Morning all! I have just been totally foul to DH. I seem to be very ANGRY and tearful this am, not helped by cold, conjunctivitis and also I suspect.. HORMONES. Is very hard to admit to DH that you might be hormonal though isn't it?

We found out sex with DD at 2nd scan and am sure we will this time round. Just have no patience and I found with DD that I felt much more connected to her once I knew she was a girl. Have a feeling this one is a girl too!

MrsBish · 02/02/2008 11:04

I keep being mean to DH too. He know's it's the hormones and gives me a wide berth and a cup of tea when i'm all scratchy!!

We'll def find out the sex. I just can't resist. I found I bonded with DS once i'd found out at the 20 week scan. PiL don't agree with finding out - but we don't care what they think, and of course once we do find out then they'll want to know too!! Might tease them this time and not tell them - oohh what a meany!!

bethoo · 02/02/2008 11:22

should i be concerned about total lack of symptoms? nothing, no sore boobs, no tiredness, absolutely nothing. will be 5 weeks on monday. do you think it may be because i am still bf?

MrsBish · 02/02/2008 11:29

I don't have any symptoms either. I thought i had sore boobs yesterday - but they're fine again today. I think that most people dont have many symptoms yet.

bethoo · 02/02/2008 11:36

thanks MrsBish was getting worried. no doubt hey will appear next week!!

ronshar · 02/02/2008 12:18

Good morning. We have got a beautiful sunny day down here on the coast.

My only symptom is big boobs. I have dispatched DH to m&s for bigger bras.

Stinkybear, how are you. A bleed doesnt always mean MC. Check out the MC avengers, still eating cake, 2008 will be our year, thread. It is full of women who have MC'd and are trying hard to support each other. Also the pregnancy after MC thread is fantastic. There are women on there who bleed every day and still carry to term. It is a nightmare.

SydneyB · 02/02/2008 14:33

No symptoms at this stage is totally normal! I didn't have any really til 7 weeks last time and remember looking in every book I could find and googling 'no symptoms does that mean I am not really pregnant?' and then at 7 weeks I started throwing up and didn't stop really until DD was born..

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/02/2008 15:17

No symptoms here either (though also still bf) .

bethoo · 02/02/2008 17:29

thanks ladies, i get worried as at this moment finding it hard ot believe it is happening as do not 'feel' pregnant iykwim?
i am getting excited even though still early days and even looking at tandem pushchairs!!!
sorry TMI but as you know increase in discharge and keep panicking that i am bleeding! i worry too as my last m/c was a missed one and only found out at my 12 weeks scan. good job i hae my doppler as i will be using it religiously again!!1

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/02/2008 18:21

My m/c was also missed bethoo, and I also have a doppler!

Julezboo · 02/02/2008 18:59

Sorry ladies, Hvant got chance to read but I know i havnt updated since my scan (my ds isnt very well)

Scan thurs wasnt great news, they thought it was ectopic but not in my tubes, in my previous scar tissues (from sections) They took bloods to check my HCG levels.

Went home in a panic, didnt sleep a wink half expecting to be in hospital this weekend having surgery.
Rung them Fri morning and HCG came back at 5223 which is high for 4+4 so they said get back up asap. Consultant scanned me, Sac is in the right place thankgod but he also said, he cant be sure but it looks like twins

I go back for another scan Monday mornign and another blood draw!! I am so so shocked, Im not sure if anybody here seen my thread my I found out, this preg was a total accident and i was panicking about coping with 2 under 2, now I will possibly have 3 under 2

Mixed emotions at the moment!

Hope everyone else is well !!!

sambrads · 02/02/2008 19:56

hi ya julezboo please dont panic everything will work out ok

i have a scan to go to on thursday to check if i am having more than 1 as clomid makes your chance of twins alotmore .
i think i will start to worry when i hear them says congrats your having twins until then i will try not to think about it

its great that they are nt making you wait to long between appointments

what sort of scan did you have ??
was it a trans vag or on your belly???

bethoo what kid of twin prams are you looking at ??
i am finding it so hard to find something to suit a new born and a toddler .

bethoo · 02/02/2008 19:59

Jules - wow, i did not think they could see a sac that early in a pregnancy? i would have liked twins in my first pregnancy so i would not have to go through pregnancy again!!! hugs
Cantsleep - it is nice ot see someone who is in the same boat as me. i got addicted ot using my doppler the last time but it was very reassuring esp as only say mw several times throughout pregnancy!

fairydust2 · 02/02/2008 20:07

Julezboo, what a dramatic couple of days you've had. What a relief to hear it wasn't an ectopic pregnancy but then what a shock to hear you might be having twins. I must admit I'd love to have twins but my dd is a lot older. I do know someone with about 18 months between their older child and twins, and although it was hard at first, she absolutely loves it now.

