Harhar. It's not me either. I'm in Bristol with LittleMintSpy [waves at LMS]
Good luck tracking her down!

LittleMintSpy34 · 12/12/2007 21:26

ooooo, I often wonder if I know any Mnetters in real life! [waves back at ChinaSurprise]

perhaps you should start leaving clues around upsidedowncake, talk about wearing your lucky red hat, that sort of thing. see if you can lure her out into the open!

good luck with scans, all, and appointments. We have our booking appointment on Monday pm, have become convinced that they won't find a heartbeat or something based on nothing whatsoever. Just need something to worry about, probably!

Upsidedowncake · 12/12/2007 22:04

Well I think this will flush her if she's on here [Upside narrows her eyes consideringly].

She said she wasn't, but wouldn't you ... ?

Yippee. DH back tomorrow.

josey · 12/12/2007 22:46

Just want to say good luck for the scans tomorrow.

Lol at Upsidedowncake you should change your name to upsidedowndetective, I wouldn't be able to keep quiet, and if I was a regular MNr then why wouldnt I be on the antinatal thread?! by the way Im in Scotland. I hope we havent scared your friend off if she has just been lurking.

Night away for another heartburn fulled night, I must go get my gaviscon organised

debinaustria · 12/12/2007 23:30

I have just slept for 3 hours on the settee, I said to dh I'll just have 10 minutes then I'll be there to paint - oops!!! So that's why I'm here at half past midnight, anyone else still sleeping loads?

Good luck for all in your forthcoming scans, I'm getting myself a bit worked up about not feeling any movements yet - reassure me please.

On the sickness side though - still sick but still only the one time in the morning and I can set my watch to that - like clockwork!!

ernest · 13/12/2007 05:52

morning everyone. can't keep up with you all. debs don't worry about no movements. 1st 3 pg ididn't feel anything till about 20 weeks. This time I have felt it a couple of times, but literally just a couple. def not regular thing yet.

I spent all afternoon packing the car. Dh moaned like hell when I chose a peugeot 807, well if I hadn't he wouldn't be getting a bed, table and chairs, box full of kitchen stuff etc etc, as well as a wonderful wife and 3 kids for the weekend of course.

Woke up early thinking, oh, he'll need a chopping board. Oh and a hoover, oh and a mop..... who am I trying to kid. I'll bet he gets through the next 6 months without hoovering once, sigh. He's been in a hotel up till now, but after this week will move into our newly rented (still unseen by me) unfurnished house, so I need to bring a survival kit that he can live in a house, bloody hell, it'll be a bit barren for him, but I don't feel too much pity tbh.

I remembered a bed side light, a bed, bedding, towels, chopping board and pans and crockery. Anything else glaringly obvious, ladies? We do have a couple of old settees in the play room, but that's stretching the goodwill of our peugeot a bit too far!

On the pg front, I am, thank God, feeling less tired, but am sleeping a lot worse and getting headaches now. Oh, and the sciatica has started I had that really bad last time, middle so the 1st 2 times. Am not looking forward to clutching my right buttock in agony for the next 6 months.

Who's got scans and tests now? I'm behind. Good luck to you all.

Oh, that reminds me, when I had the - was it or wasn't it - nuchal test last week, he said he'd have blood test results this week which would give clearer picture (?) so I phoned yesterday and the nurse said she'd try and phone back with the results that day. She didn't, so I need to call today. Been trying not to think about it. That's not necessarily a bad sign is it? Be honest, would that worry you?

debinaustria · 13/12/2007 06:20

Hey Ernest you've beaten me to the computer this morning, thanks for the reassurance about the movements with baby#3 I just expected to feel something before now, but I suppose there's 2 babies worth of flab to get through!!

Re your test results, I don't think it means anything sinister that the results weren't there, let us know what they say today if you have time.

Your husband is a very lucky man and your car sounds like a tardis to fit all that in.I can't think of anything else obvious to take apart from maybe a bucket!! I suppose he can get small stuff in Milan if he needs it but you don't want to be paying to furnish 2 houses do you? So now when you go down to see him for the weekend will you all have to cram into his bed?

Oh, what about a box of toys - you've probably thought of that - that you can leave there all the time for the boys.

