Sounds as though everybody has had a busy weekend, I managed to get out for the day on Saturday and it was lovely and yesterday did a hypnobirthing taster session with Mindful Birth, it was great and Might sign up.

We’ve got an appointment at a big store next Monday so starting to get a list of prams / car seats etc, I’m very indecisive so want to go with 10 and whittle it down. Does anybody know if there’s a time limit a baby can sleep for in a carrycot if it’s not suitable for over night sleeping?

Whatshouldbemyusername · 26/04/2021 09:51

Good morning all!

@LyraShaeLilly congratulations darling x

@alittlexmasmagic lol! Trust me with my trust not wanting to see me till end May (28 week), it's the movements that's keeping me sane!

@Millymay13 am sorry you're feeling stressed about this. I would do. But it's great you're being positive. Am sure it's possibly coz you're short. Babies are very resilient and your bubba is doing fine. As you said on the plus you get to see bubba more x

@lucyrp busy weekend for you! Take it easy. I have my yoga every Monday now on zoom between 7:30-9 and I'm really looking forward to knocking out after that tonight x

@Fran919 maybe @BertieBotts might be able to know an answer to this x

Have a good day ladies. X

Kiki275 · 26/04/2021 09:58

@Whatshouldbemyusername mine aren't seeing me until 28 weeks either. Seems like an eternity away.x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 26/04/2021 09:59

@Kiki275 it’s so bloody unfair isn’t it! When’s your appointment?x

Kiki275 · 26/04/2021 10:11

GTT on 28th May then MW on 2nd June x

Daffodil21 · 26/04/2021 10:11

@LyraShaeLilly lovely news!

Wow it does sound like everyone had a productive weekend! Hope you're not too knackered today!

I've just braved the scales and it looks like I managed to lose the steroid/progesterone weight/water retention which I'm so pleased about. Obviously it wasn't a priority but it is so nice to just feel pregnant and not like a bloated whale all the time! 7lbs down, so it was even more water retention than I was expecting! Definitely eating enough so not a concern there

Whatshouldbemyusername · 26/04/2021 10:26

@Kiki275 nice. My GTT 7th May and MW 28th May. Keep us updated x

@Daffodil21 that’s good news. I’ve put on a total of 5 kg since start of my pregnancy x

BertieBotts · 26/04/2021 10:30

Never heard of any time limit for carrycots as long as it's totally flat. I think the overnight sleeping certification might be to do with breathability? Not sure TBH. Or it might be that the company just doesn't want the liability so they want you to keep half an eye on the baby and not actually be asleep yourself.

We did two walks yesterday so that was exciting :o

WolfMother326 · 26/04/2021 11:04

Good morning all, hope Monday is treating everyone gently!

We went to an in person all day hypnobirthing class yesterday and it was so wonderful. Felt amazing to be in a room with another couple and a teacher, even if in masks and quite spread apart, and we learned a lot. Best part was sharing it with DH as it felt like the first time we started making a plan for the birth together.

Curious whether anyone is considering 4d scans? Is it just gimmicky, is it worth it, etc. Maybe waiting to see the baby is just better...

MM1993 · 26/04/2021 11:33

@WolfMother326 - I went for an early gender scan at 17 weeks and the package included a 4D sneak peek. Was very cute and now also considering going for a proper 4D scan!

Daffodil21 · 26/04/2021 11:34

@Whatshouldbemyusername I've put on about that, maybe a little more since the start, but at least it's not the 2-3 stone like I was expecting this morning!

BertieBotts · 26/04/2021 11:58

@Whatshouldbemyusername we will be using Ikea Sniglar, although the cot size rather than cotbed size. I'm all for converting it to bedside although DH is now having doubts about this! I think what we will probably do is buy it and put it in our room and do the work to convert it but in such a way that we can put the fourth side back on and use it as a normal cot as well. We won't be able to change it in the middle of the night, but we can swap back and forth depending on how the baby and/or DS2 is doing.

Because we have big babies (somehow?? Neither of us is big!) the bedside ones and moses baskets etc are a bit of a waste for us as they will be outgrown really early.

BertieBotts · 26/04/2021 12:01

And I'm 24 weeks today 🥳

Smallbean27 · 26/04/2021 12:19

Anyone else had light-headedness/fainting episodes when standing or shortness of breath on exertion?
Rang the midwife today and they are seeing me tomorrow, read possible anaemia. Does anyone have any experience of this?
Its so frustrating as I love being active but physically just can't do it.

