@ancienthouse good luck with your scan!

alwaysseeingstars · 02/11/2022 09:49

@ancienthouse good luck today 😊

DBS94 · 02/11/2022 11:03

Has anyone had a silver cross pram before or looking to get one for this baby? I'm looking at the silver cross Coast but the options seem never ending!!

ancienthouse · 02/11/2022 11:34

Thanks everyone!! Scan went well and baby is wriggling around all happy in there! And measuring big already which isn't surprising, my last baby was huuuge.

And, it's a boy!! So I'll have 2 boys 😊
I usually say I have a DD on here just to change details for anonymity but sod it, I'm excited to have 2 boys!

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/11/2022 11:39

Brilliant news @ancienthouse congratulations on your boy 💙 how lovely for your son to have a little brother to tumble with!

I have a silver cross and really recommend it. Lovey prams, so light with great steering and of course they are beautiful 🤩 we’ll be reusing for this baby!

@DBS94 @Cuppasoupmonster Agree, I have a Silver Cross too! I love it.

It’s so easy to manoeuvre round shops and the basket underneath is a great size. Brilliant handle that does all different heights too.

PuddingBear · 02/11/2022 11:44

Congrats, @ancienthouse!

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/11/2022 12:08

@ancienthouse my baby was measuring on 35th percentile at 12 week scan and 55th at my private NIPT scan at 15w 🤔 I wonder if their scanning equipment is a bit more sensitive. DD was born on 55th so expecting something similar-ish.

@ancienthouse oh how exciting, I just think two brother is lovely 💙💙 huge huge congratulations.

GTT is all done, the drink was okay to drink but just made me feel a bit sick and now I feel exhausted! A couple of hours of work to get through and then I can finish early as I managed to get loads done in my two hour wait. Might even have to have a nap 😂

ancienthouse · 02/11/2022 12:47

@Cuppasoupmonster DS was 99th centile weight and wayyy over 99th centile height when he was born. He was the length of an average 3 month old! So I'm thinking this one will probably be the same and I'm expecting him to keep measuring bigger at each scan! Just hoping the birth doesn't go the same way as DS too.

Thanks everyone, I'm so excited, I keep imaging two brother playing together! And they'll be 4 years apart so hopefully no competitiveness or anything.

alwaysseeingstars · 02/11/2022 12:49

@ancienthouse how lovely, congrats!!

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/11/2022 13:08

@ancienthouse gosh! Are you and your DH tall?

Congrats @ancienthouse 💙💙💙

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/11/2022 13:08

@ancienthouse gosh! Are you and your DH tall?

I'm 5'7 and DH is 6'3 so reasonably tall but not massively so. I think DS is predicted to be about 6'7 based on his height at 2 years old! I'm going to be the dinky one of the family!

ancienthouse · 02/11/2022 13:26

Actually, I used to be 5'6 but I grew an inch in my last pregnancy and I've stayed that tall! I think I had to grow taller to accommodate the giant baby!

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/11/2022 13:27

Oh wow! Same sort of size as my not-so-little bro. I have no idea what centile DD is on now, she’s always fitted her age in clothing so I’m guessing average but she is quite slim with long legs as her leggings are never quite long enough!

@ancienthouse Same boat here - past few days I've suddenly thought bloody hell where have you come from 😂feel slightly better about the fact all my knickers have decided they're no longer fit for purpose

@DBS94 @Chocolat I also very nearly got the constellation!! Decided the wheels probably won't work for me though so looking at the reef as they're sturdier. Gave one a whirl round john lewis the other day and it's so easy to move even with one hand, think I've got my heart set on it to be honest but waiting for black friday and crossing my fingers for a deal.

@AliceinSlumberland I've had a right saga with the GTT - how did you get on? I had two attempts week before last that were abandoned and another booked in January but went blood test in the end for this round and it was negative, midwife is fairly certain I'm clear because I've never had glucose in my wee and I was always going to struggle with the sitting around with how much sickness I still have so she didn't think it made sense to even try at the minute. Haven't cancelled the Jan one as hoping to go for it as it's the "gold standard" but we'll see nearer the time

ancienthouse · 02/11/2022 13:38

@Cuppasoupmonster DS has always been in way bigger clothes. I gave up buying baby stuff, he was in age 2-3 by 11 months! And is now in mostly 5-6 at 3. He also has giant feet and is a size 11! It's going to cost me a fortune when he's in adult sizes a good few years early.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 02/11/2022 13:39

WELL, I got my NIPT results back, everything looks great and...IT'S A GIRL!

My mind is blown, I was 100% convinced that I was having another boy. DH's dad had 6 boys with 3 wives (he's a hot mess) and DH's brother has a boy, no one has had a girl in forever. DH is beside himself with excitement, he keeps saying how excited he is to have a daddy's girl, because DS is a committed Mummy's boy 😂.

I'm glad now that I was really anal about having mainly gender neutral clothes for DS, even though it pissed a lot of people off at the time. I feel vindicated.

ancienthouse · 02/11/2022 13:43

congratulations @allfurcoatnoknickers thats lovely!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 02/11/2022 13:47

@ancienthouse Thank you! I was happy either way, but absolutely convinced it was another boy. Mainly because I feel horrible in all the same ways in this pregnancy as I did when expecting DS.

Although, now our forever home won't be our forever home any more since it's a 2 bed loft, and we'll need a 3 bed at some point before they're teenagers. Oh well, plenty of time to get saving...

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/11/2022 14:59

Congrats furcoat! 🎀 one of each!

We’re in the same position - our house is 2.5 beds, the third bedroom really is so small you can only fit a single bed in it and nothing else but DD’s room is quite large. So the third bedroom will stay as home office and the girls will have to share the second bedroom until we can move house, but hopefully that will be in the summer because we want to move before DD starts school.
