@Whatshouldbemyusername mine was very much the same as @MrsB2019x 's! She didn't book in my 25 week appt as I'm giving birth in an out of area hospital so I have to book that with my local community midwives, but did book in my 28 week one.

@LyraShaeLilly I'm very inexpert at these guesses (still not sure if what I can see on my scan is a leg, umbilical cord, or nub 😂) so I might not be the most trustworthy, but I'm saying girl!

LyraShaeLilly · 08/03/2021 11:18

I also think Girl, but not sure I can see a nub? But everything that I can see that might be is facing the same direction as the spine so we will see!!

Dia12 · 08/03/2021 11:29

Happy Women's Day everyone!

Lovely scan pic @LyraShaeLilly. Oh I love a scan guess.....I do end up throughly confusing myself though. Anyway, I think it's a boy 💙☺️

I've studied my scan pics but none of them are very clear. My gut/guess was a boy. At my 16w scan baby was being cheeky and keeping its legs crossed, towards the end we got a potty shot and the MW pointed out the 3 line - so a GIRL!!! but she said at the end that she wasn't certain....will wait till 20w scan now!

MrsB2019x · 08/03/2021 11:53

@Dia12 Ours was sat on her legs the entire time too 😂 got giddy with how much I had to shake and jump to get her to move!

Whatshouldbemyusername · 08/03/2021 12:15

@MrsB2019x and @biscuitcat thank you! I do have some questions as well so I guess this will be time for me to ask x

Oh and @Dia12 thank you for the wishes. Happy International Women’s Day to you too and all you beauties out there x

Dia12 · 08/03/2021 12:24

These little ones are going to be keeping us on our toes for sure!!

I've booked myself onto a NCT course now, dates of the (hopefully in person) classes are in June....so I'm a bit excited about that. Anyone else booked in yet?

My pelvic pain has been really strange, almost disappeared last week but came back with a vengeance last night in different place - now my pubic bone hurts. I feel like an old lady trying to shuffle around.
So I figured I should order a support belt and see if that helps.

Millymay13 · 08/03/2021 12:28

I’ve just got back from my face to face 16 week appointment and so happy I got to hear baby’s heartbeat for the first time! I was so anxious going to the appointment (I think recurrent miscarriages have made me scared going to medical appointments) but it was so lovely. I started to cry and it took ages to get myself back under control!

Apart from that just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to pee into those tiny pee pots without getting wet fingers?! Previously they’ve given me a bigger cup which I used to wee into and transferred from there to the tiny one, but not today...I can only imagine this challenge getting harder as the bump grows 😂

And thank you to everyone’s legging suggestions, I got a pair of petite maternity leggings from loveleggings. They are a great length and lovely and thick with a slight fluffy feeling inside. I think when it gets warmer they’ll be too thick but perfect for now.

Alittlexmasmagic · 08/03/2021 12:53

@Millymay13 get some pots to take home, then pee into anything handy before transferring. Wrap in a plastic bag and pop in your handbag to take with you x

Checking in to new thread. @millymay I usually grab an extra pot at each appointment so I can take my sample from the comfort of my own home after getting stage fright a few times 😂, but they also give you a silver foil bowl thing which I never understood what it was for but last time I worked out you can pee into that then shape it into a wee funnel and pour it into the pot. Grim but less chance of pissy hands.

MrsB2019x · 08/03/2021 13:09

I feel you @Millymay13 my GP did that and it was not pleasant 😖 I second getting some tubes and doing them at home, far easier! I imagine you could order some little cups online if push comes to shove, anything is better than pissy hands!

MrsB2019x · 08/03/2021 13:30

Potential stupid question incoming - where have you all been feeling movement? I’m sat here and I feel like I can feel some flutterings but they are just under my belly button. I have just eaten lunch so don’t want to confuse them for digestion feelings 🙈

BertieBotts · 08/03/2021 13:42

Wet fingers are the order of the day unfortunately! I just wash my hands ASAP afterwards and dry the outside of the pot with a little bit of toilet paper. There is usually a little sink in the cubicle so I actually wash my hands before pulling up trousers etc. If that wasn't an option I'd dry them on loo roll.

BertieBotts · 08/03/2021 13:42

Under belly button is probably baby - they will have pushed your intestines up higher than that now :)

BertieBotts · 08/03/2021 13:44

Shame we're sort of in between the second and third picture, but you get the idea!

BertieBotts · 08/03/2021 13:46

Oh here you go, I found a fixed link to the tool they used so you can check your current week!

www.msichicago.org/science-at-home/make-room-for-baby/

BertieBotts · 08/03/2021 13:46

If it ever loads, anyway.

Dia12 · 08/03/2021 13:55

That's really cool @BertieBotts, thanks for that!

MrsB2019x · 08/03/2021 13:55

Ooh that’s really interesting, thank you @BertieBotts!

I’d love to think it’s baby but not sure I’ll be entirely convinced until it’s swinging punches 😂

ElonaWise · 08/03/2021 14:00

So happy to have found the new thread

@lucyrp my bump has barely changed. I often don't even feel pregnant. It's such a strange time. I can't wait to get to the 20 week scan so I can know everything is all OK. It's a weird time isn't it, you feel more energised but you can't feel the baby move yet.

To everyone here, all the amazing women HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

x

ElonaWise · 08/03/2021 14:03

@notinthestarsigns thank you for sharing your story, sending you all the love on Mother's day this Sunday.

lucyrp · 08/03/2021 14:13

@ElonaWise yeah neither has mine really which is annoying but I did notice that between week 18-19 they basically double in size from 15cm to 25cm in a week! Prepared to feel extremely tired that week 😅 so may be bump will change then ? Z

notinthestarsigns · 08/03/2021 14:13

@ElonaWise thank you for such a lovely message, and thanks to everyone else for your kind words too x

biscuitcat · 08/03/2021 14:37

@MrsB2019x I think that sounds like baby! I think I've been feeling movement for a week or so now, it's very odd!

@lucyrp 😱 where did you find that? That sounds terrifyingly quick!

In case anyone wondered what was going on in the case of the unreasonable SIL... she still hasn't given up! This morning moved onto messaging me and trying to guilt trip me about separating my husband from his family (which bless him, he reassured me through all my stress-induced sobs that I'm not doing!). I've been trying to be reasonable but the plan is if she messages again that DH will take back over and ask her to stop messaging and give up. She's not used to being told 'no' so this is something of a new experience for her...

Daffodil21 · 08/03/2021 14:52

@lucyrp @biscuitcat last week (week 17) my Flo app said 'the baby will double in size over the next 3 weeks and so will your belly' 😱😱 not sure how true this is but Flo seems pretty accurate otherwise.

I dread to think how I'll look in a couple of weeks if I double in size 😂 all you ladies who don't have much of a bump yet - looks like you soon will!

MrsB2019x · 08/03/2021 14:55

@biscuitcat I’m so invested in your soap-like SIL drama! She is an absolute headcase. Definitely worth your DH taking over, you do not need the stress!
