Lulubump - your SIL sounds a little strange . Sounds like there is a bit of envy going on - you've got the stable relationship and baby on the way - if she can't get the stable relationship, she's 'accidently' got pregnanct. Plus, she sounds attention seeking if she is moaning about how hard life is going to be, if I were you just ensure that she can count on you for genuine support and not attention/pity.

Sabinar - shoes - ooohhh to wear 4 inch heels again!!!

Lulubump - your SIL sounds like she has slight bunny-boiler tendencies...eek! Am I being mean in asking whether she's really pregnant or just claiming to be so she can do more attention seeking? Sounds as though if she can't find a husband she's going to want your DH to provide lots of brotherly support...guess you'll need to find a way of making sure he doesn't get guilt-tripped into spending half his time around there helping her because 'she's on her own'....

Amani · 26/10/2007 12:12

I wanted to say the same thing too, but didn't want to offend you, but since Fluffy has said first; is she really pregnant????

OP posts:
sabinar · 26/10/2007 12:13

it would be great if she was fake-pregnant. Pity the poor babe who is born into those circumstances... Lulubump - good luck dealing with her... I'd be wanting to bob her, I reckon. She sounds v immature and annoying.

lol. no 4 inch heels for me in Spain, but a couple of gorgeous flats (thank god for Camper who actually do cool flats).

beller · 26/10/2007 12:26

lulubump..what a mess!
Shame on the married bloke ..and for not using something Did you know she was "seeing "anyone? I think that situation will need all the patience you can muster xx

fluffymummy · 26/10/2007 12:29

Sabinar - deeply jealous of your new shoes. In fact, that does it...I'm going to take an hour off now for lunch to go to Clarks (ok, not as cool as Camper, but comfy!) to try to get the new boots I saw last week. And maybe pop into Next and H&M at the same time....

Lulubump · 26/10/2007 12:46

FM- if you haven't already left on your shoe hunt, don't leave Faith out of your shopping rounds - saw some gorgeous flats in there the other day!

Can't believe you guys said that about my SIL being fake pregnant - PMSL because that's EXACTLY what I thought too, but decided I was being evil! Hahaha

Beller, she was 'seeing' this married man ages ago, but had told me it was over (and in fact poor DH had never even heard of the bloke before).

Anyway, I am used to her 'bunny boiler' ways, and DH and I have decided we'll be supportive, but refuse to get sucked in to her dramas.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I feel sooooo much better (big sigh). Really thought I was being mean, and felt guilty but you've given me a fab reality check!!

OOOh, only one more ranting comment about her and then I'm done, I swear.

When she told me she's pregnant, she said 'It seems that A has really started something for us' (A is one of DHs really good friends who's wife had a baby earlier this year). I just said 'Well I don't really see what relevance A has to my situation, but anyway!', and she said 'Oh, because they had a baby this year', and I said, 'Sorry but I still don't see what that's got to do with me!' Aargh, she drives me mad sometimes .

Ok (deep breath) - all done now.

PS - I think they should have give the face horns for halloween

mixedmama · 26/10/2007 12:58

Lulu - ditto what everyone else has already said. I guess just try to be supportive. Keep us posted, I am intrigued.

Just had a brilliant opticians appointment where no one tried to make me buy anything and actually spent proper time explaining everything to me and told me I could wear contacts if i wanted whereas a large chain last year told me I cant because of a stigma... this guy is now "my " optician.

beller · 26/10/2007 13:41

mixedmamma - did you manage to book a table, or are we to be seated when we arrive tonight? xx

Naetha · 26/10/2007 13:45

Maybe she's like that Catherine Tate character!!

mixedmama · 26/10/2007 13:54

We have to be a party of 12 to reserve a table so I will get there early and get us a table and look out for any pregnant women, altho I suspect my pregnancy brain will recognise you from last time. Did you get the map and everything.

beller · 26/10/2007 13:56

haha well i will remember you my dear....i should be there on time..was going to pop to oxford st while i was that way and get a couple more xmas pressies!

mixedmama · 26/10/2007 14:00

You are so brave Beller... the thought of Oxford street makes me feel ill. I am going to just get the bus down to the strand and have a coffee in covent garden somewhere. also, well done at already having started the xmas shopping, i have written everyones names in my diary with two people having a suggestion next to their name.... not much progress there.

sabinar · 26/10/2007 14:10

I suspect it will be internet shopping all the way for me when it comes to Christmas shopping this year. I'm never organised enough to do it before Oxford St becomes a complete disaster...

mixedmama · 26/10/2007 14:10

me either... but i have to have a list and know what i am getting everyone so i can just go and get it.

