Morning Debs
How's the MS today?

ernest · 31/10/2007 07:06

Deb, I wonder if your ante natal care in Austria will be similar to the system here in Switzerland? Dh is moving to Italy tomorrow. I have told him in no uncertain terms I will be giving birth here. Don't fancy Italy somehow.

good luck for tomorrow again bsl.

I would be sleeping like a log if it weren't for my drunken husband staggering in at 1.15

debinaustria · 31/10/2007 07:44

HI

I've been sick twice this morning and don't feel too bad today, we have MIL staying so dh and I are off shopping to Salzburg without having to rush back for the boys. Whilst Mil makes me some mince pies!!!Yummy.

Ernest - how often will your dh get home? When will you join him then if you don't want to give birth there? Do you work in switzerland?
My friend here had a baby in the summer and was very impressed by the care she received. I'll let you all know how my 1st appointment is on Monday - can't wait.

BSL - thinking about you - any developments?

Libralady - an early morning for you!!

Deb

plan will be for dh to come home every weekend, so get here late Friday night (after boys in bed) and leave Sunday evening. I work part time atm, but only till Christmas. I just can't face moving again, to another foreign country, us all having to learn a whole new language, not knowing anybody. esp now pg. I have a lots of neighbours who can help me out here. The boys have loads of friends and are out playinging all the time or going round friends' houses, loads of kids live in the same street. It's just wonerful here.

I have had 2 of my 3 babies here in CH, so would prefer to keep consistency of antenatal care and give birth in a system I understand. Bu will be tough dh being away all the time. Practically single mother

But ante natal care great. Your other 2 born in UK? what happens re nationality of child born in Austria? Here they have no claims to Swiss nationality even when born here, but also don't have full british nationality, I guess the latter will also be true for your new dc.

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 31/10/2007 08:09

debinaustria - had more blood last night, this time more watery brown . I had a feeling there would be some as I had a little pain down my side - not sure what's causing it, THINK I might feel a little queezy this morning? (not reading too much into it in case it's just hunger or something!)

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 08:16

bloodsuckingLOONEY still thinking about you and hoping you get a lovely suprise on friday.

TS - Great to hear that baby is going strong. How does it work does your insurance pay for all maternity care or do you have to contribute towards it?

flosspot · 31/10/2007 08:16

Morning all- god you start early!

sophiewd · 31/10/2007 08:26

TS - Fab news so pleased for you and your DH

BSL - still have everything crossed fro you for Friday.

Deb - enjoy your day.

dylansluckymum · 31/10/2007 09:26

morning all! i don't have time to read everything, busy day yesterday!! just wanted to say thanks for well wishes with the sleep, i worked my butt off taking his cot apart yesterday to turn it into a bed (with him crawling all over it the whole time!) and rearranging his room, the first time i went in to check on him he was on the cushions i'd put on the floor in case he rolled off (sleeping soundly - it was so cute) so i moved him back and he slept through until 5am (from about 7.30pm)!!! i'm so happy i'm beside myself. the sleep did me so good i feel like a new person.

josey isn't that strange we've both done the opposite of what the old wives' tales say - girls are supposed to steal your beauty. my arse was huge with ds as well and so far i haven't gained a single pound - in fact i've lost a few! i looked at my skin this morning and it was great... and really smooth and supple too! and i'm hardly sick now except for a bit first thing and a bit before bed. now i'm really starting to think it's a girl!!

hope everyone has a great day!!!

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 09:39

dylansluckymum I have to say I'm envious of your good skin. I am civered in zits and have two giant cold sores too. I don't think I've ever looked as rough in pregnancy before!

PiggyPenguin · 31/10/2007 09:45

Hi everyone, like the new title! sorry I haven 't posted in a while, no reason, have just been lurking rather than writing. Am feeling mildly sick, but mostly just have really bad wind, which is really uncomfortable and at times painful.

I really don't want to eat and am living on crumpets and ginger biscuits, but still can't fit into my jeans. Does anyone know when ms is meant to end? I guess it is different for everyone I just want someone to tell me that it will be soon!

ernest · 31/10/2007 09:48

thought most symptoms supposed to ease at about 12 weeks. but varies widely of course

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 09:50

Sickness usually calms down around 12 weeks but with DD2 I had really bad sickness until 18 weeks which was horrible as I used to have to sit on the pavement when I was outside as I felt so ill. Thankfully that is the only pregnancy I have really felt sick in.

