Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ayrshirelolo · 26/11/2007 22:37

Evening pals!
Just a wee hello before i go to my bed, i was just tidying up our bedroom as i got home from work at about half 6 to find dh had cooked a gorgeous chicken dinner and totally gutted and reorganised our bedroom in preparation for moving the crib in to it.... Yikes!! He'd chucked all my clean washing onto the bed as the tower was almost taller than me (i'm a truly dreadful woman, have been living and dressing out of the pile for weeks, clean stuff gets chucked on the top again..... don't tell my mother!!)so have had to put it all away before i can go to bed. He knows me so well!
I'm feeling really HUGE today all of a sudden, had to run back to the car from a meeting which over ran so as not to get a ticket and felt bloody awful for the next hour or so, heart palipitations, cold sweats, horrid! Anyone else had this? Don't remember it from last time..
Hope you are all ok tonight > too late to catch up properly i'm afraid, but of everyone not working, promise to try to say hi to all tomorrow or wednesday. Meantime looking forward to tomorrow afternoon at 4pm, MrsMCj, Fluffy and hopefully AngelKG77...
sleep well all! (that means you too beanies, give us mum's some peace!!!!please??)
lolo xx

susiemj · 26/11/2007 23:44

Just a quick one for MrsMc. I didn't think you were patronizing! Not to worry. Baby is definitely feeling HEAVY today. I decided to follow your lead and have got some of those nighties. I suddenly realised that once I've had the baby I can wear the pyjamas I wore earlier in pregnancy and I just needed nighties for giving birth and hospital. Bit slow, me

Hope you're feeling better Syreshire. I did have a bit of a 'funny turn' the other day and babe is definitely getting heavy to carry.

Catch up tomorrow!

beller · 27/11/2007 08:09

Morning all!

Mrsmcjnr - nursery is sounding great! There will definately be no filming of the birth!! Have told them that (3 times now!!) The Elle Tens is the one im looking at now too..great minds think alike!

Ayreshirelolo - if i have to run unexpectedly I get very out of breath! Can feel the baby in the pubic area really heavy too...s try to keep those moments to a minimun!

Hi everyone, hope all is well today, One of my friends that is only 29 weeks has been rushed into hospital with pre-eclampsia they have managed to stabalise her, and are giving her steroids, but have said they will have to deliver within 2 weeks..the babyb is 2.5 lbs at mom...Really hope she and babyb will be ok !xxx

ninedragons · 27/11/2007 08:40

Could somebody please just put my mind at rest?

I am nearly 31 weeks. About an hour ago, the taxi I was in braked suddenly to avoid hitting another car. The motion made the top half of my body fold over onto the bottom half. I am in China and there are no seat belts in taxis, so please don't give me grief for not wearing one - my only alternative would be taking the metro with 20 million other people.

Anyway, I feel vaguely sore along the top of my bump (about halfway between my navel and my boobs), and I haven't felt any movement since (only been an hour and this is not a time of day she's generally very active). How well padded are babies in there? Could the baby have broken a leg or something?

beller · 27/11/2007 08:48

Hi ninedragons - they are well insulated by the fluid, but would be best to get it checked out if at all possible? Do you have a midwife you can call, or a hospital to drop into?

MrsBiscuit · 27/11/2007 08:59

Ninedragons - I've been told that the wall of the uterus is thick, and the amniotic fluid acts as a good shock absorber but like everything that's slightly worrying, it's worth getting it checked out. If you're staying in a hotel, get the reception to sort out a doctor for you. Hope everything's okay.

We had a bit of a wake up call last night in our AN class - one of the couples wasn't there as she was in hospital giving birth . 36 weeks so should be okay but it's still a bit of a shock!

Ayrshirelolo - I almost fainted walking up a hill on Sunday - it was with my 65-year old FIL so we weren't exactly going quickly either .

