iuseantiageingstuff · 27/02/2008 17:45

Anyone desperate for a boy or girl

I warn you if you have two boys or girls everyone will assume you are having another one to get the boy or girl you havent got.

I found it really annoying when i was expecting my third.

PrePG · 27/02/2008 17:59

Hello sparkles welcome!

Iuse it's our first, so we're still in the 'happy with whatever we get' phase We might be a little pickier next time around!

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 27/02/2008 18:01

i have 3 boys and a girl

Our girl is second eldest and i guess i would like another girl, but i'm not 'desperate' or anything i'll be happy with what we get

is anyone going to find out what they are having?

sparklesandnowinefor9months · 27/02/2008 18:02

Hi PrePG

iuseantiageingstuff · 27/02/2008 18:08

we didnt find out the sex with our other 3 it was a while ago and they were reluctant to tell you even if you wanted to know but I am really tempted this time.

does it spoil the surprise element?

PrePG · 27/02/2008 18:14

I have a very longwinded theory about finding out the sex - DH wants to, but I don't. We've decided we would like to have two children, so we've kind of agreed to find out with one and be surprised with one. So if we do that...I think we should find out what the first is, but be surprised with the second. Reason being, whatever we have the first time around, we're very likely to want the other second time around. If we found out the sex before the birth, I'm worried that I'll feel ever so slightly disappointed if it's the same as the first. But I figure when you're handed your baby after giving birth, there's just no way you can be disappointed. Hence the wait. am I crazy? DH thinks so!

iuseantiageingstuff · 27/02/2008 18:21

It sounds well thought out to be honest.
My dh was surprised this time around when I said I might like to find out the sex.

We hadnt planned on having this one although it is definately wanted. So I dont mind doing it totally differently, like finding out the sex.

I dont seem to worry about some things like I did with our other dc's.

kookiegoddess · 27/02/2008 18:41

hey girls hope you are well. Just to update, I'm due on 8th October (my parents wedding anniversary, they are only slightly miffed at having to cancel their plans to visit Singapore...) and not the 3rd.

so I'm only in my 8th week. Anyone else totally astounded that the sickness is due to go on for ANOTHER TWO MONTHS??? Is it possible to feel like crap for so long? Thank god for acupressure bands, but the saliva taste in the mouth is grim and puts me off eating anything.

Hope you're all less tired, sick and cranky than I am....

x k

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 19:08

Evening everyone! Glad you're feeling less worried myjobismum although replaced with other annoying niggle!

Hi to all newly pg joining us today - accessorizequeen I've got a 15 month old dd and 8 year old dd. Looking at my 15month old rolling about the floor like a crazy person today has made me think that having another one is going to be great fun, although I'm under no illusion that it's going to be difficult I'm not feeling so daunted by it now.

I've been feeling really exhausted today so took the opportunity to get a nap today, I new at some point I'd get round to sleeping when baby sleeps.. better late than never!

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 19:55

Also pregp I think that's a perfectly logical way of deciding what to do! My husband does not want to find out the sex and I'm not sure, so better off not finding out at all as you cant take it back once you know!

mariekg · 27/02/2008 20:04

hi everyone congratulations to all the new ladys!, on the whole pregnancy symptons issue can anyone tell me when they usually kick in because although im only 5+2 weeks im starting to worry because i have none not even sore boobs! honestly cant remember from my last pregnancys

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 20:16

Hi mariekg if this is your first baby then i believe it's usually around 18 weeks - with my second I could feel it from 16 weeks but that only because I knew what it was likely to feel like, it's so subtle, just the tiniest nudge you barely notice.

I 6 weeks and have only had sore boobs this week and starting to feel tired, everyone is different, you may get away with not feeling very crappy at all!

accessorizequeen · 27/02/2008 20:34

Thanks for the welcome Mariekg, I was fine for a couple of weeks and then tiredness & nausea kicked in end of six weeks but everyone's different. And this is the first time I haven't had sore boobs, maybe they won't be so enormous this time (or maybe it's a girl...).

I am so not having another baby because I'm desperate for a girl (neither is dh) - v.irritating when people think that but I've already had one comment. Not that I'm sure a girl wouldn't be nice, but 3 boys has a good ring to it!

ronshar · 27/02/2008 20:40

Evening to all the new pregnant ladies. Come and join the madness.

This is my, technically, third pregnancy and so far I have had everything different. Lots of early abdo pains. Very sore boobs, I felt like death warmed up in week 7 but now in week 8 I feel almost normal again! I am not sure if it is because I feel so relieved about having a scan and it being ok!
I have a definite bump now and the breasts are spilling out all over the place DH is one happy man.

I hope we are all feeling positive at the moment. Fingers crossed we are almost to the scan milestone.

mariekg · 27/02/2008 20:41

thanks ever so much for the advice AandMsmum i think i have typed it wrong [which is not unusual for me] im not worried about the baby kicking way to early for that[this is my 4th pregnancy] but just all the symptoms as i had really bad morning sickness with all my other pregnancys and for the life of me i cant remember when it started as it wont feel like im really pregnant until im clinging to the toilet bowl for dear life! sad though it may be

SmudgeyDoodle · 27/02/2008 20:57

Evening all. My goodness this thread moves fast. I guess it's because we're all so excited and maybe not told people in RL yet so it's good to be able to chat. There seem to be lots of people with lots of children so I hope you're ready to answer millions of questions. Thanks for remembering me CSWS. Blame the hormones iuseantiagingstuff, that's what they're there for!! I'm intrigued with your spreadsheet - are you keeping tabs on us all . Actually I think it's really sensible and was thinking of writing something down as I remember from last time that I'm hopeless at remembering who is doing what and it takes soooo long to search through the thread.
I phoned the Dr today as just got a letter through to say to go for a smear. I phoned to check whether I was still meant to go and they said no. She said that I needed to make a GP appointment for after week 8. Last time, I'm sure I just saw the midwife but that was in a different area. Are you seeing midwifes or GPs?
Mariekg, I feel a little bit quesy and light headed every now and then but that's it really. Last time I remember I had reallllly sore boobs. Still early days for me though as just over 6 weeks

mariekg · 27/02/2008 20:58

hi accessorizequeen thanks for the advice i wouldnt worry about what people say about you trying just so can get a girl as long as your happy and lets face it does it really matter what sex the baby is as long its healthy i have a 14 year old daughter and 2 sons 10,2 and everyone is convinced i want another girl but to be honest id be happy with either plus with your sons you dont have to worry about them turning into you when they hit puberty my daughter is a slightly shorter version of me very scary!

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 21:00

mariekj sorry! my fault I've just read your post again and i totally read it wrong! This is my 3rd and as yet I've not had the joys of speaking to the big white telephone so can't be of any help - probably jinxed myself now and will be doing just that tomorrow!

AandMsmum · 27/02/2008 21:03

and now I've spelt your name wrong! my god i'm crap tonight

mariekg · 27/02/2008 21:09

dont worry about it [you gave me a giggle] with each child you have the more crap your brain gets im surprized i can walk and talk at the same time!

ronshar · 27/02/2008 21:19

Does anyone have trouble driving? I get really distracted. I have to concentrate doubly hard at the moment. Lucky I am not a bus driver
