Just posted on the old thread by mistake : here is my post :
Hi everyone. Thread moves so fast.
Am hoping that some of the lovely ladies who are here can offer me some advise and support - or maybe I need to post on a miscarriage thread.

I posted last week, on tue 23rd, having found out that I was pregnant on the monday night.
I am a diabetic on a pump. My blood sugars went beserk (as they did in 1st pregnancy) and I was told to come to Kings college hospital on thursday. Dh came home from work and ds , he & I went up, taking over 2 hrs to get there, and I was admitted.
I was put on a sliding scale insulin drip, plugged into the wall and was only allowed to get up to go to the toilet for 2 days - no wash. Had my blood tested every hour on the hour. It was horrific. After 2 days and nights, I was put on testing every two hours.
Dh and ds came to visit on sat, but then were unable to come again. I was in for 5 nights in all. After 3 days, on monday, I went for a scan.
I thought that I was 6 wks 3 days based on my period being 15/9/07. But she found a sack, but no sac within. And no hearbeat or embryo. The sac was not perfectly round. She estimated that I was 4-5 weeks. Said to come back in 2 weeks, to scan again. Said it was possible, that sac had stopped growing at 4-5 weeks, thus I had miscarried. Or that the pregnancy was just earlier/ conceived later than I thought. She said she would scan agin in 2 weeks and there was nothing more they could do, other than to see if I started bleeding in the meantime.
But they won't commit to anything.
And I feel as if I am not pregnant now. Had minor , minor pains , in my tummy, not real cramps as such for the last 2 days.
Then the lovely midwife did a test and said I still had very faint.....hormone, which you only get if..... there is .... like an embryo / hearbeat - someone please tell me what this name is horma-toxin- pppppp - something.
Anyway, my diabetic control improved a bit. And they allowed me home last night.
I have come to work today for a 1/2 day. my dh and my mum said I should rest, but I didn't want to. Am I being silly ?
I have sobbed and sobbed since monday.
I don't know if I am pregnant or not.
No bleeding as yet.
I did a pregnancy test as soon as I got home last night. I couldn't help myself. It was positive.
Please someone help me. What does this all mean?

goingfor3 · 31/10/2007 13:34

Oblomov I'm sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. It is possible that your dates were incorrect and everythin will be fine at the next scan. If I was in your position I would ask for two blood tests 48 hours apart to see whether your hormones are increasing as they should. Two weeks is a long time to wait in this situation.

imopop · 31/10/2007 13:38

Gracie 14- I am so sorry. Having had 6 m/c I know how you feel. It is devastating. You will have the courage to try againxxx

Oblomov-Sorry to hear of your nightmare. There are two possibilities with your situation. You could have got your dates wrong or ovulated later on in your cycle hence why the sac is measuring 4-5 weeks. At 6 weeks a heartbeat can normally be detected but generally not before 5 and half weeks. If you sadly miscarrying you can still get a positve pregnancy test as it takes a few days for the pregnancy hormone (HCG) to leave your system. I am sorry if this seems rather blunt but I think you want facts,
Good Luck and lets hope things are ok for you.
Big hugx

imopop · 31/10/2007 13:39

PS I think that is a good idea of G43x

Oblomov · 31/10/2007 13:59

Thank you G43 - I will enquire about the blood test for next week.
And thank you imopop - I didn't think you were blunt. I did want facts. Thanks so much.

superwitch · 31/10/2007 14:19

Sorry for everyone going through sad/ worrying times I really hope everyone is ok.

I was sick outside M and S this morning
I do so hope everything settles down by 12 weeks as I'm not sure how much else I can take.

Sorry if tmi but my poo is sloppier is this pg related - I thought constipation was more likely.

Dh and I discussed names last night Jamie for a boy and Niamh for a girl - has anyone else decided yet?

GardenAngel4 · 31/10/2007 14:47

gracie am so sorry to hear your news. Hope you have got lots of support;and wish you masses of luck.xxx

systemsaddict · 31/10/2007 15:05

Sorry to hear your news Gracie and sorry you're in such limbo Oblomov.

I am sick of feeling sick ... and don't even have it that badly! haven't thrown up just feel nauseous all the time, it makes it really hard to do stuff. Took ds to the playground this morning but it knocked me out completely. I too am holding out for the magic 12 weeks when all this goes away ... I have never heard of it happening on the dot like that but my midwife said it would so it must be true!!

Superwitch I am same (re. TMI) and was same last time too, some people respond to the hormones in the opposite way rather than getting bunged up.

We won't be choosing names just yet I'm sure - last time ds had no name for the first couple of days as we couldn't decide

calebsmum · 31/10/2007 15:45

Another upset stomacher here! Having horrid nausea in the evenings, can't wait for it to pass.

