@LaceyMermaid Hope your bleeding and cramps have calmed down today, how worrying for you

On the topic of moisturiser, what is everyone else using? Cocoa butter is keeping my skin hydrated for the moment but turns out I can’t stand the smell of it 😂 Hoping to find something that works just as well but smells less sickly!

lucyrp · 10/03/2021 07:06

@MrsB2019x anything I have in the house to be honest 🤣 I seem to have got a collection of random body moisturisers over the years so this is a perfect time to use them all up😂 aveeno, body shop Shea butter etc. I try to do it every other day but I end up looking scaly on the day I don't do it 🥺🤷🏼‍♀️x

Caz1226 · 10/03/2021 07:27

Hi everyone
Hope everyone is doing ok!
@LaceyMermaid I have very sensitive skin anyway especially on my legs so things like body butter are just not an option but I have found the body shop vanilla yoghurt very nice! It smells so nice and it is based for sensitive skin also- maybe try that or something similar?
I’m also using bio oil on my stomach and thighs- mainly because again I love the smell but my skin seems to be doing ok so far so worth a try!
Is anyone else still working out foods which are a no go? I had some grapes yesterday and in the space of 10 minutes they came straight back up- another thing to add to my list!
Xx

LyraShaeLilly · 10/03/2021 07:33

Ive always had itchy, dry and eczema prone skin and have always used Vaseline intensive care, will keep it up throughout pregnancy too. Although Ive heard its luck and not moisturiser that prevented stretch marks!!

WatermelonKisses · 10/03/2021 09:20

@LyraShaeLilly

Yeah it's definitely luck/genes and not what you use that causes stretch marks unfortunately. I religiously used Burts Bee Mama Bee all through my last pregnancy as well as a really nice oil, can't remember what it was called now. I didn't get any until about 37/38 weeks and then all of a sudden got loads in the last couple of weeks! Think that's quite common. Still nice to improve the skins elasticity and a good bump bonding experience to lather it in when you get bigger 💓 I used to love it as baby would enjoy it and prod me back!

MrsB2019x · 10/03/2021 09:29

@WatermelonKisses That’s adorable!

I’ve resigned myself to stretch marks as I’ve always got them fairly easily anyway, I’m just so scaly at the moment!

WatermelonKisses · 10/03/2021 10:02

@LyraShaeLilly I'm the same, got lots on my inner thighs and hips from puberty too. I really don't mind them tbh and they fade quite fast.

wimbler · 10/03/2021 10:04

At my baby shower for my last pregnancy I was given the Cowshed stretch mark balm which is lovely. I barely used any of it last time so I've been using that on my bump every morning. Last pregnancy I used the mama mio oil which I love the smell of - kind of citrusy. They're both pricey but I didn't get any stretch marks last time. Even though I think that's down to good genes I'm sticking with the same formula this time round!

Started pregnancy zoom yoga too which is really nice. very relaxing and feels good to do some stretching. She had some great advice about my pelvic pain as well an recommended seeing a women's health physio so looking into that as well. Has anyone else seen one at all?

WolfMother326 · 10/03/2021 12:51

Good afternoon all, hope everyone is feeling well today.

Has anyone else started to get nervous about the 20 week anomoly scan? It has kind of snuck up on me (2 weeks from Friday). Trying to resist the urge to book an early scan between now and then...

Daffodil21 · 10/03/2021 13:00

@WolfMother326 yes!! In particular today. I do have a scan booked on Monday, before my anomaly scan which on 25th. I'm currently discussing with my husband whether to move Monday's scan to Friday and then just book another the following week 🙈

Whatshouldbemyusername · 10/03/2021 13:07

@WatermelonKisses 🥰

My sister has ordered bumpology from USA for me which gets delivered tomorrow. It’s very creamy I hear and it works wonders. It is pricey though. It’s kind of her.

I haven’t started any exercises or classes online. Hoping to start once I get to week 20ish.

Hope everyone feeling ok. I am still feeling drained. Got pizza last night as couldn’t be asked to cook and then today was feeling sooo guilty! 🤭

wimbler · 10/03/2021 13:13

@WolfMother326 I am nervous, mine is on Monday. Excited too to see baby again though! I haven't had any private scans so I've only had the 12w scan so far. This scan is the biggie for me though, just hoping everything is ok and we get a clean bill of health. Keeping the sex a surprise too! I remember it being far more thorough than the 12 wee scan so hoping we get some good pictures too

MrsB2019x · 10/03/2021 13:53

@Whatshouldbemyusername Currently eating 2 mini pizzas for lunch 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 whatever gets you through!

lucyrp · 10/03/2021 14:34

2 questions:

1 has anyone else had constant back ache/stiffness from the middle to lower ?

