@Cuppasoupmonster I also found the 12 tight, I think I'm going to return and get a size 14... They do seem comfy but the band at the top I especially found a bit tight!

ancienthouse · 01/11/2022 14:42

I'm having the opposite problem with leggings! I got some from Seraphine in my normal size and they're so big they keep falling down. I also have some mamalicious leggings and they are roomy in the waist and get baggy on the legs as I wear them, but they don't fall down at least.

I think I'll steer clear of love leggings as anything tight on my stomach just makes my heartburn worse. I've had to switch all my underwear over to the massive granny pants I got after my c section because everything else is too uncomfortable!

ancienthouse · 01/11/2022 14:45

@Cuppasoupmonster it's not just you, maternity jeans really don't leave much room for a bum! I struggle with normal jeans too, I'm pear shaped so my waist is one size smaller than my hips/bum. But maternity jeans are even worse because the slippery bump band slides right off!

My bum did go really flat postpartum last time and I managed to wear jeans for a bit, but I've built it back up now doing strength training and glute exercises.

I’m a 12-14 and I’ve gone for a 14 from love leggings, they’re a good fit for me, the 12 would definitely have felt tight. I got some new ones which I’ve got on today and they feel tighter than my usual ones which have had a few washes so they do loosen out but comfort is king and I’d swap for a size up if they feel tight. I’m 5ft 9 and got tall length which is spot on for me but I do have no arse 😂

lj2022 · 01/11/2022 18:03

@alwaysseeingstars yes I feel particularly from around 13/14 weeks I started to show but this week even more. I was 17 weeks yesterday and my fiancé last night looked at me and said "you look pregnant" I burst out laughing and said because I am. I knew what he meant though I now don't just look chubby I would say I'm noticeably pregnant now

SavedByGraceAlone · 01/11/2022 18:26

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm 16+1 and I find it such a strange time. Been very anxious and sad today because I can't feel the baby yet, don't have any symptoms (apart from really bad leg cramps at night) and it feels my bump isn't really growing. I know/hope it's all ridiculous worries and just how it should be at this stage, but I can't help but worry if the baby is alive. Does anyone else feel that way or have any words of reassurance on this? 😅

On a separate note, those on progesterone, are you stopping at 16 weeks? I've been told I only need it up until 16 weeks, so considering not doing it today, but also feeling bit anxious about stopping!

alwaysseeingstars · 01/11/2022 18:33

@lj2022 my dh said exactly the same! Which I naturally took to mean he was saying I look fat 😂 but no there's a definite pregnant look to it now!

Chocolat · 01/11/2022 18:34

@alwaysseeingstars yes I felt like I started looking pregnant last week when I was 17 weeks. Now I just keep growing. Was just trying to eat my dinner and felt my belly was in the way 🤣

LauraA31 · 01/11/2022 19:23

Evening ladies,
Had our scan today at EPU and everything is perfect with baby, cervix is closed and they have no idea why my bleeds have started again- the nurse told me no matter how small the bleed is to always ring them as they’d rather check and all be okay than not check and something be wrong.

I do have a great EPU- baby was a nightmare as normal and no measurements or no good photos could be taken, the nurse thought it was very funny that all my notes say the baby was uncooperative 😂 she did also say that I have an anterior placenta, not too sure what this is but she said not to panic too much if i feel movement later so im assuming that’s normal?

At least the baby is ok, bleed has now stopped (2 full days this time!) and i can relax for another 2 weeks before it starts again as that seems to be the pattern 🙄😂

ancienthouse · 01/11/2022 19:45

@LauraA31 I'm glad everything is OK! The bleeding must be so worrying though when it happens.

Anterior placenta means it's at the front so it can sometimes muffle the kicks against the front of your tummy. So you might not feel them until later on when the baby and kicks are bigger. Not always though. I've had anterior placenta both times and felt movement fairly early (18 weeks with first, 13 weeks with this one!).

ancienthouse · 01/11/2022 19:48

@alwaysseeingstars My bump suddenly bumpified last week. It feels rock hard when I'm standing up and is very round. I keep automatically cradling it with my hand now when I'm standing up and then feel very self conscious!