Good luck with the results, the journey and the school interview. hope the house is OK too.

OP posts:
ernest · 13/12/2007 06:43

I don't think he'll be moving in till monday, but they've agreed to let him store stuff there this weekend, so thankfully the 5 of us don't have to cram into a single bed, lol, we're staying in his hotel. could've done with your brains last time I went - I didn't think of toys and the kids were going crazy in hotel, so we had to go to a toy shop and spend ridiculous amounts on new toys, which was very annoying as between them thy have got more toys than bloody hamleys. You've hit the nail on the head tho. He could easily get x,y & z in mIlan, but it'd be a pain to have to buy loads of stuff we already have.

just re read my last post. That's def NOT supposed to be a smiley by sciatica!

Am really hoping school visit goes well, and will be pleased to actually see the house tomorrow. I've decided to get up really early and drive tomorrow, as if we go tonight, we'll be really late to bed, then they'll be tired and grumpy tomorrow anyway, plus dh is going to work tomorrow morning, so we'll be stuck all morning getting stir crazy in hotel alone anyway, so going to leave about 6 am, so hopefully we'll arrive about 11 and they can sleep in the car and have a run around when we get there. Neither scenario is ideal tbh, just hope the school appreciates it. Am planning to wear my most bump-hugging top to elicit sympathy.

aberdeenhiker · 13/12/2007 08:02

congrats G43, great news, and good luck to everyone with scans coming up!

deb, I don't think I've felt any movements yet but last time I didn't feel them until 21 weeks so I'm not expecting them for a while.

and jumping back a bit - to everyone talking about pains in their bellies - I had sharp pains in my lower abs when I was this far along last time. They were horribly sore and painful but went away after a couple weeks and I think it was just my muscles and ligaments giving in to the fact that they had to move out of the way! It was worst when I was getting up from sleeping... this time I've only had dull aches...

ernest · 13/12/2007 08:29

ok, just phoned, risk is 1:2855, and considering I'm such a geriatric not, I'll take that as good - better than I was expecting, it was 1:5000 9 years ago for ds1, so not doing too bad. I'd like to think I had good genes, but looking at my mum and aunty I'm not so sure (shhh, don't tell them I said that). Does anyone else look identical to their mums? My sister was always so jealous of that when I was a kid. I've even got the same 1st name as her ffs. Looking at her now, It's pretty depressing. That sounds mean doesn't it? Better sis is pissing herself laughing now....

re ligament pains, I had them really badly (don't remember them the other 3 times) earlier, say at around 9/10 weeks. When I went to the doctors last Thursday he told me to expect them quite strongly, higher up in the next 3 weeks or so. Not had anything else as yet.

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 13/12/2007 09:31

ernest lol about what you're saying about your mum. DD1 looks quite like me and she is very pretty now but it's not going to last!!!!

ernest · 13/12/2007 09:47

goingfor3christmaspuddings she won't thank you for it . one day.

dunno where the 'not' came from in my last post "considering I'm such a geriatric not". I won't labour the point too much as there's them here that's the same or older, but I am and feel like a geriatric. no nots about it.

debinaustria · 13/12/2007 10:22

lol Ernest about the bump hugging top and looking like your Mum! I look like mine too

OP posts:
nettiehay · 13/12/2007 11:13

Morning all,
I just wanted to say that its so nice to have others to 'talk' with about all these things that are happening - all my RL friends want to talk about is cute little clothes and toys - not sleeping all day and feeling ill! And as far as I know, I don't know any other MNers so I'm not the secret snoop...

On another note - where does one find 'in-between' maternity trousers? I seem to be getting too large for regular trousers, however, I tried on a couple of pairs of maternity trousers in Dorothy Perkins last night and found that they were huge! Much to big, and nearly falling down to my ankles... do I just put up with that until my bump gets a little bigger to hold them up?

Thanks all, hope you are not sitting at your computers with scarf and hat on like me - it is freezing here!

goingfor3christmaspuddings · 13/12/2007 11:16

nettiehay you may just need to buy a size bigger than your normal clothes before you are ready to fit into maternity clothes.

debinaustria · 13/12/2007 11:37

HI Nettie - I'm due on the 7th too!!

