@marplemead yay very pleased for you! I’m 11+5 today but my EDD is 17Oct based on my LMP. So quite close to you guys.
Right, I’m gonna stare at the screen next Thursday to see the baby wiggle and will eat some chocolate beforehand. Haha
But my baby measured exactly right yesterday and we heard a strong heartbeat and my doc was happy with what he saw so I’m happy 😊 xxx

Pancakes7 · 31/03/2021 21:30

Wonderful scan photos @PumpkinEverything & @marplemead ❤️ I'm glad you got the measurements in the end.

@imisscoffee Aww your children sound so lovely. I'm so glad all is well and you told them. 💗

@marplemead they look so cosy in your photo! As if they’re sitting up leaning against you chilling out 😁 glad you got there in the end tho!

Yeah def be happy @Firevie ! Baby was probably just sleeping. It was actually quite funny as I started laughing when I saw mine wiggling so much that it meant the scan kept going all funny as obviously my stomach was then moving about a lot 😂

lamby12 · 01/04/2021 07:13

Congrats on your lovely scan photos ladies!

For you guys who are around the end of the first trimester, when did your sickness peak/ease?? (If it has..) I've had about a week now of all day nausea and I'm struggling (I'm 7 weeks, I know I've got so far to go!)

With my daughter I had classic morning sickness, occasionally was actually sick but it was always a difficult morning then nothing after the first few hours. It had eased by 12 weeks but I can't remember when.

This time round I'm feeling nauseous all day. I haven't actually been sick but feel so sick I just want to curl up. It's only tending ease for a few hours mid afternoon, then back at tea time. It's worse at bedtime and I've just been crawling to bed as early as possible, and then waking up still feeling it.

When did yours peak? And has it eased yet?

smarty4 · 01/04/2021 07:23

@lamby12 my nausea sounds like yours, all day and worse in the evenings. I go to bed at 8/9pm to just sleep it off. Mine has eased at 12 weeks. I'm 13 weeks today.

Lovely scan pictures all. Mine is next week😬

JRH4622 · 01/04/2021 09:33

@MrsTD88 Thank you, I went for a lovely walk with my friend who knows so was able to chat it over and then take my mind of it!
@lamby12 so pleased you had a good scan, such a relief for you! Hopefully you can relax now! I have nausea in the afternoons mainly, I'm 9+1 but kicked up a gear last week and had a few bad days but the midwife said it might be a growth spurt which can cause increased symptoms! Nice to hear some explanation even if it is guess work!
@marplemead @PumpkinEverything@imisscoffee Wonderful to see your scans! Loads of great news! So happy for you all!

marplemead · 01/04/2021 09:54

Thanks all! It's so lovely to have so much good news on this thread.

Is anyone else on 5mg folic acid? I forgot to ask my consultant whether I need to take them beyond 12wks and it's not written down anywhere.

JRH4622 · 01/04/2021 10:07

@marplemead I'm on 5mg Folic Acid, I've not been told to stop at 12 weeks yet...I'm 9+1. Can you call your midwife? It cant hurt you so I would take it until someone tells you to stop!

marplemead · 01/04/2021 10:12

Thanks @JRH4622! I'll keep taking until the pack finishes, as you're right - it can't hurt. At least the progesterone finishes today, so that's one less thing to remember to take.

JRH4622 · 01/04/2021 10:15

@marplemead Amazing, I hope mine is the same! Hate that stuff!

marplemead · 01/04/2021 10:20

@JRH4622 Me too! Horrible stuff! My DH keeps asking when I am allowed to stop - I'm guessing that's code for 'When are you going to stop being so moody/tired/irritable?' Grin

JRH4622 · 01/04/2021 10:24

@marplemead it turns us into monsters doesn't it! My DH calls me it the "Progesterone Monster!" Pregnancy after that will be smooth sailing!