Anyone else getting stroppy? I ended up having a go at a couple of women in a crowded Starbucks on Saturday as having queued up ages for my coffee there was nowhere to sit when I finally picked up, and these women were taking up tables just waiting for their other halves in the queue. I felt a bit bad afterwards , but justified it by thinking that if I'd seen a worn out pregnant woman, I would have let her sit down without her having to ask.

ninedragons · 27/11/2007 09:16

Hi beller,

thanks for the reply - I realise now I sounded really grumpy in my first post. I'm just anxious, but I should have chosen a better tone to introduce myself.

It sounds ridiculous but it's 5pm and it's about to rain, which means that the whole city spasms and shudders to a halt, which in turn means I won't be able to get anywhere until at least 8pm. If I haven't felt anything by then I'll try the hospital.

Thanks for the soothing words, though - very much appreciated.

ninedragons · 27/11/2007 09:19

sorry, Mrs B, I cross-posted with you.

I've been fuming - if there's anything wrong I'm going to sue Dazhong Taxi until they're back to using bloody rickshaws again. F**king idiot driver....

beller · 27/11/2007 09:45

Mrsbiscuit - i dont have the longest fuse at the moment either!!

ninedragons - cant even imagine what it must be like...can you try drinking a cold fizzy drink to try to get baby moving? xx

Amani · 27/11/2007 10:36

Morning all,

Still got this horrible lugry. and another rubbish night sleep...story of my life at the moment. Due to leave work tomrrow so have decided regardless of how I feel am going to have to drag myself to finalise and handover everything.

Ninedragons - hope you are ok. Drink lots of cold water and see your m/w is what I would suggest.

Hope everyone else is well. off to see m/w for 35 week appointment.

katyt1 · 27/11/2007 10:53

amani - sympathies.

i actually had a fab night last night, 8 hrs, one wee

but i think that was to make up for the night before, couldn't sleep, had about 5 hrs max and they were pretty restless and broken.
the q is: is it worth the crap night to have the fab one???

got physio later to see about my pelvis, hasn't got any worse so i'm hoping it's not spd and is just noraml aches and pains of pg.

friend having breech c-s today, fingers crossed all goes smoothly, going to see her and baby tomorrow, ahh a newborn

any tips on what would be a good pressie for mum, day after c-s?? she's got loads of baby stuff so not sure but think dh and i will her a cheque for baby's account but need to take something 'useful'/nice in... answers on a postcard!

hello all

madmouse · 27/11/2007 12:09

Morning all

Ninedragons I hope you can let us know if everything is ok.

I am happy, just back from ante natal with GP, everything is great, blood pressure down from last time, no proteine again so we can deffo put the pre-eclampsia worry to bed now .Babbit did behave himself with sonic aid this time, so either he likes this doctor or he is too big to run away now.

Hard to believe that I will be 34 weeks at the next mw appointment. And that is before Christmas

For all of you who are feeling the weight of the baby, you are further along than me and the end is in sight!!

Beller for your friend I hope she will be ok. Maybe she has had it for a while? Baby seems quite small. Keep us posted.

LilyLoo · 27/11/2007 12:14

gingeme · 27/11/2007 13:50

Afternoon ladies. I had a terrible night sleep. Took lo to a new playgroup this morning and just yawned for the full 2 hours I was there. Baby was doing a marathon last night. He seemed to be on the move from 8pm till I went to bed about10.30. Real big movements too. Dont know what that was all about.
Popped into my hair dresser this morning to make an appt and got chatting to a woman having her hair cut. She said she had her first baby at 34 weeks and he was fine. In fact he was 6lb. Hate to think how big he would have been full term then
Getting fed up with wearing the same clothes all the time now too. Be glad when baby is here and I can start wearing a bit more variety.
Dont think I need anything else for baby now. My new nappy bag came Saturday. Trouble is it got an elephant on it and Eliot underneath. Wonder how many people will ask 'oh is that his name?'.
Well have a good afternoon all. xxx

gingeme · 27/11/2007 13:50

madmouse you ok love?

madmouse · 27/11/2007 13:56

Sorry gingeme, feeling a bit odd. Just been for a goodbye lunch with the team I have managed for the last two years. I am looking forward to mat leave but I will miss them . Then I came 'home' to an empty mumsnet. Never mind me

susiemj · 27/11/2007 14:01

Good news about your MW visit madmouse. It's getting wuiet on here recently, isn't it?