I've seen some trousers on the Mothercare website that say early term trousers, and suitable for after the birth.

I've got some jeans with the huge stretchy panel, one pair just fall off me - the others aren't too bad as you can adjust the top elastic with a button.

Mumsnet is great for me too, as otherwise I'd feel so isolated. it's chilly here too but you'd expect that! Been decorating this morning with the window wide open - now that was cold.

OP posts:
ernest · 13/12/2007 11:42

my blooming marvelous jeans feel fine, worn since about week 8 then I needed a belt so didn't have to keep hoiking them up. And sil still wearing hers 4 months after birth. I never had any so comfy that would do so early or so long after birth before. very happy with them.

what's all this about a secret snooper? missed that do tell

nettiehay · 13/12/2007 12:17

upsidedowncake thinks one of us newbies is a friend of hers in RL in disguise... I promise it isn't me!

thanks for the tips on trousers - blooming marvelous has a sale on at the moment - so I feel a shopping spree coming on!

I have moved offices in the last 1/2 hour as my office is so cold - I suppose I should expect that when working in a 500+ year old palace!

ernest · 13/12/2007 12:31

I got a swim suit in BM half price at the weekend - only £12! Was very chuffed, esp as no one else in the whole world sells swim suits atm. I lost count of the number of raised eye brow and sarcastic, it sin't swim suit season now. OK; I wait till the bloody summer, never take my kids swimming again till then by which point I'll've sprogged up anyway.

WHich bm you heading for nettiehay. hello btw, you must've joined while I was rushing around somewhere. when's your edd?

LittleMintSpy34 · 13/12/2007 12:36

nettiehay I just got some maternity jeans from M&S - I don't think many shops stock them but I ordered online, and they've just got stretchy panels in the sides so aren't the full over bump madness. they fit great. Next are good for inbetweeny stuff as well, and Mamas and Papas, although they're quite pricey.

ernest good news about your risk factor, sounds pretty good!

upsidedowndetective I'm getting worried now, maybe I'm your friend and I've got amnesia? Yikes!

Off for work Christmas party in half an hour, a whole afternoon of sobriety while everyone gets trolleyed.

Anyone else having the odd small glass of vino, or are you all abstaining completely?

nettiehay · 13/12/2007 12:42

I'll be heading for the BM in Richmond, as I don't think there is one in Kingston (I live halfway between the two) and I'd like to avoid Kingston at the moment, as it seems like everyone on the face of the planet is doing their xmas shopping there!

I'm due on 6/7th June (midwives can't agree)

I must admit, I have been having the odd small glass of vino or champers since I hit the 12 week mark - but no more than one per evening. My DP doesn't drink at all, so gives me very disapproving looks and tuts at me - but I told him that if he expects me to spend Xmas with his mother, I will be drinking!

makecakesnotwar · 13/12/2007 12:57

Nettie- friend gave me a bumpband from Jojo Maman which has a button bit that basically extends the life of your ordinary trousers and covers the gap....makes no sense at all so heres the link [http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detailfash.php?type=FASH&code=A9117&branch=&category=]

She swore by them and thus far have worked for me, especially as extra layer in the cold weather.

[makecakes waves to all and sundry...looking for all the world like she's swallowed a space hopper!]

makecakesnotwar · 13/12/2007 12:58

link

Grr- I suck at this!

nettiehay · 13/12/2007 13:26

What a great idea - I keep being surprised at these inventions! I suppose if you don't have LO's in your life, then you'd have no idea that these things exist! I especially like that they will keep me warm at the same time!

Thanks makecakes

aberdeenhiker · 13/12/2007 14:23

I ordered a bump band from jjmb and I'd love it, except it's very roomy at this point in pregnancy and doesn't keep my trousers up. If you're getting one, be warned and order on the small side! However, I'm sure I'll get my money out of it later covering my bump - I don't want my stretch marks hanging out!

I haven't had anything to drink yet but I'll have a small glass of wine at Christmas! M&S do small 100mL taster bottles of red and white wine which are nice for pregnancy - I enjoyed one or two of those a week during my last pregnancy! (250mL bottles are too big, even split over two nights).
