I'm sorry Ernest. You must be exhausted. I'm sorry the weekend was shit too.

I am getting just a tiny taste of having dh away (but with one dc not three), and I have the most tremendous admiration for you.#

hedgehog1979 · 11/12/2007 20:22

Didn't realise first appointments took so long - but maybe that is here @ Haywards Heath - Baby wouldn't behave so they could do the nuchal so had to have a walk to wake him up. But seeing it on that screen made it all so worthwhile . DH is actually believing it is there now and they have confirmed all my dates although he was convinced I was 4 weeks further on!! 20 week scan is booked for valentines day and now have to decide whether to find out the sex or not.
And another result - today was the first morning in about 6 weeks were there was no sickness, i blame it on excitement!!

debinaustria · 11/12/2007 20:57

Littlemy I am so pleased for you, dh was hogging the computer and I was rushing him saying come on I need to hear the test results!!

Hedgehog - isn't it great to see your baby for the 1st time, you can ease off the worrying for a while now!!

Ernest - what a bad weekend by the sounds of it, I'm sorry. Doesn't sound like next weekend will be any better, but I would drive on the Thursday night so that they have time to relax before the school visit if I were you. I hope the school's great and you can feel more positive about the move. I too have lots of admiration for you, oh and how's ds3?

Upsidedown - don't you go leaving us if you have different dates - it's not allowed now!!

Mellymell welcome due date buddy - I am due on 7th June too!!There's only 23 months between ds1 and ds2 so I remember the pregnant with a toddler stage very well!!As we're at the same stage - have you felt baby move much yet? I thought I did the other week but now I don't, still being sick though so I'm not worried just impatient for those feelings.

Well it's nearly 10.00pm here, I've been shopping ( presents just about sorted now, relented and bought a Wii)had a Chinese for lunch, had an afternoon nap, did some decorating, had tea, boys off to bed, had a nap again on the sofa, and now I have to decorate again. Every year we say we won't leave things till the last minute before Christmas and every year it's the same.If we were decorating in our apartment I'd say sod it but it's a guest apartment , we have just over a week, to undercoat, paint, and lay a floor.Wish me luck.

Littlemy fantastic news so pleased for you, fingers crossed the rest turns out as well.

Ernest, sorry the weekend was crap, hope dcs3 is feeling better and your DH got through the weekend ok, it must have been a rollercoaster. Feet up between now and Thursday as much as you possibly can.

Hedgehog glad your scan went well.

Mellymell hello.

Upsidedown, how is your MIL that is quick that she got home she must be doing well, you are not aloud to leave no matter your date, unless you want rid of us of course lol!

Bad day here, woke at 3am with acid sick escaping my throat and heading for my nose made it to the loo but felt awful after. Then when I took the car out the garage this morning I smashed the wing mirror, it was so cold it didnt do the spring thing it should and just shattered, I only touched it against the bin!!Anyway I didnt realise the back had come off and a quote for a new one was £250 lucky I found the back(spray painted bit) halfway across the garage and its dropped a hundred quid for the part. DH was mad with me though.

OK away to try for a peaceful night xx

debinaustria · 12/12/2007 07:43

Josey hope you had a better nights sleep with no more acid sick!Shame about the car but it could have been a lot worse - just tell dh that.

Good morning all, sorry been unable to catch up properly at the moment. DD is doing her nativity play this morning she is a snowman and has been given bels, we are taking the plasters for all the other kids when she hits them. Scan tomorrow at long last.

aberdeenhiker · 12/12/2007 08:09

Hello everyone - good news LittleMintSpy34, and hugs to Josie57 - I'm thinking of you!

We're still sick here, DS puked four times last night, fortunately DH got him out of the bed beforehand so it was on the wooden floor instead of all over the sheets. Fortunately as this goes on our sense of humour seems to grow - gotta appreciate the ridiculous! And none of us are sick enough to be scary - just yucky. I'm snorting salt water like crazy to try to clear out my sinuses and envying DH for popping sudafeds...

On the plus side, I'm starting to show! This is definitely earlier than last time around (it was closer to 20 weeks before there was any real bump there). Guess I should tell my senior managers soon...

Josie57 · 12/12/2007 09:01

Morning all,

Wow this thread was busy last night there seems to be so much going on.

Upsidedown - don't leave us now!!!! It doesn't matter when your due dates are you are part of the gang.

Josey - that sounds horrible. I too was awake at 3.30am but I was just restless so I had it easy!

Ernest - what a rough time you are having. Periods like these can be awful as you just feel like you are facing one hurdle after another with no end in sight. Hopefully, it will get easier soon. You are a miracle worker to be doing all this with 3 dc!!! I take my hat off to you

Deb - you sound like superwoman too! Mind you my husband also seems to always have a million projects going at once. I'm always thinking oh we'll just get this finished then he can have a break but then he thinks of a new project that must be done

Sophie - good luck with the scan tomorrow

mellymell · 12/12/2007 09:07

Morning all.

Aberdeenhiker - poor you surrounded by sickness and not able to take any drugs. I tell you, my DH had a cold the other day - usually, I am very sympathetic to man flu (otherwise he gets upset). This time I just pointed out that I didn't make as much fuss when I had a cold and I couldn't take anything, so he'd better stop being a wuss!

Josey - also, poor you - how horrible. I hope for your sake you reach the 'blooming' no sickness stage soon. I think I'm getting there - which is a real relief. There's nothing worse.

