Welcome bethoo. Do tell all. I notice that your profile says that you live alone. Is that part of the story?

bethoo · 31/01/2008 22:44

cant sleep - thank you for welcoming me. did not think i would be on a thread liek this for at least another two years!! yes i live alone and had a dodgy relationship with xdp, he was a bad partner and bad with money etc and immature, not around during pregnancy etc but when i split wiht him he finally came ot his senses and while i was ready to walk away he is trying hard to make amends and when i told him about this pregnancy he was happy so good sign! i will find having a second baby hard as i live in a littel two bed house with 2 still energetic dogs and i see problems withe tiredness in late pregnancy and walking them and getting a double buggy through front door! but that is jsut part, i work part time now and i do not get housing allowance or income support so all my wages goes on bills and rent adn child care so i have no idea how i am gong to support second child. and just as i wasgetting used to having my social life back, it is back to tee total life sat at home!! do nto get me wrong i am getting used to the idea as there are also benefits. it is still early days but i am positive about it.
is anyone else getting mild AF like twinges?? i had two m/c before having Hayden so need eassuring that it is ok and normal.
like many of you i will be leaving it a few more weeks to see doctor as will be impatient waiting for scan!!
is anyone going ot wait til baby born before finding out what sex?
i ma getting excited now that there are others at the same stage as me!
bring on the piles, aneamia, sickness, constant weeing etc!!!!

sambrads · 01/02/2008 07:55

hi ya bethoo please dont wory everything will work out
there are loads of benefits out there .
my very good friend just got divorced and has 2 boys she is far better off not working as bshe gets more money from the government

i felt like i was getting af but i do remember feeling this when had ds so dont you be worrying .

Hi bethoo. Welcome. I can't imagine how you cope on your own - I find it really hard with a supportive dh! Any chance xdp will mature before babe is born?

stinkybear · 01/02/2008 08:18

Hi,

Sorry, but I'm off the thread / list as started bleeding this morning . Shit.

I know much worse happens to thousands of women everyday so am trying to be calm about it all. Typical it would be the day we are moving house, but perhaps it is good to keep busy ... though no internet connection for rest of day

Sorry to bring the thread down . Good luck to all you ladies, and hope I'm the token non-sticky of the thread!!

fairydust2 · 01/02/2008 08:40

Stinkybear - I am really sorry . I hope you manage to take it easy today. Take care xx

MrsBish · 01/02/2008 08:59

annwoo - only time will tell if xdp matures enough to assist me as at the moment i prefer ot be on my own but that will change wiht two little ones ot cope with. he will have no choice when i land on his door, plonk the babies in his arms and head off for a night out with the girls!!!!
i do not feel pregnant uyet but i think i felt that way last time then suddenly hit me and i wanted them gone!!! so i am just going ot enjoy it while i can for the next week!! though it would explain why i was knackered at the gym yesterday!!! could barely peddle!!!

loulou33 · 01/02/2008 13:02

Hi Bethoo - congratulations and i'm giving xdp a virtual kick up the arse - this might get him maturing...i've been going to kickboxing so i'm developing a mean side kick and punch combination. on that note - do people think i should still go to kickboxing, i've paid up for another 3 weeks - its fairly non-contact as we're all beginners but he' gets us to do sit-ups (are these ok??) there's no throwing each other to the floor or actual punching but still not sure if i should go???

Stinkybear - so sorry about the bleeding - have you had it checked out?? Hope the move went well - big hugs

SydneyB · 01/02/2008 13:42

Oh Stinkybear - so sorry to hear about the bleeding. Do hope you're ok. Please come back here if you want to chat about it all..

Welcome Bethoo - wow, I am full of admiration for you. Sound like you're a pretty strong lady and I'm sure you're up to No.2.

I've been to the doc this am and got my booking in appt and scan date - seems everything moves more quickly round here now as the booking in appt is at 8 weeks rather than 13 when I had DD. Seems a bit more real now!

bethoo · 01/02/2008 15:01

Hi Loulou - i did Thai Boxing, good for keeping fit. it should be ok for now though when you start to get bigger ease up on the intensity and i think you must stop sit ups when your bump shows as the muscles start to open to accommodate growth and sit ups can cause permanant damage as well as problems with pregnancy (i think!) i am going to stay training at the gym as i hear that losing baby weight for second baby is hard, the first pregnancy for me i only got a bump and pretty much was back to normal within days!
Thank you all for welcoming me!
is anyone still getting little twinges as i am getting paraniod!!

