Ahhh @diamante11 I'm sooo happy for you! I know you were very worried, that's fantastic news all round 😄 And look at our blue and pink hearts, awww! 😍😍 xx

Re NIPT, please don't worry, it is a personal choice. It is significantly more accurate than NT measurements and it can check against other conditions not just the trisomies depending on the type of the test you choose. But in most pregnancies it really isn't a necessity.

Update below! 😊

diamante11 · 16/02/2021 19:42

@PurplePansy05 thank you ❤️ I feel like I can start to relax now, I love our pink and blue hearts ❤️ xx

Smurf123 · 16/02/2021 19:46

I'm hoping to work right up until my due date but I'm a sen teacher so currently covid guidance is that we are to work from home from 28 weeks and then we finish the term at the end of June so technically off July anyway. We won't start back until the last week of August so would have loved to say I want starting it until then but we have to start before or on our due date.
I'm the main wage earner in our household so I will be back at work after 18 weeks maternity leave... Which will be the week before we then break up for 2 weeks Christmas holiday.. I think we might try and just scrape by with that week on statutory maternity pay though as it's our year to travel to Europe to the in laws for Christmas - covid permitting

Whatshouldbemyusername · 16/02/2021 19:51

@diamante11 congratulations ♥️

diamante11 · 16/02/2021 19:52

@Whatshouldbemyusername thank you ❤️ xx

Smurf123 · 16/02/2021 19:54

It's great to see so many babies on the list now!
I find pregnancy in general quite hard. I'm consultant led so scanned every 4 weeks and that will reduce to 3 weeks after 24 weeks but I still find the wait between scans really difficult. Especially before starting to feel movements..
Our next scan is on 1st March so I should be about 17.5 weeks should they be able to tell the gender by then?? I think we will find out this time round. We wanted a surprise with ds but think it would be nice to know this time.

RunnerGirl123 · 16/02/2021 19:55

Congrats on those of you who had scan today, and welcome to the new joiners! Such a lovely group of ladies here 😊.

HopefulB · 16/02/2021 20:33

Great news @diamante11 and @Whatshouldbemyusername, scanxiety properly set in here, 2 more (non)sleeps.

Re NIPT, I’m 39too, but decided we’d see what probability the combined test came back at and make a decision then - if higher risk then I would opt to have the NIPT test due to greater specificity/sensitivity. I wasn’t aware that it tests for anything other than Trisomy though?

biscuitcat · 16/02/2021 21:11

Welcome @Fran919 😊 my sickness seemed to go at about 13/14 weeks and so far hasn't come back, I hope yours goes soon too

@diamante11 congratulations!!! How exciting for you, and so glad everything looks healthy, a gorgeous little daughter 🥰

Champson · 16/02/2021 21:11

Whew that was about 5 pages of catching up to do!!! Welcome to all the new ladies!! And mega congrats to everyone with great scans - esp @diamante11!! So happy for you.

@BertieBotts - THANKS for the specific comment to me about doing deals with the shops!! Super helpful. And the car thing. We defo need a new car. Been leaving it to DH to research that one but finding it hard as we have a big dog too that needs enough space for 🤦🏽‍♀️ I joined a Triplets specific FB group that’s been helpful but will defo join that Car Seat UK one too - thank you so much for taking the time!!

I’m finding it all very overwhelming!! Also as a Canadian I don’t know he right words for things like buggy and pram and carrycot etc etc. Find it all very confusing! Anyway I’m sure I’ll catch up soon! Xx

MrsB2019x · 16/02/2021 21:42

@Fran919 Welcome! My sickness still isn’t great at 14 weeks ☹️ Though I’ve read that most people turn a corner at 16 weeks.. hope that will be us! (Or preferably sooner 😫😂)

@diamante11 Congratulations on your Harmony results and your little girl! 🥰

Sickness managed to stay away enough today to eat my body weight in pancakes 🤤 and ordered our changing bag today as Cath Kidston have some offers on so super excited for that to arrive! Love buying bits little and often to spread the cost

Whatshouldbemyusername · 16/02/2021 22:08

@HopefulB I understand. I am 35. So that was my plan but honestly the tests from my combined were good so no need to go for the NIPT.

Dont worry too much. Baby will be ok x

PurplePansy05 · 16/02/2021 22:16

@HopefulB NIPT can also test for multiple microdeletions, triploidy, Angelman syndrome, Praeder-Willi syndrome, all sorts, depends on the type of test that you choose and its scope. So, not only trisomy, although these are most common. It is also worth looking at the NPV (Negative Predictive Value) of the particular test and they vary, but overall these are very good tests. Panorama's scope and NPV are very good and that was the reason why I chose it. Hope your scanxiety will settle soon, keeping everything crossed for you xx

BananaHammock23 · 16/02/2021 22:19

Hello all - just checking back in. Thanks for starting the new thread @BertieBotts - I can't believe we've filled up 2!

PurplePansy05 · 16/02/2021 22:36

How are you feeling @BananaHammock23?