Well, I'm at work (full time - boo) and have a bunch of Norwegians coming in to do a seminar to a bunch of City boys at lunchtime - should be rivetting (stifling a yawn). wish me luck.

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 12/12/2007 09:13

Morning everyone,

I'm really sorry to hear that some of you have such sick househlds at the moment and very happy to hear about all of the positive scan results!

I'm so glad I have my scan this morning as when I woke up I was in agony and spent about 40 mins sitting on the toilet erm clearing out my system . I still have a tender stomach but do feel better now. It is just such a bad day for it to happen as it's the same day of my pregnancy as I lost my last baby but now I feel better I feel more hopeful that all will be well and as I said I am very happy to be having a scan today.

debinaustria · 12/12/2007 09:54

Going43 best of luck with your scan, make sure you rush back on here to let us know the results.

Sophie good luck for tomorrow

So pleased to hear everyone's good news!
Littlemy you must be so relieved the results were good.

Good luck with your scan today g43!
I had my AFP yesterday, so got to hear the babies heartbeat which was lovely, didn't hear it at the scan so very reassuring.

hedgehog1979 · 12/12/2007 10:00

Morning everyone

G43 good luck with your scan today, keeping everything crossed for you.
I do feel relieved that there are only me and dh so no illness although the morning sickness is starting to annoy me now!! when do i move into this 'blooming' stage that you hear so much about?

aberdeenhiker · 12/12/2007 11:23

fingers crossed for you g43! I really hope it goes well today!

josey · 12/12/2007 11:42

G43 hope all goes well, maybe your upset tummy is a mix of emotions and worry, look forward to seeing how you get on.

Aberdeenhiker hope you all feel better soon.

Cant remember who asked about the stitch like pains, I keep getting them but they are flooring me. If I try to get up sometimes I just cant move that pain is like my sides are being torn apart.

Debs, DH isnt being that bad he was more grumpy cause I think he new it was kind of his fault for moving something!!!
Im Impressed you got a Wii by the way you should sell it on ebay they going for £3,000
we are planning going 3rds with our xmas money with DS to get one when they eventually come back in stock.

nettiehay · 12/12/2007 11:54

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am due on 6/7 June (depending on which midwife I believe).

Also, I have a quick question - today I have started to feel a bit woozy and light headed. I made sure I had plenty of fluids and some sugar too, but it still keeps coming and going. Is there anything else I can do about this?

Sorry for the daft questions, but this is my first go at all this pregnancy malarky, so don't have any idea what I am doing!

Thanks

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 12/12/2007 13:47

Tummy is fine now as is baby. I had to have an internal as my bladder needs to be really full and at first it wasn't full enough so I had to drink some more water and then the sonographer left me waiting for half an hour by which time I was in agony so just had to wee. The internal was fine though and I had a really clear view of baby, cervix is a good length too. I go back in 2 weeks and 2 days (delayed by 2 days due to boxing day) for my next scan.

mellymell · 12/12/2007 14:19

NettieHay

the wooziness is quite common, but you might need to check your iron levels. I had that and found out I was anaemic. Since then have been eating lots of steak and spinnach, washed down with organge juice (helps the absorption of iron). You can tell if you are anaemic by looking at the inside of your eyelids - if they're white rather than pink, then you are lacking iron. See your doctor who will take some blood and subscribe some ferrous tablets. Otherwise, I have been taking Pregnacare - a multi vitamin for pregnancy which has some iron in it.

HOpe this helps

BTW I am also due on the 7th

nettiehay · 12/12/2007 15:11

Thanks mellymell. I have a midwife appt next week (so that I can meet my midwife as she was off ill last appt) so will check it out with her then. I used to have really low iron levels as a teenager - but found out that had a lot to do with the endometriosis I was diagnosed with at 17. I started taking Pregnacare about a week ago (after my folic acid tablets ran out) so hopefully that will help. I think a steak for dinner tonight is on the menu!

GardenAngel4 · 12/12/2007 15:35

Hello all..

Good luck tomorrow sophie. I'm on Friday after lunch. Finally.

Have been lurking for a couple of weeks as have worked myself up into a state and am convinced it's the worst. So thought I would just lurk in the shadows.Anyway only two more sleeps to go.

Have been following everyone. littlemy fantastic news and the same for twilight just brilliant.

Keep going everyone and I hope to be back on with some good news....xx

sophiewd · 12/12/2007 16:13

Good news G43 and good luck on friday GA4.

DD was very seet in her nativity play she was a snowman, and we were allowed to film, so have something to embarrass her with in future years

On a bummer note have really bad shooting pains in back and leading down left leg so I guess its sciatica. A daily does of paracetomal is helping and Deep Heat, loviingly massaged in by DH but have any of you had this and how did you cope.

Paromapu · 12/12/2007 18:07

Hello all

Upsidedowncake · 12/12/2007 18:51

G43, gald your scan went well.

Sophie, mine is tomorrow as well at 1.30 - and then my booking-in appointmnet too. Fingers crossed for both of us.

Welcome Nettie

Just found out that a friend of mine (a regular Mumsnetter) is due in June too and quizzed her whether she was any of you, but she swears she isn't on an antenatal thread. I know she's not Ernest, Debs or Har anyway! ... weird when real life and MN crash!

Upsidedowncake · 12/12/2007 19:01

Actually she could be any of you who live in the southeast... [Upsidedowncake looks around suspiciously...]

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 12/12/2007 19:03

lol at you investgating the mystery of the mysterious mumsnetter! It's not me as I haven't had a conversation with anyone about mn!