My main symptom at the moment is extreme fatigue. I'm not sure if my dh thinks I'm trying to milk it or not but I've left him to do most of the looking after dd today. I don't think it's helped by the fact that I'm finding it hard to get through the day without caffeine.

Good luck with your scan on Thursday Sambrads!

fairydust2 · 02/02/2008 20:08

I'm thinking of getting a doppler too. I just wish you could get one that would work this early!

Julezboo · 02/02/2008 21:35

im with you on the tiredness fairydust, I slept all afternoon and pretty much everytime i sit down!

My baps hurt so much! And the sickness too, plus i have a sore throat and crappy headache

CantSleepWontSleep · 02/02/2008 22:13

Wow Julez! I'm sure it will be quite a challenge if it's twins when they are young, but will lovely to have them all so close when they are a little older.

One of my NCT friends nearly has 3 under 2 - one is 26 months, next 14 months, and third just a couple of weeks. Saw her this week and she was coping surprisingly well, so there is hope!

Hope your ds is feeling brighter soon. Which day is his birthday?

daisyj · 03/02/2008 11:45

Oops, so excited I just lost the message I'd written. Probably posted it by accident and now there'll be two! Just found out I'm PG after 10 months of trying (in a slightly haphazard way). I think I'd persuaded myself we wouldn't be able to (I'm 35, DH is 40). Did two First Response tests yesterday both BFP, and a Clear Blue digital one this morning. Only did the first one as AF a couple of days late (normal for me) but was going to a party so wanted to know if I could drink or not!

No symptoms yet apart from sore (and a bit bigger - hurrah!) boobs. But basically just feel premenstrual.

Wasn't thinking of going to the doc yet. I've heard they don't re-test you, and can't see why else to go right now. Should I, or just sit tight for a few weeks? I'm so scared it won't work out... I'm all new to this, so any advice/reassurance gratefully received

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/02/2008 12:07

Congratulations daisy .

Main reason to go to docs early is so that they can start processing your maternity exemption certificate (for free prescriptions, dentist etc), although my GP did say that the system has changed here so that I should see the midwife early, as they like everyone in the system!

Also helps in the unfortunate event of something going wrong if they have some details of you to begin with.

No reason why you wouldn't be able to conceive at 35 and 40! There are lots of older MNers having babies these days! I will turn 35 this summer, but my dh is already 42.

Do you know your due date?

annwoo · 03/02/2008 12:15

Welcome Daisy,
Here is a useful preg calculator healthlink.mcw.edu/article/923526833.html

Stinkybear -sorry to hear your news.

daisyj · 03/02/2008 14:14

Thanks, ladies. I think I was just protecting myself from disappointment in case we didn't conceive. I know lots of older mums, but after all those years of trying NOT to conceive... well...

According to the calendar (thanks annwoo), it's 6 October. I'll take your advice and go to see doc. I live in Lewisham, in SE London. Heard bad things about the local maternity facilities, but I guess I'll learn more as time goes on.

All the things they never tell you... Nice to have somewhere to ask the questions.

loulou33 · 03/02/2008 14:33

Hiya all,

I have a couple of friends with toddlers and new born twins and a friend due twins in 4 weeks with dd same age as my ds. They were all like you julezboo, ie shocked and worried how they would manage but the first two have done brilliantly - ok so things were a bit chaotic at theirs for a few months but that's not hugely different from when you have one!! (that's my excuse anyway)

Am feeling exhausted today - not helped by not sleeing at night grrrr. Dh suitably unsympathetic about me resting whilst ds has nap - just cos he's got no end of energy, i think he thinks i'm being lazy....can't be arsed to fight with him about so came on here instead - yeh!!

maybe i've had a great experience of dr and midwives or scottish system is different but i have booking in appt on monday week (my choice, they offered me tomorrow but am busy) and will see every 4 weeks til 24 weeks then very 2 until 32 then every week until birth. Gps like to see you early to get you into system etc...they were great last time so i am hoping they will be this time. i had same midwife stay with me for whole of the birth last time which was great. she only left me to get drugs and a dr!! I know this is not common in England but i think should be available to all, IMO. the only thing is you can't have epidurals here as not enough anaesthetists so only do them for c-sections. they offer you transfer to hospital that does them but i did'nt (and still don't) want one anyway

Hope you're all well....ds awake - there goes my rest...

loulou33 · 03/02/2008 14:35

I'm 34 and DH is 44 next week - eek are we too old???!!! NEVER...

bethoo · 03/02/2008 14:48

Daisy me and u have same due dates

annwoo · 03/02/2008 19:29

Hi everyone,
Loulou can't believe the difference in maternity care! Although I saw my GP at 4 weeks I was booked in at 5 months last time as I said, and was seen when midwife wasn't booked up, that could be 5-6 weeks! They are overworked down here though (London) too many people having babies.