ChinaSurprise · 31/10/2007 10:09

Morning all.
What a night. After having my scan yesterday, no bleeding for two days and everything seeming ok, I suddenly had a bad feeling last night and checked - bright red blood. I rang the EPC and they asked if I wanted to come in. Gave it another 15 minutes and checked again and there was blood clot which COMPLETELY freaked me out. Not big - maybe the size of a baked bean, but I never get this during my period and obviously was scared. Went in and had an exam - v tearful. This is my first ever pg so I have literally no experience to go on and reading stuff about my bicornuate uterus yesterday had scared me too (much bigger chance of mc, preterm, cs, defects, the works basically). Bleeding seemed to be stopping after a couple of hours so they did a blood test just in case and sent me home just before midnight. There had been a mass on my scan on the other side from the baby, and I guess that may have been the clot but v unhelpfully, the scanner hadn't put it in my notes, so doc could only go on my cr*ppy drawing of how I remembered my scan looking. Doc said my cervix is closed and she is "hopeful" but if I start bleeding again it probably is a mc. So upset. Bleeding pretty much stopped this morning, just a medium to light tinge when I wipe. But christ, this is indeed a rollercoaster.
TS so glad to hear your good news and BSL sending you all the love and best wishes for Friday - I really hope you get good news.
China

sophiewd · 31/10/2007 10:34

Oh China, big hugs to you and positive vibes.

ernest · 31/10/2007 10:41

sounds horrible sc. did they not scan you last night when you went into epu? did they just do blood test? how many weeks are you? Really hope it goes ok. I had a heavy bleed in my 1st pg at about 6 weeks. They scanned and thank God found a heart beat. I had lost a twin, but was still pg with 1, which apperently is quite common.

I wish you all the best, it's such a stressful time and tbh spoiled all 3 pregnancies as i spent the whole time terrified I'd miscarry, even tho in the 2 subsequent pg's I had no bleeding.

When do you go back/get blood test results?

Gracie14 · 31/10/2007 10:51

Hi all,

Just to say I had a blood test and scan this morning - and I have miscarried Very tearful and can't believe after 13 months of ttc, this has happened

Anyway take care everybody hope you all have happy and healthy pregnancies.

China and BSL - Hope all goes well, I'll be thinking of you both

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 10:56

Oh Gracie I'm so sorry to hear your news.

CS - I hope all is well and you get a positive resilt.

ernest · 31/10/2007 10:58

oh Garcie14, I am so so sorry. I hope you have someone to look after you. xxx

It'll probably be too early to be of any comfort now, but my sil took a similar time to conceive, miscarried early too. She was obv. devastated, but her dh tried to look on the positives that at least her body could get pg & sure enough, a couple fo months later she got pg again and had a problem free pg and now had an adorable 3 month old.

I hope you cope ok with the next few days and hold onto the fact it will happen for you soon. Take care. Again, so so sorry this has happened

flosspot · 31/10/2007 11:07

Gracie14- I am so desperately sorry- I went through a similar thing a few months ago and it truly is heartbreaking. There are a FANTASTIC group of women over at ttc after mc....

Sending you big hugs.

And big hugs to China....

ChinaSurprise · 31/10/2007 11:31

Gracie I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. Good luck for the next one - I'm rooting for you.

Re various questions about last night, there was no one available to do a scan (they only do mornings) and as I'd had one that morning they didn't want to do another. It had showed 8+2 and heartbeat, and all seemed fine apart from this slightly odd mass on the opposite side of my womb so I am hoping that this is what came out. Bleeding seems to have totally stopped now, which is a good sign.
Am booked in for another scan in a fortnight but the doc said if I have any more bleeding they will push to get it moved earlier.

So I am Waiting and Seeing. Finding out I've got a deformed uterus didn't really help my mood yesterday. Haha.

ChinaSurprise · 31/10/2007 11:33

PS. They've said they'll only contact me re blood test if there's something to be concerned about, otherwise they will keep on file in case something else happened.
But I'll probably just ring tomorrow and ask for them anyway - don't see why I should have to be kept in the dark.

sophiewd · 31/10/2007 11:57

Gracie, so sorry for you, listen to what Ernest has to say.

dylansluckymum · 31/10/2007 12:14

so, so sorry Gracie. i've also read that woman that take a while to conceive and then have a miscarriage often are much more successful the next time... it's like your body figures out what it's doing or something! really hope that is that case for you. {big hugs} at this terrible time. xx

cs hopefully everything works out. a strong heartbeat in a scan is a good sign!! try to take it easy over the next couple weeks if you can.

goingfor3 i think it's only fair i have good skin this time (touch wood it stays this way!) after last time - my back was so covered there was no skin in between spots and i still have scars although i never touched it. it was traumatic and made me never want to have another baby. but since it cleared up as soon as he was born i thought i could grin and bear it again... now hopefully i get a break this time! i also put on over 4 stone (!) mostly because i was eating so much because i was so depressed about my skin and dandruff and only lost 1/2 stone when i gave birth! i'm still 1 1/2 stone heavier than when i got pregnant with ds but at least feel human again. i had nicknamed myself 'the blob'.

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 12:44

DLM I had forgotten about the dandruf. The night before I had DD I was sitting on the floor at my mumsn house and dp shouted oh my god what is that on your head, my mum had a look and said it was massive dandruf. I pulled my fingers through my hair and it was indeed really gross huge, huge flakes. I was very peed off as DP and my mum kept commenting on how they had never seen anything like it.
