Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jojay · 24/02/2008 22:09

I think we have to fcous on the long run, hopefully they'll be great mates in the future!!

AandMsmum · 24/02/2008 22:18

CantSleepWontSleep - I think EDD is 22nd so not a bad guess.

Jojay - sounds all too familiar except I'm rather jealous you get to lie in so long! DD thinks that 5.30 - 6.00am is a reasonable time to be awake.. You're right though most do plan for a two year gap I'm sure we'll be fine!

Jambers99 · 25/02/2008 07:47

Bethoo, Jojay & AandMsmum, we're all going to be in the same boat. My ds is almost 13 months now, so he'll only be 21 months when his little brother or sister arrives. Am already slightly panicking about the need for double buggies etc, but trying not to think about it. We'll just have to manage! As you say, at least they'll (hopefully) play well together as they grow up.

Second pregnancy test last night was positive, so I'll be phoning the doctors today. I haven't told work yet, and am feeling a bit guilty since they've just decided to move me to a new job. Not sure they'll be too pleased to hear that I'm about to start another load of maternity leave - I've only been back 6 months since the last lot!

Spink · 25/02/2008 09:28

jambers - yours is the only post I've had time to read this morning, but can I add myself to you four?? ds was 1 YEAR OLD last weds. Every now and again I break out in a cold sweat thinking about how we'll manage, especially on those bad days I know we'll have, when I'm on my own, and their both ill or clingly... So far, to help myself feel I'm prepared, I've put in an order for a hippyseat (or whatever the name is for those toddler carrying things you wear round your waist)...

my bro and I are 15 months apart in age, dh and his sister are 10 months apart (gulp) and everyone says tho the first year was madness, it was great after that!!

agirlandtwoboys · 25/02/2008 09:38

I have miscarried. Can someone take me off the list please.
Am gutted. have got 3 beuatiful kids already but I really wanted this one too. Was I just being greedy?

Spink · 25/02/2008 09:41

oh, agirlandtwoboys - i'm so sorry. I hope you get to look after yourself lots at the moment. Of course you're not being greedy. These crazy horrible things just happen.
sending you lots of hugs.
xx

Ekka · 25/02/2008 10:50

agirlandtwoboys - so sorry for you. course you weren't greedy, take really good care of yourself.... Big hugs

Ekka · 25/02/2008 10:52

jambers99 - I'll add myself to your group, my dd is 8.5 months at the moment so I'll have two under 18months. Not entirely sure how we'll cope but in the long run I'm sure it will be worth it. I had a nightmare last night that it was twins (they do run in my family) so I'm now really, really keen to get to my scan and hopefully have my mind put at rest, though have another 7 weeks to go

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/02/2008 10:56

agirlandtwoboys - I'm very sorry to hear your news. It's not at all greedy to want 4 children, and I hope that you do manage to have a fourth one day. Take care.

Spink - have you actually tried the Hippychick seat before? I know that lots of people like them, but mine was a complete waste of money.

What time is your scan mtw? Hope it goes/went well.

So sorry to hear your news Agirland2boys Take care of yourself

Wow, there are lots of us due on the 4th!
myjob My lmp was 22 Dec but had an early scan and they put me back a week, so I guess when it comes down to it, it doesn't even really matter! The little one will come when he/she is ready anyway!

ronshar I was 8 weeks on Saturday and we've only told my parents (at about 5 weeks - I couldn't hold it in anymore!), BIl & SIL and the waiter at the Lindsay House in London because we went for dinner on our anniversary last week. Don't go to a French restaurant when you're pregnant! It's a nightmare! Had to substitute two courses on the tasting menu! But was lovely nonetheless!

We told BIL & SIL on Friday night so that we could get some advice from them about telling the rest of the family and SIL nearly cried, I was so touched!

Actually, we also told a couple who were getting rid of lots of baby stuff, so they know too! Telling the rest of my family next weekend and the rest of DH's after scan on the 20th.

sambrads · 25/02/2008 12:33

Sorry to hear your news agirlandtwoboys Take care

I haven't been on much recently as been sick and tired. Also, I've been very busy at work.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I am really excited to hear you are almost 9 weeks Sambrads. I'm 8 weeks today, which I'm really pleased about. Couting down the days until the second trimester.

OP posts:
Spink · 25/02/2008 13:53

Cantsleepwontsleep - actually I haven't tried one , I've just heard so many good things about them... what don't you like about yours?

woohoo to everyone reaching milestones! and good luck to people having scans today and this week

GP wants to send me for a dating scan as she thinks I could be 7 or 8 weeks, because I seem to have had a bit of a strange cycle and have ovulated really early. I don't really get this as I thought they just went from LMP, it was only because we were chatting and I mentioned that it was strange to know the actual day bding was successful ( blimey the things I find myself saying in a GP surgery). She asked if I was sure because it was only 8 days after my LMP.
anyway. so. confused here. waiting for a scan date letter...
..then I can join in on the milestone excitement.

eleanorsmum · 25/02/2008 13:59

hi all, can i join please? have just found out and think i'm due oct 24th. off to docs to get checked over this week hopefully. been ttc no.2 for 2 years so am very happy!

Julezboo · 25/02/2008 14:53

congrat Eleanorsmum

I cannot keep my eyes open today, ds wont nap I just put his big quilt on the floor in the hope he curls up and falls asleep, he keeps going over to it so fingers crossed

bethoo · 25/02/2008 16:11

a;ot of us have babies who have or are turnign one this week! my ds turns one tomorrow!
i am also 8 weeks today and this week is the crucial week as highest risk of m/c

agirlandtowboys - sorry to hear about your m/c, all the best and it will happen again soon. the conceiving i mean.

tedmundo · 25/02/2008 16:12

Spink, Bethoo, Jambers, Jules etc - DS will also be 20 months when this bean is born! That is now about 6 or 7 of us with this age gap!

If I get pre eclampsia again it could be anything from 18 months though but I really and truly do not want to even entertain that as a thought. I spent so much time in hospital last time and to do that again with a toddler is making me go into a panic...

Agirland2boys - desperately sorry to hear you have miscarried. May I wish you all the luck in the world if you try for no. 4 again.

sambrads · 25/02/2008 16:43

my ds will just turn 2 a week before my baby is due which scares me a bit so i am so proud of you other ladies it will be tough but definately worth it

feeling so tired today and a bit of a headache coming

bethoo is 8 weeks the highest risk for mc????

OP posts:
PrePG · 25/02/2008 17:20

congrats, Eleanorsmum!

And Sambrads - when I said scan on the 20th I meant March! Not sure when yours is, but mine is sadly far from 2 days away!

And, yes, bethoo I didn't know the 8th week is highest risk for mc???? Do you mean because you're most likely to miscarry around the same time you would normally expect your period? I've come across that, but I haven't read anything statistical or scientific to back it up. If anything, your risk goes down around week 8.
