Thanks both. I was expecting a transvaginal scan, which I don't really mind except it reminds me of the scans I've had to confirm my losses.

Smurf123 · 11/03/2021 09:09

Good luck for all the scans today!
@imisscoffee congratulations on the good scan.. It's so difficult after loss but you are doing great! Take care!

Smurf123 · 11/03/2021 09:15

@PumpkinEverything its funny how things are so different between trusts. Im in the Belfast trust this time (as I was with ds also), previously though i was at the ulster and they also did the scan and bloods together.. The letter said "may be offered a scan" but in my case I always was. In saying that this time around they didn't offer my booking appointment until I was 13 weeks so that could be why. I ended up going private as I couldn't wait that long.

Firevie · 11/03/2021 09:19

Good morning ladies! Happy to report good news! My baby has grown in size (it is 19mm now) and caught up so I’m actually 8+4 today. We saw the arms, legs and the heartbeat. Absolutely amazing! I am so so so grateful for this beautiful miracle! My doctor suggested to do the harmony test to check Down syndrome etc. We’ll get the gender tested at the same time, too as I’m too impatient to wait. Apparently that’s a private one and is more accurate than the NHS one. I’m booked in for that on 30th March which will also be my next scan. Good luck to all the other ladies with scans today! Keeping my fingers crossed for more positive news XX

@Firevie Great news! And lovely scan photo too ❤️

My consultant has been called away, so I have potentially a long wait. Not great for my nerves. I wish I'd bought a book to read.

Smurf123 · 11/03/2021 09:43

Congratulations @Firevie Smile

vitaminb33 · 11/03/2021 09:52

Congratulations @Firevie! 🎊 🎉

Good luck to everyone else having scans today ❤️

PumpkinEverything · 11/03/2021 09:55

Good luck all those with scans today!

So so pleased it all went @Firevie and even better that you’ve caught up too! Glad you’re feeling so happy😊

@imisscoffee I think that’s to be expected and definitely okay to feel all those feelings! Think it may just take a bit of time 😊

@marplemead my scan on Sunday was in EPU at 8+6 and was transvaginal. I didn’t mind though as I got such a clear photo!

@Smurf123 I’m going to Antrim as it’s closest and I had no idea what I was doing 😂 but I think you can change if needs be!? I still haven’t got my 12 week scan letter (I’m 9+3) and impatiently waiting on the post to arrive everyday. They said there’s a bit of a backlog so I’m really really hoping I’m not waiting too long 🤞🏻

MrsF111 · 11/03/2021 10:08

Had my scan and there was nothing there. I’m waiting for more tests later from the gyn unit. My notes say pregnancy of unknown location. I just don’t understand how it has happened, I spotted a bit at 4.5 weeks but only on wiping, no bleeding since and I had two pregnancy tests positive a week apart. Feel totally numb right now

MrsTD88 · 11/03/2021 10:09

Congratulations @Firevie love seeing good news on here 😁

MrsTD88 · 11/03/2021 10:12

@MrsF111 oh I'm so, so sorry you are going through this. I went through the same last year. Are they going to check your HCG levels? If you want to ask any questions about my experience you are more than welcome to send me a private message. Do you have someone with you?

MrsF111 · 11/03/2021 10:16

@MrsTD88 thank you. I am waiting for a call from the midwife to go in for bloods, thankfully my partner could come in the scan with me and is driving us home now. I just feel like I’ve imagined the whole thing, it was totally empty and I can’t understand it.

MrsTD88 · 11/03/2021 10:23

@MrsF111 I'm so glad you have someone with you. You did not imagine it, you had positive tests. Sometimes the location of the pregnancy just cannot be found for reasons beyond our control. If you still have HCG in your system then they have to do further investigations and talk about a plan for treatment. I hope you get some more answers today lovely and take care of yourself as best you can X

marplemead · 11/03/2021 10:27

I'm so sorry @MrsF111 Flowers You did not imagine it. I hope you get some answers soon. Take care of yourself x

marplemead · 11/03/2021 10:28

My scan went well. Baby measuring 8+5 rather than 8+3. I'm so relieved.

Smurf123 · 11/03/2021 10:29

@PumpkinEverything yes I think you can change at a later date if you want. I'm going to the Royal. I couldn't go back to ulster after our mmc being discovered there. In saying that we are about right in the middle between the two so it's not much difference for us. The Royal also has the regional neonatal unit which is a factor for us following ds birth and needing it.

@MrsF111 I am so sorry.. I hope the midwife calls soon and you can get some answers Thanks

SY16 · 11/03/2021 10:33

Hi Ladies,

I hope you don't mind if I cautiously join you all.

I have been TTC baby 1 since 2019 (i had a long break after my first miscarriage which i now regret) but have had 2 recurrent missed miscarriages, the last one being 26th January 2021 (baby stopped growing at 8 weeks 2 days but found out at 10 week scan). I haven't even had a period yet and I am now pregnant again which is slightly terrifying.

I am being very closely followed up by the EPU and my HCG levels have been doubling (last level on Saturday was 244) and I have my 1st scan tomorrow. I don't even think I'll be 5 weeks but they said they just want to check it is in the uterus as they only expect to see a very small gestational sac.

I can't really be excited right now (as you all understand) but I am trying to remain hopeful.

Congratulations to all the great scan outcomes, it is so encouraging to see.

I am so sorry @MrsF111 that you are going through this. I hope they contact you asap for the blood tests so you can get some answers as to what is happening.

Good luck to all of us who have scans tomorrow.

Also I have pretty much have no symptoms (which is worrying me), not even sore boobs. Does anyone not have much symptoms?

Pancakes7 · 11/03/2021 10:37

@MrsF111 I'm so sorry to hear this. Big hugs. I hope you get some answers soon. Xx

Oh I'm so sorry @MrsF111. You absolutely didn't imagine it, my friend experienced this a few months ago and it was devastating. Wrap yourself in bubble wrap Thanks

Pancakes7 · 11/03/2021 10:43

Welcome @SY16 I'm sorry for your losses. Congratulations on your BFP. I hope your scan goes well tomorrow. I've got my first scan tomorrow too. I should be 7 weeks +4. I've had 2 mmc's, 1 before I had my son and 1 last year. Fingers crossed for us both 🤞🏻🌈