If anyone is interested, I attach more info re NIPT Panorama from the explanation sheet which came with my results, I found that very informative. But please note this is only relevant to this test, other NIPT tests will have different PPV/NPV/scope etc. xx

August 2021 - Heading into the second trimester
Jessicapebbles · 16/02/2021 22:53

Just marking my place here 🥰

afictionado · 17/02/2021 01:24

Marking my place. 🙂 Saw the midwife yesterday to discuss 12 week scan results and all looking good, heard the heartbeat again which I found reassuring but my toddler did not enjoy at all. 😂 Now that I'm past the first trimester I'm feeling a lot more relaxed than I did with my son's pregnancy, I think because I'm just more busy looking after him. He's at such a lovely age I'm almost a bit nervous about going back to newborn sleep and nappies. I'm sure I'll get used to it again quickly once they arrive.

Excited to see a few people finding out the gender, we still haven't decided if we will or not. Probably should since I've totally gone off all the boy names we thought of last time (other than the one we chose) and would need to make a new list if it's another boy.

Looking forward to reading your blog, @BertieBotts. 🙂

coffeeandrainbows1 · 17/02/2021 01:53

I’m not too sure how to add my details to the list? I’ve been here from the start but I’m more of a midnight lurker (or 2am because I can’t sleep 🤣)
But I had my private scan yesterday and we are having a boy! Can’t believe it! We were all convinced a little girl too but over the moon with another boy as my son has made me want a team of boys! 😄
4th august I’m due (maybe earlier as I’ll need a c section after my little boy gave me bad 4th degree tears 🤭😶) but shall go with 4th august still though!

MrsB2019x · 17/02/2021 07:14

lucyrp · 17/02/2021 07:33

@Alittlexmasmagic ahh we're not allowed to carry annual leave over so I have to wake all this years before I go on may leave and considering I've been wfh so far I haven't taken any yet this year only those two weeks booked in august. Not looking like we'll be back in work until the beginning of April at the earliest either so I have maximum of 4 months in work before mat leave and also about 2 weeks of holiday to take in that time 😂x

@Whatshouldbemyusername re maternity shoots I was thinking of having one done with the lady I get DS yearly photos with but she's gone so expensive I don't think I can justify and her style has changed so much to all brown tone photos etc so might just ask my friend who's good with a camera to take some shots on our local common or at the beach etc. I have a canon EOS1300D I think that's what it is so she can always use that too. At least that way I can pick my own outfits too x I also don't really like the poses they put newborns in for photo shoots and how they wrap them up etc so same for that I'm thinking x

@MrsB2019x ooo love cath kidston il have to take a look x

Got to ring the midwife today to organise my own 16 week appointment did anyone else have to do this ? Also I was told which might be useful for your 16 week appointments most midwifes you actually have to ask to hear the heartbeat as otherwise its not something they necessarily will do

Alittlexmasmagic · 17/02/2021 07:45

TMI post! Anyone suffer with wind in the evenings?
My DH used to state that he'd only ever heard me fart when I was sleeping. Well! Last night he practically got treated to the William Tell Overture 😂

@lucyrp that's not great they don't let you do that! Our bank holidays roll over too.

I'm not sure what's happening with my 16 week appointment but they won't contemplate listening to the heartbeat until well after 20 weeks x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 17/02/2021 07:51

@Alittlexmasmagic I’ve been having wind since like week 10. Every day! It’s terrible.

@lucyrp I’ve got the 16 week appointment booked as a telephone consultation. Apparently they said that due to covid they are limiting appointments plus 16 week appointment is just a usual check up appointment. I received my book in around the same time I received my 12week appointment x

lucyrp · 17/02/2021 07:53

@Alittlexmasmagic we have to take bank holidays as holidays too unless we work them which we have to actually work a percentage of them anyway so that's not too bad. Oh really ? I had my 20 week scan letter through yesterday but I had to ring the birth centre to ask about changing as the one I'm with is the same distance away as the one I want to be with.

The midwives haven't been exactly great there either. I had a loss in may and the one midwife told me "don't worry you're only young go and have a pint. You'll be pregnant again before you know it" hmph thanks. I also was supposed to have my notes from my 7 week booking in appointment which she kept and said she'd send to the hospital for my 12 week scan which 5 weeks later she still hadn't done so they had to ring her and she'd forgotten. She then said she'd drop them by my house which was last Monday and I still haven't seen them. They've also sent me in completely the opposite direction to what I usually go and if I had to go to hospital from that way I'd end up somewhere I've never been before where as the one I went to go to I'd be sent to the hospital where I had my DS and where we go for any other hospital appointments

lucyrp · 17/02/2021 07:56

@Whatshouldbemyusername oh really ? From what the band 7 midwife said on the phone yesterday it sounded like mine would be a usual face to face but I'm not sure until I ring to book it. She said I could have my whooping cough injection at that appointment too so I'm assuming it's not over the phone ?😂x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 17/02/2021 08:01

@lucyrp oh guess it’s different trusts different rules. A friend of mine is 🤰🏽 And she had her whooping cough vaccine yesterday at her week 24 appointment. X