2 anyone else's sex drive suddenly ramped up?

Whatshouldbemyusername · 10/03/2021 14:43

@lucyrp I’ve had a few cramps here and there. Yesterday was almost too much in the evening. I’m ok today.

Sex drive - to be honest I never lost it. My fiancé and I have been fortunate to upto 4 times a week atleast 🤓. However yes in the second trim I read that your sex drive does increase x

@MrsB2019x just had 3 slices for lunch after all that guilt 🤣🤣🤣x

lucyrp · 10/03/2021 14:49

@Whatshouldbemyusername we normally have quite a high one but it was about once a week in the first trimester but this last week it's been every day at least once if not twice 😳🙈 also on the back yes mine is worse in the evening and I nearly always tend to have a hot water bottle to hand but it seems to have stayed the same so far today too 🙁x

Daffodil21 · 10/03/2021 14:57

I'm not surprised your backs hurt with all this sex 😂😂

biscuitcat · 10/03/2021 15:11

@WolfMother326 I thought I'd be feeling much more nervous than I am actually - I was definitely more nervous for the 12 week scan. I think because I'm fairly sure that I'm feeling movement quite regularly now, it's a bit less nerve wracking maybe.

@Whatshouldbemyusername I'm totally knackered too, more so even than the first trimester I'd say. We also had takeaway last night! I was tearful tired (bloody constantly tearful at the moment 😂) and it just hit the spot. (And @lucyrp, my sex drive has been right down the last couple of weeks as I've been so knackered! First trimester was really regular, but no more than twice a week at the moment - hoping I start feeling better soon before I get so big that it's inconvenient!)

MrsB2019x · 10/03/2021 16:36

Feeling quite neglectful towards DH now lol! We’ve only done it maybe 5 times since finding out 😳

Daffodil21 · 10/03/2021 16:41

Don't worry @MrsB2019x we haven't done it at all since we found out! I'm just too paranoid (I know that's ridiculous, and I know it's perfectly ok but I can't shift it). Poor DH 😂

My back still hurts though 😩

Magik01 · 10/03/2021 17:20

My back hurts, more at the bottom and just feels stuff really! Not feeling any movement yet either so at the minute just feeling fat 😂

Another question! What cars do everyone have? I had a three door 07 plate polo which I’ve sold today. I knew I did well to get to DS being 2 and still having it with getting him in and out the back- but a baby as well just wouldn’t have been practical. Does anyone have their car on PCP? Asking as I don’t have the money to buy outright and got a grand for my polo (which I was chuffed with really!)

lucyrp · 10/03/2021 17:54

@Magik01 I currently have a 5 door 63 plate bmw 1 series on Hire Purchase which is much better than PCP. My OH has a fiesta which was PCP and at the end for the balloon payment he got messed around. Hadn't missed a payment once and they still had to credit check him again to finance off the balloon payment and they declined him even tho he'd been paying £300 a month for 3 years and never missed a payment. Ended up having to take a loan out with amigo to pay it off and he's only just finished paying it off and he bought the car in 2015😳 sayinf thag I had a 3 door with my first and it was fine with putting the baby in the back etc if needs must.

lucyrp · 10/03/2021 17:56

@Magik01 we also have a 3 door 06 plate mini which is why I got the bmw 1 series when we started TTC a year and a half ago 🙈 needed something that would fit all 4 of us in and a pram and all the stuff you need for children too

Whatshouldbemyusername · 10/03/2021 17:58

@lucyrp twice a day?! Well done girl. Get those pheromones flowing 😁x

@Daffodil21 😂😂x

@biscuitcat Oh My God last evening fiancé told me not to keep touching my lips as they will get flacky and I broke down in tears! Apparently I said something like he’s soo mean 🤣🤣🤣. This morning I was like what was that about 🤦🏽‍♀️ - it’s the lovely progesterone working it’s magic! I think being tired adds to it too so I totally understand what you’re saying - wishing my life away, waiting for the weekend!x

lucyrp · 10/03/2021 18:02

@biscuitcat I can even do doggy style now which was an absolute no a few weeks ago! I'm sure it will get better for you

@Whatshouldbemyusername I've had like even more of a connection to OH this last week which has appeared out of nowhere but I'm not complaining. Hate leaving him ag the moment when we both go to work and I've been crying about how much I love him 🤣x
