beller · 24/10/2007 17:07

mmmmmmmmmmmmm cant wait!! Luuuurve curry! xx

toomanyshoes · 24/10/2007 17:47

hello ladies!
Can't believe there is a new thread already!
Just a quickie to say that i am up for Friday too (although might be a little bit late!) as BP had gone down to a normal level Not sure what a diabetes friendly curry might be though!!
Am now testing blood 4 times a day and got to go back Friday morning to see if i have managed to control my sugars. If not then its insulin 3 times a day! hospital staff still rude and unhelpful at yesterdays visit. Must just be unlucky and keep getting the bitter twisted old bags! I know there are some nice ones there as when I was in and out of the early pregnancy unit they were lovely!
Sorry to rush off without proper catch up but DH out and got to go and collect DD from nursery.
Love to you all and your lovely bumps!

fluffymummy · 24/10/2007 18:00

Amani, well done on sorting out the new thread - although I was about to propose a quote from MrsMcSpooky as the title "I think my bag's going to be a suitcase!!"...that made me giggle..! Any chance of renaming this one?!

fluffymummy · 24/10/2007 18:09

MM - very sad as I can't come out on a Friday night Otherwise I'd ask to join you as its just down the road from me....

Don't suppose you want to organise another get together for a weeknight? Luuurve curry..!

Mossy · 24/10/2007 18:24

Ladies, sorry to interrupt... if any of you are in Merseyside and thinking about breastfeeding, please click here

LilyLoo · 24/10/2007 18:54

Evening all managed to find you before you go off and start another new thread. wonder how busy these threads will be when lo's come ? That other thread didn't last two min.
Hi Mrs Mc yes it's the big 30 on 19th Nov so am hoping to have a nice relaxing weekend got a couple of pampering sessions booked. having a massage and a facial. Can't wait other than that plenty of sleep and rest think i will leave the others out clubbing Sat night ! Shame about the ebay stuff i have bought loads off there this week even got soem kids xmas pressies and am currently doing battle over some Lelli Kelly shoes for dd!
Have skimmed other thread and saw your comprehensive mat bag list , think it may be more of a mat suitcase But def agree on lot's of snacks and drinks for you and partners!

How is everyone else ? Hope you all getting along ok and have a lovely night on your get together. Sending you all much love and growing of bumps (are you all getting the ooh isn't it getting big now comments)

Will try to get back on before i go away lilylooxx

barristermum · 24/10/2007 19:17

Wow - a new thread and we didn't even get to Halloween with our pumpkin bumps!
Am so jealous of the curry night - Masala Zone was my suggestion as it is one of my favourites! Have a lovely time everyone - toomany, the menu has some meals specially created for diabetics so you should be fine.
Mrs Mc - so sorry for your dh - sounds as tho' the medical profession aren't too stressed and rushing about over it so try not to worry too much. Can imagine how stressful and didfficult for him it is to talk about.
Fluffy - fab we are east finchley buddies. We have been here 2 yrs and I love it. Whe wd be best for you to meet? Cd do supper at Nahling, Rugoletta, or bald faced stag. Or coffee at Del Amici's? We are in Oakview Gdns off East End Rd opposite deansway!
love to everyone else

fruitful · 24/10/2007 20:33

V impressed at your comprehensive hospital lists! Top tip - take the stuff in several bags. Easier to stow under/around your bed. And after the birth your dp can take half the stuff home in one of the bags. And take a carrier bag for dirty laundry.

Spooky you asked about maternity pads - I've only ever had c-sections when they give you a bit of a hoover-out! So Always Nighttime were fine. The hospital shop here sells a range of pads including maternity ones - you don't have to cover every eventuality in your packing.

If one of the consultants has his way I'll be in here till I have the baby, which could be 12 weeks (or 4!). I'm waiting to talk to the other consultant! . 2 more weeks till I get to the magic 28.

Dh just brought me the Blooming Marvellous catalogue; I warned him that this might be expensive.

cryptletsandtwins · 25/10/2007 01:05

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is ok...I'm mostly fine, except sleeping is becoming a huge problem, so you'll have to forgive my mistakes, I'm about to fall asleep at the keyboard

Amani, Nice thread!

Mixedmama Glad you got a good night?s sleep. I?m very jealous of you all meeting up! Have a nice time.