SydneyB · 01/02/2008 16:34

bethoo - yes, I'm still getting little twinges! Remember last time that they went on for weeks. This time they've started a lot earlier though.

MrsBish · 01/02/2008 17:33

Hello ladies!

Hope you're all well.

I keep getting very brief dizzy spells - just when i get up too quickly or something. Does this mean i'm deficiant in something? Should I just be drinking more?

No twinges here yet.

Also, how many people have you all told. I find it difficult to keep the news to myself!

bethoo · 01/02/2008 18:03

MrsBish - i feel light headed alot if that is similar to you? i am guilty of telling almost everyone, i ma prepared for both outcomes and know that i will be strong if the worst happens but i am being positive. it was a shock at first but i ma coming round to the idea and getting excited and have found it hard ot keep my mouth shut even though it is early and still just a cluster of cells!!

MrsBish · 01/02/2008 18:12

I'm of much the same opinion bethoo. If something does go wrong, then i wouldn't want to go through that on my own - therefore i have been happy to tell a few of my close friends.

bethoo · 01/02/2008 18:25

MrsBish - yes i think it is becasue i am still shocked!!! and last time i miscarried i was in a lot of pain so at the moment i think i am in the frame of mind that all is going well though i still do nto feel preggers though i am sure tomorrow i will feel like shit!!! then want symptoms to be gone!! i have told friends but not work as all men and it gets embarrassing if somethign does go wrong as they never know what to say unlike girlfriends. i think work will be annoyed as i just started there 5 months ago once returning from maternity leave!!!

fairydust2 · 01/02/2008 18:27

Hi everyone, I am really starting to get tired now. I am yawning constantly and finding it difficult to keep my eyes open.

I've told a few of my friends too. Mainly because they know I've been TTC so they naturally ask how I'm getting on and the big grin in response has pretty much given it away. I know they'd be the people that would support should it all go wrong. I've not told my parents because they can't keep secrets. I was so annoyed with my Dad decided to tell loads of people before I did last time!

Bethoo - wow, you've gone through a lot recently. Like Sydney said, you'll be fine with no 2.

loulou33 · 01/02/2008 18:35

Thanks for the advice Bethoo - i think i'll keep going for now as i only live across the road from the class and i'll be rubbish at lying about why i'm not going!! Have been invited to a girly dinner tomorrow night and managed to persuade the other girls that i will drive even though i live nearest to the party so i have to go out of my way to pick th others up, iyswim... i think some of them will guess but what can i do???

Told my mum last week and she phoned today to let me know she'll be on holiday for 4 weeks end sept/beg oct - great, that's one source of help truly stuffed. i don't expect her to cancel her holiday or anything but i seem to remember she was abroad when ds was born - this is what happens when you retire early and spend your kids inheritance on holidays !!!

Right time for ds bathtime.....

hedgepig · 01/02/2008 19:11

Stinkybear sorry to hear you are bleeding {{{big hug}}}.

MrsBish · 01/02/2008 19:36

I'm very much the same as you Fairydust - friends know we were trying and I can't help but grin when they ask about it!! And my FiL gets so excited about having more grand children that he can't help but tell everyone he sees. I don't mind his excitement - but it's our news and we want to tell people first!! So we're gonna try and wait to about 10 weeks before we tell him...we'll seee....

CantSleepWontSleep · 01/02/2008 21:19

Oh stinkybear, I'm so sorry . Hope the move went well and at least took your mind off it a little. Do get checked though, as it's not uncommon to have a bleed (even a big one) and still be fine.

bethoo - you make sure that you only take exdp back if he is worth having back! No putting up with crap just because you don't want to be on your own with 2 children. I know it's not quite the same, but I am on my own in the week normally, as dh works abroad, so I do/will appreciate what hard work it is!

Not sure yet whether to try and find out the sex or not. We did with dd (had 4D scan at 28 weeks, as NHS ones hadn't been able to tell), but I'm less sure about whether I want to this time. Would kind of like the surprise, as don't have the big suprise of life with a baby like last time, but name choosing for one sex is hard enough, without having to find possibilities for both!

loulou - I had a programme review at the gym today with instructor who is qualified in pre and post natal exercise, and she said to drop the abdominal crunch from my programme, and just to do very very gentle abs work sitting on a ball, so on that basis I would say that you should skip the sit ups.

MrsBish - brief dizzy spells might mean low blood pressure - not uncommon in pregnancy, but needs to be monitored if it is. Can also, iirc, be caused by being anaemic, so make sure that you are getting plenty of iron in your diet.

Sorry for mammouth post ladies - that's what happens when I don't get on all day!
