Morning ladies. So, this morning I have woken up with conjunctivitis caught from DD and I've just been to the pharmacist and he won't give me drops as I am pg!! Ow, sore red eyes. Gigantic pot belly. Horrid weather (yes, Sam I can't WAIT for light mornings!). Tired. Eating giant chocolate croissant as I think I deserve it. Last night I had a massive dinner and two huge flapjacks 30 mins later..

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/01/2008 08:43

Do you have access to any breast milk Sydney? It is great for eye infections and fine to use whilst pregnant.

fairydust2 · 31/01/2008 08:59

Hey everyone, what a lovely day it is!!

I'm really pleased to know that I'm not the only one who seems to have developed a huge belly. Well at least it's easy to hide under big jumpers and baggy tops in winter.

Sydney - sorry to hear about the conjunctivitis. Hope you get better soon.

Sambrads - were you tempted to tell you sister? I'm finding it hard not to tell anyone.

SydneyB · 31/01/2008 09:02

Can'tSleep - yes I think I do. Might purloin some of my friend tomorrow! DD has some drops so I popped one or two in my own eye this morning and now I am worrying that I shouldn't have done after what the pharmacist said. Still, it was only a couple of drops and I imagine they're quite weak as they're DD's..

sambrads · 31/01/2008 09:34

oh no sydneyb i bet you feel awful i once got that and its so annoying
{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

fairydust i was so tempted to tell but lets just say y family are not very good at keeping quiet!!!!!

Morning! Feeling a bit windswept here too!

Sambrands: we shouldn't tease you about twins as could happen to any of us! That thought did occur to me when I was listening to the wind whistling last night ...

All these big bellies already ... My belly is huge anyway as am still a right porker after Xmas. I was trying to blame not being able to do my jeans up on a super-fast appearing bump ... then remembered I couldn't do them up a month ago !

Can't believe over-the-counter eyedrops would cause any problems; hope they clear the yucky eye SydneyB! You must feel very glam!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/01/2008 10:04

My belly is always enormous, so no one would notice on that front.

I'm not great at keeping secrets either, particularly when so many people know that we were trying. I expect we'll tell my parents when we see them next week, and will no doubt gradually leak the news to my friends. We ended up telling loads of people after I m/ced the first time, which made it a bit pointless keeping it quiet in the first place!

Will prob end up having to tell the in-laws just so that they will babysit when I have hosp appointments.

Saw the GP this morning, and he has given me a due date of 7/10, but the midwife will prob change it just like last time. Don't really want it to be 7th, as that was the date I had my m/c last time.

Apparently I have to see the hosp consultant again this time, as I once had an attack of SVT. With dd I saw him once and then got signed off, but had to hang around for 3 hours for the privilege .

loulou33 · 31/01/2008 10:15

Morning all,

Permission to kill DH...he said to me this morning that i have been 'grazing' a lot recently (hence my big belly). What am I? A COW!! [ANGRY]refused to speak to him and he kept saying 'what' 'what- well you have been eating a lot' Yes because i can't eat all morning apart from boring dry crackers (only thing that stops me heaving) so i have to make up for it later in the day - or that's my excuse God there's no way he could cope with being pg...mood not helped by sleepless night, DS woke several times to tell me 'its bowing' and pointing to the window ie the winds blowing - he's soooo bright huh??!!!!

CSWS - must feel very strange having 7th as your due date but you're right the dating scan will probably change that - the gp will have gone on 28 day cycle and not many of us have perfect 28 cycles every month.

SydneyB - hope your day gets better, the croissant will help with that

Must do some work i guess....

loulou33 · 31/01/2008 10:18

Think i'll start mooing at him tonight that should freak him out heehee....right - work

MrsBish · 31/01/2008 12:43

Hello!!

Can I join too please? Found out yesterday that I'm pregnant with number 2. Really excited and want to tell everyone, but we're gonna try and wait a few weeks first!

Think baby will be due about 8th Oct - but no doubt that'll change at the dating scan.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/01/2008 12:51

Midwife will change date because they do it on actual no of days/weeks of pregnancy, whereas GP just does 9 months plus a week. He did adjust for a 31 day cycle though. Scans don't change your recorded due date unless it is out by 10 days or more iirc.

Were you early last time sambrads?
I have dh's b'day on 27th Sept and mil's on 29th, but am not overly worried about a clash as I'll prob be late again (but appreciate they are old enough to manage to share their day ).

I thought that the P&T was well regarded by those who have them.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/01/2008 12:53

Cross posted MrsBish - welcome .
Sorry pistachio (my fave ice cream flavour) - forgot to welcome you too.

SydneyB · 31/01/2008 14:14

New symptom - am very tearful. And cross.

stinkybear · 31/01/2008 14:22

Oh, great to get a list going Cantsleep!

Wow, they are stacking up already, aren't they? Has everyone already been to the doctor? I'm moving house tomorrow, so can't manage an appointment till next week. And I so don't feel pregnant that can't quite believe I have to go! Pistachio: do you think our lack of sicky-ness is the calm before the storm? I felt continually 'sea-sick' with DS2 ...

MrsBish · 31/01/2008 17:21

I'm not going to go to the doctors til i'm about 8 weeks. One of my friends went when she was about four weeks and was told to come back in a few weeks time (not good I know)!

I don't feel the slightest bit pregnant either. I'm quite enjoying it at the mo and trying to get ahead on things before the complete exhaustion sets in!!

minervaitalica · 31/01/2008 18:41

So that is just me that's missing then. DOne it now:

1st julezboo 1ds 1 baby
1st loulou33 1 ds
2nd sambrads 1 ds
3rd kookiegoddess first baby
4th minervaitalica first baby
4th SydneyB 1 dd

7th CantSleepWontSleep 1 dd
7th fairydust2 1 dd
7th pistachio 1 dc
7th ronshar 2 dds
8th MrsBish 1 dc

Not much in the way of symptoms yet I have to say. Although I think I have just caught a yawning bug: I start yawning every 5 mins from about 4pm and I do not stop until I go to bed...

loulou33 · 31/01/2008 18:42

My gp uses one of those wheel things from the drug rep that calculates dates but said its not very accurate unless you have a consistent 28 day cycle, great!! With DS the midwifes adjusted my date by 6 days and they were right cos ds was born on his due date!! They did measure him very carefully on scan with obstetrcian watching and i assumed they adjusted my dates because of the scan but who knows, it all seems a bit random. What do they say - only 1/10 babies born on their due date...not very good odds...maybe they should just give us a due week instead??

annwoo · 31/01/2008 19:15

Won't be going to GP for a few weeks. Nothing apart from the scan gets done on time around here. With my last pregnancy I had my 'booking in' appointment at 5 months.
Complete exhaustion has set in at the moment and all food tastes delicious. Hopefully running after two little ones will keep the weight off this time.

bethoo · 31/01/2008 22:19