Cazzybaby Glad you had a nice holiday, I?m very of you! Good luck with your growth scan!

MrsMcSpooky, So sorry about your dh. To answer your questions I moved to Florida permanently when I was nearly 6 years ago now but I did originally come from England so when I post at all hours of the night, it's not because I'm a night owl (quite the opposite in fact) we're just 5 hours behind you.

They pushed for selective reduction on the basis that the risks of selective reduction far outweigh the risk of carrying triplets but if you look at the actual figures, they are bad? but not as bad as professionals make out . My dcs are all healthy and happy.

One of the things that you have to accept is that you do face a lot of negativity during a multiple pregnancy, but the actual facts show that it?s not quite as grim as everyone makes out.
HOM = Higher order multiples i.e. triplets, quads, quints +

Lilyloo?enjoy your massage

Fruitful?you sound like you?re coping really well good for you! I hope you have a long pregnancy!

Hello to everyone else, wishing you all well

beller · 25/10/2007 08:09

Morning all!

Loving the spooky hats!!

Great you can make it too friday toomanyshoes, sorry you cant make it fluffymummy and barrister mum ....

Hope everyone is well....very funny reaction at work after coming back yesturday and telling them the head was down..they seem to think im going to pop anytime now! hahaha Well at least they are being really nice !
Went to see a client last night for a couple of hours, and he was trying to talk me out of a homebirth and tell me that a c-section was best of all involved? eh?! I said if i have to have an emergency section, then so be it..but I wouldnt choose one...he wasnt having any of it! hahaha

Good to hear from you fruitful, hope you get some good news from the other consultant xx

Lillyloo - i seem to get the "oooh not long now" comment about 20 times a day? hahaha

Hope everyone is well xx

Amani · 25/10/2007 08:16

Morning all
Love the hollowen themed icons , , , , .

Bad night last night - been awake since 3am, baby was kicking really strongly, am convinced we are going to have a noncturanal one. Just as I fell asleep at around 5am, DD woke up and threw up everywhere, so had to clean everything up, new sheets etc, then DD wouldn't go to sleep and insisted on seeing all 154 photo's and 30 recordings on my mobile. Next thing I know, the alarm is going off, so dragged myself into work this morning. Think am going to need caffine today - what's the limit on cups of tea we can drink??

OP posts:
Naetha · 25/10/2007 08:45

You and me both on the caffeine Amani - just couldn't sleep after 3:30 this morning and tossed and turned the rest of the night.

Cup of tea?

mixedmama · 25/10/2007 08:45

Morning all,

Amani - you can drink loads of tea, and about 8 cans of coke (I remember being shocked by this)

Fluffy - I will def try to organaise something else soon as it is a shame you, Barristermum and Gingeme cant make it.

Toomanyshoes - as Barristermum said they do ayurvedic (sp) curries especially for people with diabetes so we may have hit gold here.

Barristermum thanks for the suggestion.

Amani · 25/10/2007 09:04

8 cans of coke??!!!
I'd be bouncing off the walls if I drank that many...

OP posts:
beller · 25/10/2007 09:34

yup...just checked
"It's important not to have more than 300mg a day. This is because high levels of caffeine can result in babies having a low birth weight, or even miscarriage.

Each of these contains roughly 300mg of caffeine:

3 mugs of instant coffee (100mg each)
4 cups of instant coffee (75mg each)
3 cups of brewed coffee (100mg each)
6 cups of tea (50mg each)
8 cans of cola (up to 40mg each)
4 cans of 'energy' drink (up to 80mg each)
8 (50g) bars of plain chocolate (up to 50mg each). Caffeine in milk chocolate is about half that of plain chocolate
So if you eat a bar of plain chocolate and drink 3 cups of tea, a can of cola and a cup of instant coffee in a day, you'll have reached your 300mg limit.

Remember that caffeine is also found in certain cold and flu remedies, so always check with your GP or another health professional before taking any of these. ""

mixedmama · 25/10/2007 09:54

I really fancy a nourishment... altho it says on the tins to check. I really craved these at the beginning of pregnancy and MW said everything in proportion... I think they have a lot of vit A or something. I really want one tho... a whole can cant hurt can it. I wont have another I promise.

mixedmama · 25/10/2007 09:55

Beller same convo on Dec thread can I copy your list?
