Will anyone be having a 4d scan ?
We have decided to have one to confirm the sex of the baby once we find out at the 20 week scan - have no idea when I should book it though, most are available between 28-32 weeks.

I'd love to have a 4D one but we can't really afford the baby let alone the scan!!

Us either Libbysister We are finding it hard atm but am hoping for a miracle or lottery win in the next 15 weeks or so

My thinking is if it's booked I'll find a way to pay for it

we've got a 4D booked at the Portland in London. seems alot of money to spend but DP (actually i guess he's technically a DF now but haven't quite got used to our new title of Fiance!) is really keen so we're stretching the budget
i wasn't keen also because i've heard stories that they're not as safe as they could be for baby. having chatted to midwife, she said as long as there's a month gap inbetween the 20week scan and the 4D it should be ok

girls you have cheered me up no end by making me realise most are into 2nd trimester.
Am still feeling rough as donkey and nice new symptom is feeling as have been punched on each jaw repeatedly throughout the night - how long till penecillan kicks in?!?!?!?

am now 15+1 so was hoping to have felt better than this but at least this seems to be more illness than pregnancy related lol

Not got much to say - just feeling sick.

first message on mumsnet - due on 21 august with 2nd baby and feeling a bit nervous as haven't had first scan yet. due for private nuchal scan next friday and will be happy to get it out of the way as i had a MMC in the first pregnancy which was picked up at a private 13 week scan. although...the second pregnancy was a breeze (despite early bleeding) and now have a lovely 2.5year old son. nice to be here!

i'm still worrying about a lack of symptoms. I've got a midwife's appt next Tuesday so I'm hoping she'll be able to find a heartbeat ok

I know because we had a heartbeat at 8week scan that things are likely to be ok but it doesn't stop the worrying. i'm 15 weeks now and still don't really feel pregnant

I wish baby could answer back to me when I ask him if he's still there and ok.... maybe he's not answering because he's a she and is fed up with me referring to her as a him!

Hi everyone.

I'm going for a 3D/4D scan. It will happen sometime between 24 and 32 weeks. Haven't decided yet. If I have it at 24 weeks then I will have officially had a scan every month I've been pregnant...so I might wait till 28 just to give the baby a bit more time to develope.

Feeling a bit stronger this morning. Don't know if has anything to do with the boy in the oven. 12+3...does that mean I'm in the second trimester?

Do you have symptoms Stillhere? I haven't had my dating scan either yet and I'm counting the days anxiously...

And I don't have many symptoms. I've felt the odd bit of nausea in the early evenings, and my chesticles are sore, and my bowels don't work but nothing too awful. S'weird, you don't actually want to feel bad, but you'd like some reassurance.

It won't be long before they're wriggling around in there and we can say hello when they kick! It really won't be long for you Miamla...

very envious of all you over 12 weeks, but congrats. I have a week tomorrow to go! My 12 week scan isn't till 15th feb. Loved looking at twilight surfers and hazieandbaby's scan photos, what a great idea to show them off on here! I managed to listen to my baby's heartbeat at work (i'm a midwife) for first time yesterday so that made me very happy.Still feeling a horrible dizzy tiredness most of the time. Praying it will go soon.

Not really... I guess I could get mum to take a few hours off work, but I want to go with DH (big wimp). In a way I am sort of hoping I can't make it because I really don't want to do it

i guess what you need to work out is if its more important you find out your iron levels are ok etc etc or if you'd rather just avoid the whole thing

i completely understand about the whole needle thing (if that's the problem). my DP absolutely hates needles but is better if i'm with him to distract him. i'll bet your mum would be pleased to be asked, i know mine would if i was in your situation

It's the down syndrome blood test, which is why I am more willing to let it slide, it doesn't really matter what the results are. I do have a normal blood test to do aswell, but I know I can't get out of that because the MW will just do it at the next appointment if I haven't done it. I am not really sure why she didn't do it at the booking in app. though, I am sure I had blood taken then last time.

I can't take my DH. Last time he fainted while the MW was doing my bloods!! And she left me sitting there with the needle in my arm while she picked him up off the floor...
