to date with everyone's news)

Now 11+3, still sick, still tired, but otherwise nothing to report. Have plodded through the last four weeks, and just really glad have nearly made it to 12 weeks.

Anyway, reason to post today is that I had another check up yesterday, and got scanned again. Beautiful strong little heart beat, little arms and legs, and cutest of all..... hiccups! This beautiful little bundle was just lying there hiccuping! I don't think I have seen anything so lovely in my entire life!

Have also updated my details on the new and improved list!

libbysister dear god woman get the drugs and throw them in there - there is nothing quite like toothache/earache and your poor wee mite much be really suffering. If you're not against is for some reason or other calpol night or medised should knock him out for a wee while, should give him some badly needed sleep to help him heal and you some badly needed rest. wee soul - let us know how he gets on.

pennybenjamin am pathetically nearly dissolving in tears at your hiccups - I need to catch a grip but its lovely news

just to update you all on my lurgy/diseased saga, yesterday was first day felt human, god bless penicillan and managed to eat an omelette - today am showing off with fruit & greek yogurt with honey for breakfast and some toast!! lol was a bit smug too soon as dd2 decided to start throwing up at 3pm and couldn't keep water down so put her down at 7pm. didn't sleep through but has eaten this morning and was in good enough form to be papped off to the nursery lol mother of the year to me!!!

13 weeks today, yippee, am telling the world and his wife that I am pg!!! Tiredness is getting worse aarrrgghhh, how is that possible?

Finally had my bloods done today (downs and general) as it was the last day, and the screening dept. rang me to make sure I was going for it (? hope the nuchal fold test was ok, they seemed pretty adament I should get this blood test done), freaked out in the chair but the lady was lovely and it was done in no time, obviously like everything the though of having it done is far worse than having it done! Finally my sickness has eased (although I get waves, but at least I can walk into the kitchen!) so I can feel less miserable about this pregnancy (you know what I mean). When do the last people get past 12 weeks? I guess it's sort of mid. Feb when we are all passed it (too lazy to work it out). It's odd everyones getting different lengths of pregnancy but same due dates, people (MWs/GPs) must work them out differently.

BTW, for those who like beer I have sampled some alchohol free Becks and it's actually quite nice (can't tell the diff.). My sister had a dinner party where everyone was drinking and I didn't feel like sticking to orange juice! Esp. with all the summer BBQs in our last few months, I can't imagine not having a beer (I must be an addict!). I bought some alchohol free white wine aswell, but realised that's just glorified grape juice, isn't it?

Well, I called the world famous Fetal Medicine Centre in HArley Street today to see if they could do a scan since my bloods came back 1:95 risk of downs. They said same as the NHS that it is too late for nuchal and unless I want amnio or cvs (which I don't), there is nothing they can do.

I am pissed off as this has all happened as a result of hospital/GP cock up and me ending up with late scan. If I had it at 12 weeks, even with them putting the date forward a week, I would still have been able to have the nuchal.

Fabulous news about all the scans. Mine is on Monday afternoon and i can't wait!

I'm confused about dates as well now after reading thing.
I am due on 23rd August, one day before Libbyssister but i though i was 12 weeks on Saturday...hmm who knows.
I will ask on Monday!

Libbysister and Stickybean - I would go with what your sonographer tells you. My LMP (and conception date!) says I am 13w+1 but scan on Monday has put me forward a day so I'm going with 13w+2. I'm not going to say no to a day off!

Iliketosleep - they changed my due date at my scan yesterday to Aug 14th, making me 13weeks today, I just hadn't changed the list...hope this makes more sense now?

PS Had 12 wk scan & Nuchal test today - excellent results - baby was boxing and dancing to get our attention! NT results 1 in 1500.

Hope all feeling less sick and more human again - I am starting to think there is an end to the suffering!

PPS Don't forget that due dates also depend on your usual cycle length (mine is 29 days) that can affect it by a few days either way.

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't been around a lot - hectic at work. I had a really crazy nuchal+blood adjustment to my risk. My age based risk was about 1:200, with the scan and bloods, it went to 1:8000! Quite reassuring, but not what I was expecting. Very tired too - is anyone else completely poleaxed. Glad this thread is so busy - I hope all of you with scan/blood test issues get some reassurance soon. By the way did anyone see the news report on that chap who saved his nephew by throwing him from a window. Had me in tears, what a tragedy for the extended family, but what a miracle for the boy.

Hope everyone is good today. I'm celebrating 13wks today! Yay! So glad they brought my date forward and I can celebrate early!!! Congratulations to all of those who had scans yesterday or today - it's brilliant to hear all your good news.

PennyBenjamin OMG! How cute! It's amazing to think of such a young baby doing anything like that isn't it? I went all high-pitched in the scanning room when I saw my own little one kicking and moving around! Only dogs and dolphins could hear me!

Thanks TwilightSurfer. I guess it just really got me down as I've been so excited about the whole thing and have been dying to tell everyone for the last 8wks about the baby, so to be faced with that, it really hurt. Everyone else's responses have been really positive, but the bad comments seem to affect me more. I'm really grateful of the support on here and it's good to have the benefit of the experiences of others and that goes for all of you.

Better be off before I get more mushy! The scan on Monday started me off and I'm a mess now!

That makes more sense then lol i have a site that i have saved in favourites that you put your due date in and it tells you all how far gone you are in weeks and days, what trimester your in and little bits about babys development
