I didn’t realise you were from NI too @Smurf123 😊 sounds it’s completely different between trusts as I had my booking appointment over the phone at 7 weeks with some basic history, and I’ll get bloods and urine done at my 12 week scan and they’ll call me after that appointment to go through more questions.

Pancakes7 · 09/03/2021 21:24

@Bellabubble Yeah bloods and urine sample mostly. Possibly weight & height too as @imisscoffee said.

Bellabubble · 09/03/2021 21:38

Thank you ladies! You actually just reminded me that they want me to being along a urine sample - I need to take my own pot lol!

Pancakes7 · 10/03/2021 06:35

@Bellabubble I nearly said that actually. Mine have asked me to take my own too lol.

I'm feeling really sick this morning and I think this time it's anxiety. I can feel myself getting panicked and I've still got a couple of days to go. Trying to take deep breath's and calm down.

OP posts:
NorthernGirl1991 · 10/03/2021 10:32

@Pancakes7 I’m feeling sick too. Really hard to tell if it’s anxiety or pregnancy nausea.
Hope the deep breaths are helping you - sending lots of strength your way! Star

MrsF111 · 10/03/2021 11:06

Thanks for the new thread! Those with scans tomorrow how are you feeling? I feel sick with nerves. I'm so tired of forcing myself to stay positive, it feels like its taking up my entire mental capacity, i cant do anything else, but when i let that positivity slip i feel like I'm going to throw up with nerves, I just don't know how I will get through the same thing happening again Sad. Today is going to be a long day.

Pancakes7 · 10/03/2021 11:12

@NorthernGirl1991 Thank you. Yeah it's hard to know what's nerves and what's hormones atm. Perhaps a combination. I've managed to calm down a bit. I've got my Mum here now, so that helps. But I can still feel my anxiety bubbling away. Friday can't come soon enough.

@MrsF111 My scan isn't till Friday, but I'm honestly feeling very sick and panicked about it already. The same as you've said, I can't imagine going through it all again. I can't bear the thought of it. Then having to pick myself up and try all over again. It's a horrible thought. Hopefully we'll be ok 🤞🏻🌈

@Pancakes7 im so grateful for this thread and being able to talk to people who get how awful it is. Fingers crossed for us and our rainbow babies

marplemead · 10/03/2021 11:24

@Pancakes7 I know the feeling. It's completely normal for you to feel anxious. Do you have anyone IRL that you can talk to about it? Sometimes just saying it out loud can help. I had a chat with DH about how anxious I was feeling, and he said he was feeling really anxious too. I found that quite reassuring, because sometimes I forget that we both desperately want this pregnancy to stick.

@MrsF111 I think the more you try to ignore/ cover up the anxiety, the bigger it gets. Accept what you are feeling is completely normal given your history. And remember, the chance of something being wrong tomorrow is very small. I was annoyed when the doctor, midwife told me that the last time, because the worst did happen, but they were right and I was just very unlucky. We can't be so unlucky again.

I hope today goes quickly for those waiting for their scan over the next few days. I watched a few episodes of Superstore on Netflix yesterday, and can recommend as a funny, light-hearted distraction. A bag of Tangfastics as you watch are optional.

Firevie · 10/03/2021 11:31

Hi ladies! I’m okay-ish. I’ve been listening to positive pregnancy affirmations which really help. And I’m currently waiting for some work news which keeps me distracted as I keep checking my emails incessantly haha. I’m looking forward to all the lovely baby scan pics tmr♥️♥️♥️

MrsF111 · 10/03/2021 11:49

@marplemead thank you, you are right. I was thinking about starting Superstore, im watching Schitts Creek at the moment (well in the evenings not right now!) which i am a bit obsessed with, think i will watch Superstore next

JRH4622 · 10/03/2021 12:15

I'm excited to hear all your great news today and scan pictures please!!! Keep smiling everyone! xxx

PumpkinEverything · 10/03/2021 12:19

@MrsF111 schitts creek is amazing, I love it so much 😂 I want to watch it all over again already. We started watching superstore as our easy watch, after finishing Kim’s convenience last week (also an easy funny watch!)

@Pancakes7 hope you’re feeling okay, you’re almost there ❤️ Glad your mum is with you today as that’s distracting you a little bit I’m sure. It only helped me sometimes, but I tried to look at the statistics of miscarriage as it goes down every day.

Hope you get good work news @Firevie 😊

My work was exhausting yesterday, and my husband worked late last night and then needed some ‘downtime’ of watching tv before he would go to bed so it was 12 before we were going to sleep (I can’t sleep properly if he’s not in bed as I know he’ll wake me 🤦‍♀️) and then he woke up at 5 and was on his phone which woke me and then we got up at 6 for our shopping so I never got back to sleep! Currently lying on the sofa with a blanket on my lunch break as I’ve another busy afternoon 🤦‍♀️ I don’t think my husband takes me seriously when I say I’m tired, he just responds with ‘I know, me too’ and thinks I’m tired because of not getting enough sleep or something else, but never thinks about it being pregnancy related 😂

Pancakes7 · 10/03/2021 15:00

@PumpkinEverything Yeah the statistics don't help as I know my miscarriages are missed in the past so it would have already happened but
I wouldn't know till the scan. But thank you.