DBS94 · 02/11/2022 06:59

Morning ladies

When is everyone waiting to buy their pram? There's an amazing silver cross sale on atm for a full travel system bundle half price. The original one I had me eye on has now sold out so I don't want to wait if this one saves me £700! However im reluctant as my 20 week scan isn't until 20th November and that's the milestone I had in my head. Sounds silly but I feel like I'd be tempting fate

PiggyBean · 02/11/2022 07:03

@LauraA31 glad everything is ok 😊

@DBS94 I'm also feeling reluctant on such a big purchase but don't want to miss out on Black Friday deals either! However my 20 week scan won't be until beginning of December 😩

Chocolat · 02/11/2022 07:29

@DBS94 ah I’m also looking to get the silver cross bundle. I wanted the constellation bundle initially which was on for an amazing price but that’s gone 😩. Think I’m going to hold out until Black Friday as my 20 week scan is in 2 weeks. If it was later I’d probably wait for the Christmas sales.

AliceinSlumberland · 02/11/2022 07:35

@SavedByGraceAlone I feel exactly the same. I was hoping the midwife would use the Doppler at my appointment to reassure me a bit but she didn’t. It’s so hard not to worry isn’t it.

@LauraA31 so so pleased for you that everything looks fine.

Ive got my GTT this morning, already absolutely starving 😭 wish my luck guys.

ancienthouse · 02/11/2022 07:37

I have a scan this morning and we'll be finding out the sex. I'm so nervous even though I've felt the baby moving.

@AliceinSlumberland good luck for your GTT. Mine isn't until 24 weeks for some reason even though I have PCOS and some other risk factors. I'm dreading it. I'm taking myoinositol every day to try to help regulate my blood sugar because my diet isn't the best at the minute! I need to work on it really.

DBS94 · 02/11/2022 07:40

@PiggyBean @Chocolat it's so difficult to know what to do for the best, I'll kick myself if I miss out on such a good deal but you're both right - I forgot about Black Friday! I might hold out until then as I'll have had scan by then. I'll try and get into the shop before then to have a look to see how they differ x

DBS94 · 02/11/2022 07:41

@ancienthouse eeeek good luck for your scan!! Do you have a gut feeling of what you think the sex is?

ancienthouse · 02/11/2022 07:45

@DBS94 thanks! I had a feeling it was a boy but everything else since then has pointed towards girl including the nub theory. So we'll see! I'll be happy either way 😊just hoping the baby is cooperative this time and we can see.

AliceinSlumberland · 02/11/2022 07:53

@ancienthouse annoyingly I need to do one at 28 weeks too, get to do this twice 😂 I’ve convinced myself I’ve got it but we’ll see. I also have pcos and my diet isn’t the best tbh, too many carbs, but I’ve been taking to myoinositol too so fingers crossed thats helping.

How did you guys know which pram you wanted, did you go and have a look at some?

PuddingBear · 02/11/2022 07:58

@AliceinSlumberland Yeah, we went to the biggest place locally to us that had lots of prams in stock to try.

I’d looked online and had an idea of what I’d like but of course when you try them and see them it’s totally different. Some are much smoother and easier than others, some are heavier and bulkier but have bigger storage etc.

It was really important for me to try one in particular because I’m very small so needed one with a handle that went down far enough for me!

Gilm0reGirl · 02/11/2022 08:03

@AliceinSlumberland I had the GTT 3 times during my last pregnancy as a consultant got a bee in her bonnet and was convinced I had it (negative every time 🙄 she kept saying I was borderline and then another consultant looked at the results and I wasn't even remotely borderline!) I feel your pain, I hated sitting around doing it and I always felt meh afterwards, go grab some a nice brunch once it's all done it'll make you feel better.

Gilm0reGirl · 02/11/2022 08:09

We did the big baby and toddler shows when I was pregnant with DD, they were great fun, one had a pram track with lots of different terrain and ramps and curbs for you try all the different prams out on. It helped us narrow down massively. However these aren't easy for everyone to get to so I'd definitely recommend going to shop that has lots of them to try out properly, see how they fold, how light they are etc.

PiggyBean · 02/11/2022 08:23

@DBS94 hopefully there will still be good deals around after your 20 week scan! It looks like many places are starting early with Black Friday deals this year, crazy when it's not until nearly end of this month!

@AliceinSlumberland good luck, mine isn't until January when I'll be nearly 28 weeks 😖

Cuppasoupmonster · 02/11/2022 09:39

@ancienthouse good luck!! 💖 💙

@AliceinSlumberland hope it goes okay xx
