Pregnancy after loss - Autumn babies 2021

Hi All, I have only just got my BFP and it's still faint atm. I had an mmc in May 2018, I then gave birth to my son May 2019. I had another mmc July 2020 and have been ttc ever since. I just got my BFP yesterday, so very early days. I'm not ready to join both groups quite yet. I thought this could be a space for us all going through pregnancy after loss. As we all understand the nerves/anxiety that go with this. I hope it's useful.

A bit of back ground on me. I'm 33, married. I have a 20 month old son. I haven't returned to work yet since maternity. I returned for 2 weeks then was put on furlough. I will be going back part time, doing 3 days.

@PumpkinEverything I felt exactly the same yesterday, had myself in a raging panic that something was wrong, why were my tests not as dark as the control line, why did I not feel more symptom wise, its impossible isnt it to not panic!

@Pancakes7 really good strong lines today hun x

@NI101 sending positive vibes hun and hoping all is ok x

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 09:28

@gizmo167 have you booked an early scan? Sorry I can't remember if you've already told me.

@imisscoffee Welcome to the thread. I'm sorry for your loss. I started this thread yesterday so we can all support each other through this anxious time.

Fingers crossed for us all 🤞🏻🌈

@gizmo167 Thank you. I'm feeling happier with the lines today 🤞🏻 I think I'm accepting now that I am pregnant. I was a bit in denial, like what if the line disappears tomorrow.

I've got all these tests arriving today on Amazon prime 😂🙈 I got frer and early digital clear blue lol. Feel a bit crazy 🙈

I'm not ready to join a birth club yet. This would be a nice group to tentatively join.

I Had a mmc in November 2020 at 10 weeks, had been ttc for 6 months. Started ttc again in dec 2020 and got my bfp last week. I'm 5 weeks+2. Anxiety is there everyday which I'm finding hard to manage.

Bit about me, I'm 34, have a DS whose in nursery.

gizmo167 · 11/02/2021 09:35

@Pancakes7 no hun I havent booked any scans yet. I am going to get registered with the midwife and hopefully by that time I can talk about it with her and see what happens x

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 09:40

@smarty4 Welcome. Yes I feel we all need this in between group atm. Sorry for your loss.

@gizmo167 I’m so sorry to hear about your husband 😔 that must have been awful. In relation to your pregnancy have you organised a midwife referral or are you still waiting? I rang on Monday and have my appointment over the phone on the 22nd. Thankfully it’s the day after my first early scan so I’ll at least have a good idea of what’s going on and if anything is wrong.
Trying to calm myself down this morning. Got up and turned my laptop on and checked a few things and then my stomach was churning so much I needed to use the bathroom, and then that freaked me out even more that something was wrong, so I got back into bed and just lay there for half an hour as my husband hadn’t got up yet and the cat was there too. Feel slightly better now and I’m just really trying to push the anxious thoughts out of my head. It’s annoying because my boobs were only slightly sore and felt fuller, and they still feel the same today, but because they aren’t that sore I feel like it’s not giving me reassurance of symptoms! 🤦‍♀️

PumpkinEverything · 11/02/2021 09:59

And welcome to the newcomers 😊 @smarty4 @imisscoffee
Think this is a nice in between group for us with people who properly understand and we can share the anxiety with, and we’re all very similar time wise.
I’m in two October 2021 groups on here and FB, and surprisingly there’s quite a few girls who have had a MC and are now pregnant. Don’t think we ever realise just how common this is!

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 10:07

@PumpkinEverything I know that some of my friends have had no symptoms and their pregnancies have been successful. I however have felt awful with all the symptoms in the past and it's been an mmc. So for me symptoms don't help reassure me. Feeling the same isn't a bad sign at all though. Keep positive.

gizmo167 · 11/02/2021 10:16

@PumpkinEverything I have to call at the GP surgery to pick up forms for midwife, apparently how they do it now! I'm planning to do that tomorrow. I've had bouts of a dicky tummy too hun and I keep squeezing my boobs to make sure they are sore lol! I was really sick with my DD but that didnt start until at least 9 weeks and my cycles were longer then so I didnt find out I was pregnant until CD46 so it was all different and with the MC I found out at CD36 and had a really strong dark line but that ended at a day before 6w so I guess you cant really tell can you!

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 10:43

Sorry for all the POAS posts but I got my digital pregnant result!!

I'm feeling so relieved and regretting ordering all those tests now 🙈😂 hopefully I won't need them.

Yah @Pancakes7! I actually was in shop yesterday staring at those and thinking, should I????? I walked away after telling myself I really need to stop all this!