@MrsF111 Schitts creek is brilliant!! Also Superstore. Love them both.

I just watched the circle celeb edition from last night. Loving that. Not sure if any of you watch it?

OP posts:
Pancakes7 · 10/03/2021 15:08

@PumpkinEverything I go to bed before my DH as I get too tired some nights. I think you should go to bed anyway. You might find you're so tired, you'll fall asleep without him.

OP posts:
JRH4622 · 10/03/2021 15:52

@PumpkinEverything DHs are so charming sometimes aren't they! I own tiredness in our house but when I say "I feel sick" my partner says "Good!" Hahaha its annoying but I know he means its good that I am having symptoms but its when he says "I hope you are actually sick" that I want to hit him!

PumpkinEverything · 10/03/2021 16:12

I always try @Pancakes7 but I feel like I’m lying there in some sort of half awake; half asleep daze 😂

@JRH4622 they’re a nuisance! I feel bad for him sometimes right now tho 😂 he came downstairs to see if I was okay while he had a minute between calls and I went off on one about being tired and he’s not listening, and he said he does, what do I want him to do, and I said well you could offer to do things, and he said that’s not fair and he does. And I was like eh no you don’t, and I’m really trying to still do my part but everytime I ask you to do something like put the recycling out you complain about it 💁‍♀️ And he was like 😳 I just came down to check on you, not for this... and made a joke and I’m like don’t you get me started 😂😂 and then I notice he’s left the wash basket at the bottom of the stairs after I’d done two loads today (during work might I add!) but haven’t had a minute to bring it back up 🤦‍♀️

JRH4622 · 10/03/2021 16:19

@PumpkinEverythingI am very lucky, my partner is like an old fashioned housewife! I cook and he doesn't everything else bless him...I walk the dogs more than him but I bring them home caked in mud and he baths them!! LOL
We joke about the "Progesterone Monster" as soon as I start the pessaries I turn into an unreasonable monster! Although I have noticed this time because I feel chilled out (Its so hard some days!) that my angry and bad moods are loads better than last time!
I think he feels sorry for me because I have to inject myself daily with blood thinners and it really hurts so I get sympathy for that only!

Pancakes7 · 10/03/2021 16:31

@PumpkinEverything Haha oh dear 🙈 I bet he regretted popping down. But tbh sometimes you just need to get it off your chest.

@JRH4622 we're similar, DH does all of the cooking (I occasionally cook) and he does tidy the kitchen sometimes. I do everything else plus looking after our son. But he does do bath & bed at least once a week. I'm on furlough not working. So I think it balances out.

To wveryone having scans tomorrow - I’m sending lots of positive thoughts your way!! I was feeling similar for my forst scan, it’s hard not to - but I feel like each positive scan helps me to be less anxious the next time! I was atill nervous when I went for my one of Sunday - but no where near as bad as I had been at the first one!

I had my midwife appointment for bloods today - apparently when you give urine samples, you need to wee a bit first, then get the ‘mid’ flow so to speak - I had no idea about this lol! I’m hoping I don’t have to give another 🙄

I love Superstore - I really want season 6 now lol! We are currently watching ugly betty in the eves as I remembered it after watching superstore and seeing Amy.

bookwitch13 · 10/03/2021 16:38

Hope you’re all well! 5w +2 now. Very tired, boobs seem to be rivalling Dolly Parton’s all of a sudden and I can’t decide if I have no appetite or am ravenous Grin

Still bloody terrified and trying to look out for every symptom but trying to ride this out as many more weeks to go yet!

Love to you all x

When I used to work in obstetric triage, we used to get the ladies do wipe once with cotton wool before having a wee- I think it is supposed to help get an untainted sample if that makes sense haha
PumpkinEverything · 10/03/2021 16:41

Aw I would definitely feel sorry for you too @JRH4622 so I’m glad he’s giving you a bit of sympathy! @Pancakes7 I keep feeling like some sort of psycho because I keep going off on these types of rants 😂 I’m clearly way more hormonal than I realise! Hope it all calms down soon so I can feel like myself. It’s just us so I normally try to split the house work, so I’ll keep the kitchen and living room clean and tidy, and I get him to do the bathrooms. I do most of the cooking because I finish work first and then he does the dishes, and then he likes to think of himself as doing the ‘outdoor’ things (even tho there are lots of months in the year where he doesn’t have to do anything 🤔) thankfully he does plenty, but I just wish I didn’t have to ask him to do it and that he’d think about it himself 😂

Pancakes7 · 10/03/2021 16:46

@Bellabubble I've never been told that. I gave a sample every appointment with midwife and never mentioned that. I just get my first bit of urine 🤷🏼‍♀️ generally you have to bring one every time. I was given my own pot to use lol.
