sent you a message

MrsMcJr lol at me being fount of knowledge. Just a lawyer who reads too much for her own good (I can fret for Europe never mind England).

Most of what I have heard about growth scans is from the homebirthuk email group, where members have regularly described how they have been discouraged from homebirths because of the baby's size which according to a scan was huge and then out came all these average sized babies. But I am sure these scans are good for picking up problems with the placenta so if that is what you are worried about they can be a great help.

Hi all
Sitting in interminable meeting, so shouldn't be online at all ...no time to catch up but just need to say...:
AngelGK77 - so sorry honey, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it this afternoon....too much work and a huge strategy presentation to deliver tomorrow morning, so I don't think I'll be able to get out of the office on time So so so sorry....promise to do my best for 27th
Big kisses and love to all, esp those who are under the weather or just feeling pants, FM xxx

Bettymamma · 14/11/2007 14:41

Noones going to tell us about Eastenders...

Mixedmama can see it now. I will send you a message. Can I just explain - my profile pic that is a glass of coke not beer as everyone seems to presume!

MrsMcJnr - your posts are brilliant. Would love to come to the Glasgow meet-up to meet you in person! (but am a Londonite). Bi-polar. I do worry about it a little. My FIL's father was a japanese prisoner of war which obviously mucked him up so FIL had quite a horrible upbringing which I don't think has helped his condition.

I enjoyed Roz shooting Ana - god how awful. The bloke who plays Adam is my sis's mate's bestmates ex-fiancee. Long link but its still weird seeing him on the tele and EVERYONE fancying him.

mummytolittleprincess - lovely name

Bettymamma · 14/11/2007 14:42

ps Awen - i hope to find you on facebook through mixedmama as well. If i tell you my name though you'll find millions of us!

mixedmama · 14/11/2007 15:13

Will hopefully be able to check my FB tonight ladies.

mixedmama · 14/11/2007 15:14

As for Eastenders...have a look in Telly Addicts. It involves traumatic birth so will just freak us out.

Bettymamma · 14/11/2007 15:23

I'm off to have a look. Such a masochist. Is that the wrong word?? Its a bit early for tv to show a traumatic birth isn't it?

mixedmama · 14/11/2007 15:25

It wasnt just too early for the birth the violence last night was just so bad... you wouldnt want your kids watching it. Honey was great tho, so convincing.

gingeme · 14/11/2007 15:51

Afternoon ladies.
I did it, I did it I realy did it. I cleaned 'that' cupboard out in my hallway. Ah feel satisfied and cleansed now
Sorry just had to share that with you.
Ok carry on all......xx

Bettymamma · 14/11/2007 16:11

well done gingeme! Very satisfying to complete a job like that.

Am happy I didn't see Eastenders - it doesn't sound very nice. I like Honey. Hope the baby survives. Honey is quite a nice name actually. DH would hate it.

mixedmama · 14/11/2007 16:11

well done gingeme

fluffymummy · 14/11/2007 17:06

Eastenders was traumatic...I only happened to watch it as I was in my hotel room working - haven't watched E-enders for about 4 years now, so this was a bit random. I was completely at the whole thing, really violent, really scary, totally inappropriate pre-watershed....

Angel - sorry again, very definitely stuck in office until about 6/6.30 at the earliest

fruitful · 14/11/2007 17:12

Hello all, just poking my head in quickly - trying to spend my precious time at home with my kids! And sleeping, of course.

I had a scan this morning, baby is growing fine. 80% likely that the placenta is growing into my bladder (oh joy). A week and a half to go and then I'll be back in hospital with lots of time to MN again...

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 17:25

Hi all,

Amani - Go tell them to stick it up their arses!! I'm so fed up with people acting like they do around pregnant women!!

I'm sitting here with Salem (little man cat) on my knee. He wants food even though they know they don't get fed till 6 at the earliest!!

I've just made a list of what we still need and it's HUGE. Has anyone packed their hospital bag yet? if not, when are going to?

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 17:32

Just read what happened in eastenders (never watch it normally) and OMG!! I'm so glad I missed it.

sabinar · 14/11/2007 17:46

hi everyone

argh.. I'm here for a big moan this afternoon - I have sprained my ankle again but this time it is really badly sprained and I can't put any weight on it at all... of course, after I first did it I didn't realise how bad it was and continued on my way down to the train station, did a meeting with a client, went looking for curtains in John Lewis (too confusing) walked down Oxford St to Mothercare and dropped in there briefly (have decided I much prefer shopping on the internet, didn't buy a thing), went to BabyGap to get a present for a friend with a new baby boy, then got the train home. Big mistake.