PumpkinEverything · 11/02/2021 10:50

@gizmo167 I held off for ages too, I had to ring the reception and then they booked the appointment for me. Glad to hear you’re feeling the same sort of way as me! It’s horrible that there’s not really anything we can do at home to check everything is fine. I considered doing another test this morning but then was like sure what’s that going to tell me 😂 I did one yesterday and the line came up straight away before the dye even reached the end and I know the same will happen again today

PumpkinEverything · 11/02/2021 10:52

@Pancakes7 can’t help but keep testing! It’s addictive haha. I’ve got one digital left that tells you how many weeks and I’ve been trying to figure out when to do it as I’d like it to say 3+ 😂

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 10:53

@gizmo167 Yeah no need to over test. I just like to confirm on a digital.

I've requested to cancel my tests on their way lol. Fingers crossed they can do it. I would rather save the money!

OP posts:
gizmo167 · 11/02/2021 10:53

@PumpkinEverything thats what put me off buying one yesterday, I dont want to not get the 3+ weeks, it will send me into panic overdrive!

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 10:55

@PumpkinEverything haha it's an addiction isn't it. I don't generally test after this digital confirmation. I think I'll leave it now. Just got to count down to scan now 🙈

I was going to book for 8 weeks. Only because last time I did 7 weeks and they said it measured a week behind but there was a heartbeat. I went back 2 weeks later and it was gone. So I'm thinking if I go at 8 weeks then hopefully we'll know either way. 🙈 the anxiety is starting now.

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 11:01

Yay I've managed to cancel the extra tests 👍🏻 save the pennies lol

Firevie · 11/02/2021 11:20

Morning ladies. Quick update from me- had my consultation with my doctor, he will do the scan in two weeks when I’ll be 6.5 weeks. He has given me Progesteron to start today (2 a day) and he’s done my blood test checking for pregnancy hormones. I had had my ‘normal’ blood test done last week at the NHS and the results were good but my doctor wants to check for the pregnancy hormones in particular so I’ve just done that test now. Now waiting for my progesterone at the pharmacy xxx

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 11:55

@Firevie That's good news. I'm glad they're monitoring you. Plus the progesterone is good. Is it injections?

OP posts:
Firevie · 11/02/2021 12:10

@Pancakes7 thanks hun. Nope it’s pessaries 🤦🏽‍♀️ Xxx

Pancakes7 · 11/02/2021 12:11

@Firevie Well hopefully it all helps. Better than injections at least. I'm not a fan of needles.

Strawberry08 · 11/02/2021 12:29

Sorry everyone, just catching up!

@marplemead Welcome! Congrats on your pregnancy. Is your consultant led through NHS or private? Glad youre feeling less anxious, that is key! Also I haven't been sleeping last few days. Not sure if a symptom or just whether its because lots on my mind.

@Lisyloo725 Welcome! I also just 'feel different' this time. I do think intuition is usually right. So just go with it!

@PumpkinEverything sorry to hear you are a bit anxious. I know you know this already but pains are a really normal part of early pregnancy, and I've got them a little bit too. But I do understand how hard it is.

@gizmo167 bless you, you have been through so much. So sorry to hear about your husband.
I think it is about time you had some good luck so fingers crossed for a sticky bean!

@imisscoffee Congratulations! Sorry to hear about your loss. This is a great bunch of people with similar experiences so feel free to vent/ share worries & concerns. Its been really helpful for me.

@Pancakes7 congrats on positive digi test!! I want one of those but I haven't got one, but I did a First Response Rapid Response (think sensitivity is 50) and it was really solidly positive!! So I am thrilled by that. May treat myself to a digital just for fun and to draw a line under my testing.. If I do I shall post the results.

@Firevie Ah good you have the progesterone. I am also starting on progesterone tomorrow hopefully. Just feel like its nice to have the extra support.

PumpkinEverything · 11/02/2021 12:43

I’ve went full circle this morning @gizmo167 🤦‍♀️ I looked up that I can get them next day on Amazon if I buy more and do the weeks one today to see if it settles me, but then I was like no because if it says 1-2 or 2-3 my anxiety will go through the roof. So I don’t know whether I want to do it at all now! But not today as I’m too anxious.

Been getting a few cramps today which I know are normal but can’t help but worry about them 😔

So hard to know with the scans @Pancakes7 I booked mine for next Sunday when I’ll be 6+6 so there should hopefully be a chance for a heartbeat. I went last time at 7 weeks but measured at 6+2 with a heartbeat, and then I found out at 9 that baby stopped at 8. So this time I’m thinking 6+6 hopefully there’s a heartbeat, and then EPU have offered me one between 8-9 depending on which I’d prefer. Don’t think I could wait that long tho so need the one next week!

gizmo167 · 11/02/2021 12:48

@PumpkinEverything yep that was me yesterday, I stood staring at them and my wee girl said "mummy why are you hanging around here?", I was in a trance practically!!! I just walked away and said to myself, catch yourself on woman lol!