MrsTD88 · 01/04/2021 10:55

@marplemead I was on 5mg folic acid, I stopped taking it after my dating scan (13+2). The midwife said it's fine to stop after the first trimester. The advice was the same with my first baby. I am taking pregnacare and that has 4mg in it, I was taking both for the first 13 weeks and she said that was fine too.

imisscoffee · 01/04/2021 10:58

@marplemead I'm on 5mg folic acid and asked the midwife at the scan yesterday, she just said to take it until the pack finishes but to continue vitamin D all the way through.

marplemead · 01/04/2021 11:08

Thanks @MrsTD88 and @imisscoffee!
I'll take the folic acid until the pack finishes, which will be 14wks. Then it will just be the aspirin and vit D. I don't think I bothered with a multivitamin with DD in the 2nd/3rd trimester, as my diet improved around then. Is it recommended to take one all the way through?

MrsTD88 · 01/04/2021 11:22

@marplemead I don't think it is essential as long as you have your Vitamin D. I have a full box of Pregnacare to use up and my midwife gave me a bottle of vitamins too (we are given those at our booking appointment in Scotland) which contain vitamins C, D and folic acid so will finish all that up then just continue with the Vitamin D I think.

Smurf123 · 01/04/2021 12:13

I'm on 5mg folic acid and been told to take it alongside pregnacare for duration of pregnancy - but in saying that I have a history of pernicious anemia in pregnancy so low folate, b12 and iron.
Been started on iron tablets every other day from today.. And told to continue taking the pregnacare as well

Bellabubble · 01/04/2021 12:17

@lamby12 i had that nausea..it was from the moment I woke until I fell asleep too! It went from 6 weeks to about 13.5weeks, I’m 14+4 at the moment and now get the odd day with big waves of sickness. Still not enjoying food yet though :(

vitaminb33 · 01/04/2021 12:31

@lamby12 I've been slightly luckier this pregnancy than in my first (where I had all day sickness) so I usually get some gaps in it and it's just worse in the evenings.

It's also been better since I gave in and stopped trying to eat my normal (fairly healthy) diet and now just live off white bread toast and crisp sandwiches. So I think finding something you can stomach and then making sure you eat frequently enough can definitely help. But honestly I remember this not working at all for my first pregnancy so I think sometimes the nausea is just a little unbeatable. If you're really suffering it might be worth asking your GP about anti-nausea medication, but I know that's complicated for us because the sickness can be reassuring.

ahuss · 01/04/2021 13:08

Hi guys hope it's okay if I join. I've just spent 2hours reading the whole thread. Congratulations to all those who have had successful scans. I am currently 5+4wks. Have an early scan booked for when I will be 8+3wks (according to LMP). Haven't had any morning sickness felt nauseous here and there the past few days. Really tender breasts. I've been put of anything sweet and TEA! No spotting or bleeding. This is my first pregnancy it was planned and I am very nervous!

Pancakes7 · 01/04/2021 14:59

@marplemead & @JRH4622 I'm on 5mg folic acid and my midwife said to take it till 14 weeks. Pregnacare only has 4 micrograms so it's fine to take both.

Pancakes7 · 01/04/2021 15:06

@lamby12 I had nausea with my DS from as soon as I found out, till about 13 weeks I think. This time it didn't really start till about 7 weeks and was really bad last week with headaches too. I'm really hoping it eases when I start work next week. I'm 10 weeks +3.

OP posts:
Pancakes7 · 01/04/2021 15:24

11 days till my scan now!! I need time to go quicker!! I really can't wait. I want to see our baby and know all is ok and finally get closer to being able to tell people. ❤️

Anyone else feel like it's ages to wait till their scan?!

OP posts:
ahuss · 01/04/2021 15:35

@Pancakes7 definitely. Mines booked for the 21st of April.... feels like a lifetime away!!

Pancakes7 · 01/04/2021 15:38

@ahuss Is that an early private scan? I hope all goes well. We've all had losses here so can understand the anxiety. I had an early scan at 7 weeks +4. Waiting on my dating scan now.