Gingeme - I hear you on the clothes front. I haven't really bothered as I'vebeen house bound most of the time and am truly fed up now. Am wondering how long it will take me to give up my comfy jersey trousers though! I don't think I'll ever tolerate a waistband again!

Hello everyone else

Am gettting grrr impatient for our pram to arrive. There's a delay over the carrycot. Am enjoying beanie's somersaults though. I keep getting fleeting glimpses of the skin on my tummy moving. Anyone had major action on the surface that they can see?

MrsMc - did you go for Mothercare/zoo print? It's my favourite still.

Ninedragons - all ok?

madmouse · 27/11/2007 14:09

Susiemj, I have one pair of black trousers that are on, int eh washing machine and back on again. And I even wear maternity jeans to the office. Getting away with it though.

Babbit can make my whole tummy move, in fact he is doing it right now. I love it. I love it less when he pokes his bum out of my sides, it looks cute but it hurts. So reassuring though is it.

Susie hope the pram gets sorted soon. Companies that supply prams shoud not hassle pregnant women, by law

Gingeme, any chance of you getting a nap?

gingeme · 27/11/2007 14:09

Oh madmouse so long as your ok.
susiemj Im living in two pairs of maternity jeans at the moment and a pair of dungarees which are starting to get a bit tight and giving me a wedgy.
Mind you I live in jeans most of the time anyway but they just seem to be nicer. Lol at a waist band though. It does feel like that for a while after birth but when you get to that wonderful day when you can fit back into 'normal' clothes again its such a good feeling. Im planning to sell my maternity wear on Ebay as soon as. Definately wont be needing any of it again thats for sure

gingeme · 27/11/2007 14:11

Get used to seeing the bum madmouse youll be seeing lots of it after January . No chance of a nap as dh went back to work today and started on earlies which meant he started at 4.30 am so hes in bed now.

madmouse · 27/11/2007 14:14

Lol Gingeme, at least now it does not have poo on

gingeme · 27/11/2007 14:25

Make the most of that while you can

sabinar · 27/11/2007 15:38

good afternoon gals.

well, I had a very slow start to the day today, but seem to be hitting my straps now. Not sure if it's thanks to the special aromatherapy brew that I just put on the oil burner... feels like it might be

DH and I bought a little starter kit last week and have been playing around with massage oils and the oil burner since then (using the instructions we got from our Pregnancy and Labour Massage Course to make sure we're only using the correct oils of course) - it's been quite fun. We're hoping to find a few magic potions that we'll enjoy using through labour. If nothing else, it will give us something else to think about and help pass the time.

I think I finally made a decision re: AmbyNest v Moffi. I was just about to get an AmbyNest (mostly because it was less expensive) but emailed the Moffi people last night with a few questions and got the nices possible email back from them this morning so I think that may have tipped the balance. We're not going to get the big fancy stand though - rather DH is going to put a big hook in the ceiling so we can hang the cradle next to the bed. I think it's going to be quite cool...

I'm also finally getting organised to sort out my Maternity Allowance (self employed, so it's a little more fiddly) - still need to get a MatB form from midwife and then get that in the post... will have to pick a date to be officially on maternity leave. Days like today kind of feel like I am already but there are some more busy days ahead yet.

Have lots of things still on the list to do... but think I am finally in the mindset to start ticking them off now.

Hope you're all well!

Amani · 27/11/2007 15:40

Back again folks

Oh Gingeme - glad you mentioned that about clothes. At the moment I have 2 trousers that fit me and a pair of jeans which I end up washing quite regularly to wear over and over again. Some of my other maternity trousers have become to tight for me to wear now..

Went to see m/w this morning who confirmed baby is still 3/5 engaged. BP and wee fine. Won't be seeing her again until 37 weeks now. Hoping to have a baby ASAP after that.

Very quiet on Mn today - where is everyone??