Saw midwife today for booking in appointment, thought I was about 10wks but she made it 8wks so am having a dating scan in 2 weeks time! Also took 4vials of blood and my arms are killing me. Was there nearly an hour and midwife is lovely, left with tons of papers, emmas diary, bump magazine ect

New edd is 16 June, will need a corset for sisters wedding in August!

makecakesnotwar · 31/10/2007 15:46

Superwitch- we had names long before we had the bean..... but then we also booked the church six months before we got engaged. We are forward planners!!!

makecakesnotwar · 31/10/2007 15:47

Ooo- by the way, I am flosspot with a new name! Felt like a change.

ChinaSurprise · 31/10/2007 16:19

Makescakes Just had to say, I LOVE your new name. After a pretty draining 24 houts it raised a smile for a change :-)
Blood definitely completely stopped now (touch wood) so am hanging in there. Need to try to chill out a bit I think.

Hoggle · 31/10/2007 16:36

Hi all,

Can I join you please? I've been lurking for a while, and am hoping if I actually start posting it will make this pregnancy start to feel a bit more 'real', if you know what I mean?

I'm almost 7 weeks pregnant, no other children, EDD around June 21st.

Josie57 · 31/10/2007 16:57

Hi Hoggle,

I'm 7 weeks today so we will be due around the same time . This is the second time round for me and it still doesn't feel real. I have virtually no symptoms, just no AF and positive tests to convince me that I am actually pregnant!

TwilightSurfer · 31/10/2007 17:40

Hi! I'm a bit out of it today but did notice we've got a new thread. I'll catch up later. Just wanted to post something so I could find the new thread quicker.

Nice Thread Name

GardenAngel4 · 31/10/2007 17:52

Welcome hoggle It doesn't feel real for me either. Second time round for me and I can't remember what I felt last time and when. But as with caleb I too am getting evening nausea???
Have just been round Tesco's and feel exhausted, sick, grumpy, headachy and my back is KILLING me!!

I had nausea for the full 12 weeks last time but in the mornings

debinaustria · 01/11/2007 09:22

Morning everyone, why did I bother eating the porridge this morning as 2 minutes later it all went down the loo? I thought it would be a healthy start to the day, I'd already been sick so I thought I was safe but no!!

apart from that everything else is OK - 8 weeks today

Hope everyone else is OK especially those having a rough time of it

Deb

Poor Deb it sounds awful, been very lucky and although felt sick wasn't and now all symptoms gone at 6 weeks, did check with MW about this. Did you go to Salzburg yesterday?

makecakesnotwar · 01/11/2007 10:31

Deb- it's you that seems to be having a rough time of it! My nausea seems to be steadily growing, though yet to deposit breakfast in sink....give it time!

ChinaSurprise · 01/11/2007 11:09

Deb - so sorry you're having such a tough time with the sickness.
GardenAngel/ Caleb My nausea seems to have transferred to evenings as well. Bit easier to manage I guess. But it's deffo eased a lot since I stopped eating meat because I couldn't face it (apart from the odd bacon sarnie)
Have got a work wine tasting today so am going to have to pretend I'm ill and go home early. Grrrrrrr.
Also, need to change my EDD to June 8 the hosp said I was probably a week further gone than my calculations.
9 weeks on Sunday. Hang in there little one!

GardenAngel4 · 01/11/2007 12:06

deb your sickness sounds terrible! You are my benchmark! Don't feel I can complain really!

goingfor3 · 01/11/2007 12:10

I thought I had got away with the sickness but I feel really rough today, I feel so sorry for those of you who have had it for a while. I think mine is made worse because I doubled my progesterone does, an over load of hormones has to have some effect. One of my niehgbours called this morning to borrow a carseat for her granddaughter as her daughter in law had forgotten to leave her hers and when she saw how rough I ws offered to take DD2 for the afternoon so I'm going to have a lovely long soak in the bath

josey · 01/11/2007 12:13

Hello everyone

Grancie Im so so sorry, wish you lots of luck with recovery and for the future {{hugs}}

Debs I think you have taken eveyones sickness you seem to have it the worst I dont envy you.

Im also having evening sickness start fading from 4 onwards and by bedtime I feel really sick and start gagging, when I go to bed its almost like having too much to drink when you get the spins.

China I will also be 9weeks on Sunday, well by my dates as not had them confirmed yet.

Hello Hoggle welcome sit down and buckle up tight

nh101andhertwinbeans · 01/11/2007 12:43

Love the new name floss!

I haven't posted for a while cos been very sick at work and have just been doing my work and going home! And I always get quite anxious when I log on to mumsnet because there always seems to be so many people having problems with their pregnancies that it makes me convinced things won't work out with mine.

Sorry to all who have had bad news, I noticed Gracie when I was quickly reading through .

I am OK apart from the sick feeling and tiredness (reassuring so OK actually). I look about five months PG already but it is quite nice actually cos I didn't show at all in my last pregnancy (got to 11 weeks). I am not even 10 weeks yet! The twins are must be going through a growth spurt cos I am starving all the time. Scan Monday.

Good luck everyone!

goingfor3 · 01/11/2007 12:46

Good luck iwth the scan NH101. How often ate you going to have them?
