Hi all! I'm due 24 April, first baby! I have been lurking on the thread enjoying reading all the chit chat!

I am looking for comfy maternity clothes. I see Love Leggings are highly recommended on this thread, so I have orderd some fleece ones from there for the winter.

Any recommendations for where to get comfy jumpers/sweatshirts? Some of the models on the Love Leggings site are wearing some lovely tops, but they don't sell them. I've tried most of the ones I liked the look of on ASOS but some were itchy etc.
Any recommendations would be welcome :)

TIA x

Thanks @Gilm0reGirl just a sore bum! Hope your scan goes well this weekend 😊

JG24 · 03/11/2022 21:24

I've just ordered a couple of jumpers from new looks maternoty section. They haven't arrived yet but looked nice on the photos and were quite reasonablr

CariadBB · 03/11/2022 21:46

@Hannah223344 I completely understand the fear and anxiety! Two weeks ago I walked into a fucking bollard whilst looking at the map on my phone. It felt like I had been punched in the stomach. I called my fabulous midwife team and they were so reassuring (I was sobbing down the phone) and told me that the baby was protected by amniotic fluid, then the thick muscle of the uterus, and then a layer of belly fat! I know this might be obvious stuff, but it was so helpful to have it listed out to me, and I was praising my belly fat a lot that day. They checked me out the next morning to make sure, and all was fine. They also took my bloods to check my Rhesus status as it was a bang to the belly, but luckily nothing further required. Hope you are feeling better - it's such a shock to the system when you have an accident when pregnant! Ugh.

Hannah223344 · 04/11/2022 13:02

@CariadBB I felt like a right idiot, I literally walk my dog the same route everyday, never fallen over...until I'm pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️ we've heard the heartbeat this morning so he's well snug in there thankfully! Hope you are feeling ok after your bollard incident x

ancienthouse · 04/11/2022 13:20

@Hannah223344 glad he's OK!
Pregnancy makes me really clumsy. I think it's a thing. I dropped a dumbbell on my foot this morning, after being proud of myself for working out for the first time in months!

Been struggling today - terribly upset tummy with sickness when I got up and then just now. Barely eaten all day as I just feel really full and like my stomach is churning. I’m 16 weeks and haven’t had anything like this since about week 7-8, so I hope it’s not a pattern! Going to sleep so crossing fingers it’s a bit smoother in the morning 🤞

Morning all 😊this is my first post on this thread and very new mumsnetter here. First time mum, quite excited and nervous and looking for somewhere to share my woes about all the unexpected (but normal!) symptoms I'm experiencing!

My EDD is 3rd April and am currently 19 weeks with my 20 week NHS scan next week.

Longbin · 07/11/2022 09:37

@mummatam welcome! Same due date as me and my scan is next week too

I am the exact same!! From this morning I feel everything aches, the thought of food repulses me and I can’t get comfortable to sleep.

really hoping it’s just a bad day, not a sign of things to come!!

hope yours eases off soon!

@Skylark1990 My middle name is Sophia and my best friend just named her baby girl Sophia Willow. Obviously I'm a fan 😁.

DH and I are looking for a first name beginning with S - so far short list is Serafina, Sabrina and Serena. I feel like calling her Serena is just asking for trouble though...

I'm particularly into Serafina and Sabrina because we found out we were having a girl on Halloween and they're both witches in tv/literature/film so it feel appropriate.

Skylark1990 · 07/11/2022 15:40

@allfurcoatnoknickers aww snap Sophia is my middle name too!
I really like Serena and Serafina too. Love Serafina Pecala (sp?) In his dark materials trilogy! But it's quite similar to my first name so probs won't go for it. Serena is an ex of my DH's name haha although he also has a Sophia as an ex!!!

Tbh I am feeling quite despondent about girls names ATM... We have some front runners for a boy... But girls I don't love anything. Currently quite like Emelia.

P.s. we have another thread now, cuppasoupmonster linked to it above 😘

How about Savannah? It's on my list!