I think I'm going to have to cancel my long awaited hairdresser appointment, and go to the doctor instead. Meanwhile, I'm trapped in bed making little pathetic moaning noises.

hopeless.

and the worst thing is that I think it's kind of my own fault for wearing my 'client' shoes, which are just some black boots with small chunky heels... they've been confiscated by DH and I'm wearing nothing but flats for the next couple of months I think.

moan, moan, moan!
(although I do feel pretty pathetic moaning as I know lots of you guys have been through much worse than this!)

meanwhile - I went to an osteo last night to see if she could help me with my rib pain... that's the first time I've been to an osteo before and it was nothing like what I expected. I thought I might get a massage. Instead she ended up manipulating my gall bladder (apparently!) - she reckons it had been squished into a bad position and was the reason for the pain... apparently I have to give it a day or two to resolve itself so I'll keep you posted.

sorry for such a moany post! I'm going to go back and catch up on what I've missed now... now that I'm bedridden I'll probably become annoyingly chatty!

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 17:51

Sabinar - Sorry to hear about the ankle. well done to your DH for confiscating the shoes. I agree you should cancel the hairdresser but arrange it for the next day or something. If you're bedridden enjoy annoying your DH. I would

Amani · 14/11/2007 17:57

Hey everyone

thanks to everyone who gave thier support. They are just sh!ite at work - give 100% and generally have a good sickness record, but they don't care were as those who surf the net all day and are constantly skiving always get the attention. Well that's really put me in a bad mood now until I leave.

Sabinar - hope ure ankle get better.

LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 18:03

Amani - That was what my work was like, so glad i'm not there anymore. Just keep smiling and ignore them!!

Amani · 14/11/2007 18:11

cheers lucky - I sometims think I am too nice, going to be more horrible now......

Oh also my maternity cover got a bit stoppy today, as I showed her more work she has to take on as while I am off. what's the point if she wants to do my job while I am off?????

..help me......

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 14/11/2007 18:18

Sorry Amani - Pregnancy brain but don't understand what you mean. Do you mean that she's taking on more work AND has to do your work? Are they not getting someone in to specifically do your job?

nicky6 · 14/11/2007 19:13

am still working and cant catch up otherwise as barristermum says i would never post again. still up in the air e whether i can make dates.

Trial is very tiring and i have to do 5 flights of stairs to see my client - not sure how that is going to work out in the weeks to come dont fancy giving birth at the old bailey very much!!

Ante natal class tonight DH has really gone off going and says things like they are really boring i promise i will read up on it - yeah of course he will!

ANyway blood sugar a bit high so poor midwife had to come to my house this morning as the surgery opens too late for me to get there then get to court.

ayrshirelolo · 14/11/2007 20:53

Hello laydeees!!
How are you all? Nice to hear from everybody! What is Mrs McJnr like? how do you do it? Fab catch up like usual!
27th mid afternoon (3ish) is now in my diary, so barring major emergencies it will happen! I'm excited! Said to dh i was meeting some of you and he asked how many, so i said there could be 4 of us (mrsmcj, angelkg77, fluffy and me!) and he asked "what's the collective noun for a number of pregnant women?" any ideas? I'm sure he had some but is too well trained to say!
Had my meeting with personel people today re mat leave etc, not a problem! Not even a problem that my MatB1 has a different surname than the one i use at work! How mad is that? I was prepared to get a letter from GP, or produce photo ID in both names or marriage certificate or something, but wee wumin just said "och dear, it won't matter!!!"
Turns out i can take some "keeping in touch days" during my time off and add them at the end but i don't have to... told my boss to give me a shout if anything fab with a free lunch but otherwise no chance!
I'm very lucky though, i get paid 90% for 6 weeks then 50% plus stat mat pay for the next 33 weeks... can't really winge about that i suppose!
M/wife this afternoon, everything fine, baby head down and very squirmy! Have some swelling in my fingers but could be worse!
Can anyone remember how to copy the list of due dates etc so we can add the newbies and to remind the rest of us about who's first? I'm crap at this sort of thing, can't even manage to post photos!Just know i'm last!!
Oh, and turkish delight... love the real stuff AND the rubbish jelly stuff covered in chocolate.... and have decided not to weigh myself at all this time.. too depressing last time!
Night all, lolo xx

Angechica · 14/11/2007 21:36

I wanted to say thanks to everyone for all their messages here, also ladies on Facebook too. There are some thorny issues at stake but I think we are finding ways to work through some of them at least. The past catching up with us I think.

We need a new thread! I don't like looking through all the pages - preferred the old style!

Been out for nice meal tonight. I was naughty I had chocolate and orange sponge pudding and I'm not supposed to be eating sweets.

I foolishly also watched Easties last night and was really distressed. Wouldn't they give you an immediate c-section with an abrubtion though? I just thought for goodness sake can't they just let something nice happen to Honey and Billy for once though!