BertieBotts · 26/04/2021 12:49

I always get light headed in pregnancy. It's really annoying. Masks make it much worse as well.

lucyrp · 26/04/2021 12:56

@Smallbean27 I had it a lot early on and it was a vitamin D deficiency, still get light headed now but not on vitamin D

biscuitcat · 26/04/2021 13:12

@Smallbean27 I've not had it for a few weeks but have had some light headed/dizzy spells which feel really unpleasant and disconcerting. Definitely shortness of breath too - I've found even when I'm doing nothing I sometimes need to take big deep breaths to feel like I'm getting enough air, and finding I'm getting puffed more easily when out walking etc. I googled and apparently progesterone can cause that, plus I imagine our lungs are all starting to get a bit squashed now the babies are getting bigger?

Smallbean27 · 26/04/2021 13:23

Thanks for your responses. @biscuitcatbit is really not enjoyable, my main worry is I work with older people and don't want to faint whilst I am with them and put them at risk. Thats the main reason I contacted the midwife.
@lucyrp glad it has got a bit better for you.
@BertieBotts agree, masks definitely don't help! X

lucyrp · 26/04/2021 13:27

@biscuitcat the shortness of breath is also surely caused by our raised rhr as I found mine has rocketed since being pregnant. It's the main factor in why I did a pregnancy test at 13dpo as my rhr was rising. My chart is crazy atm 🤣

Aug 2021 - half way there!
LaceyMermaid · 26/04/2021 15:08

@Smallbean27 I have had this for a while now, got really bad to the point where I was wheezing but after the doctor gave me antibiotics for a perforated eardrum the wheezing has eased. Still get very breathless though and wearing a mask at work doesn’t help!
@WolfMother326 I am going to I think just because this is my last baby so think I may as well and it will break up the gap between my 20 weeks and 32 week scan! They didn’t do them when I had my last babies (13-18 years ago 🤣). I also got a sneak peak like @MM1993 at gender scan and it looked good!

Ava50x · 26/04/2021 16:25

@Millymay13 just wanted to share that my sister had this too. She and her husband are both quite short so she wasn't too worried. Then the consultant said its either Down's Syndrome or Dwarfism and of course she panicked... Had a horrible pregnancy, was induced at 37 weeks, ended up with Csection- but in the end, thankfully, the baby was just fine- just very short! Today he's a healthy petite 4 year old...
Try not to worry too much. I know how anxiety inducing these things can be, but hopefully will all turn out to be fine!

MM1993 · 26/04/2021 17:32

Quick question - do any of you have/have had belly button piercings ? So far it's caused me no issues however this afternoon I've noticed it's red around the area of the top ball/hole - no pain or anything so I've taken it out. Any idea why? Is it now time for me to get a pregnancy bar or do you think it'll be fine to just put back in?

HopefulB · 26/04/2021 17:45

@lucyrp, where’s your HR data from? (I love
some data!!!)
My RHR is about 68bpm (at lowest when I’m
Sleeping), that’s a good 15% increase on normal for me. I don’t check day to day, but walking on the flat is about 100.

@MM1993 not sure if I’m much or a comparator, but all my belly button scaring (1 piercing& 2x laparoscopic surgeries) seems fine at the mo. If you’re worried I’d change for a flexible plastic bar and rinse the area with saline until healed, like you do whe. You first get piercing.

Inmypjsagain · 26/04/2021 17:49

Thank you @HopefulB @Daffodil21 and @Whatshouldbemyusername I tried upping my water but that upped my sickness! (Honestly, how can water make me vomit??) Husband is making those tonight so I’ll report back!

@Millymay13 a friend had this too and got really stressed out, all fine and I think the baby is quite a tall 3 year old!

@MM1993 I do but took mine out early cos it made my belly button hurt. I have a pregnancy bar but I don’t always wear it- without it I can see how stretched my belly button is becoming...
So I wonder if it’s red because it’s stretching and the bar may irritate it? If it’s that’s a pregnancy bar
Won’t help imo, so I’d put your usual in and see if it’s comfy!

lucyrp · 26/04/2021 17:51

@MM1993 I have a belly bar in, only had it done 2 years ago. I am trying my hardest jot to use a pregnancy bar for as long as possible because I think they look weird 🙈 mine has caused me some discomfort like a tight stretching reeling but not all the tjme x