Amani · 26/10/2007 14:12

We give all our main pressy on Eid and Xmas is time for giving chocolates and other nice food. Got to admit I bought a few tins of Celebration from Asda and tempted to keep one just for me (no sharing mind you!!)...

Afternoon ladies consultant appointment went well this morning. Consultant was a bit miffed that the sonographer had not done a report for her but she satisfied my need for science by plotting the measurements on a graph for me

Gosh ? new format is a little different don?t like change!

Thanks Barristermum totally agree about Fruitful?s positive attitude; I?d be climbing the walls.

Fruitful ? I like those pjs too and they and a pair from Next are the only ones I have seen that are not in light pink or blue, surely dark is best at these times?! I feel really silly for asking about your birth now of course it?ll be a C, pregnancy brain made me forget why you were in there in the first place

Nicky6 ? take good care of yourself now!!

Ayrshirelolo hello!

JLtoo how wonderful to hear from you old friend! how are things with you and your not so LO!? LOL at you and SOH, hope the sleep really isn?t that elusive! ? please send her my affection thanks for your top tips

Welcome Babato congratulations! I am v envious of you starting mat leave next week I am due 15/1 and still have 8 weeks to work didn?t have any holiday to take to add in!

Beller Amelie is beautiful and don?t let anyone tell you otherwise I have a pale pink pair of PJs from BM already ? love them too have a great time tonight and enjoy your pamper. I start making Christmas cakes and mince pies tomorrow and have started freezing dinners for when Beanie arrives ? I want to have 21 meals ready and waiting and at the mo, I have 3!

Amani ? I might hunt for some suitable bags to pack this weekend too. You should have seen DH?s face last night when the Tesco order arrived and I squirreled off with bottles of lucozade, breakfast bars, sweets and dried apricots for my bag ? I think he thinks I?m a nutter this weekend I have lunch with a friend tomorrow, the vet with my poor cat, lots of cooking ahead and hopefully DH will make some space in a chest of drawers for Beanie?s clothes be careful in the attic and enjoy the Chinese

That all sounds strict Angechica! have a lovely weekend getting things sorted out

Naetha ? I think you are doing really well too hon

MM ? I am planning on a microwave steamer and have some bids in for new ones on eBay but I won?t hold my breath, I appear to be very unlucky in auctions!! How annoying about the cheque MM ? typical if the bank charged you, I?d appeal to them and see if they?ll refund the charge and minimize your loss.

Sabinar glad you had a good trip I?ve ordered a pillow like yours, I can?t wait for it to arrive, I am going to call it Nathan to wind DH up about my dirty dream last week

Hey MrsB I bought that manual for DH but sadly, the git hasn?t read it yet - grrrrrrrrr glad it has been a success with yours though!!

Hello Fluffymummy

Lulubump your SIL does sound like a ?grass is always greener? person, I have friends like that and it is infuriating ? how the hell do they know what goes on in your life and what is hard or easy? YANBU ? deep breaths hon, sorry to sound mean but she sounds a little immature and a bit of an attention seeker to me apologies if that is harsh.

DH and I have made a decision about Christmas chances are we?ll be here and so we are going to tell his folks and SIL tonight that we would like to host. We usually do and it is normally fun. I normally do do a lot of work but I don?t have to do quite so much and I will be off the week before plus it means I am at home, don?t have to drive anywhere, have my own bed and things and can sneak off if I get tired and they get drunk. Well see what is said but I?ve made up my mind ? going nowhere!

mixedmama · 26/10/2007 14:31

Ahhh MrsMC -not really the banks fault. Never mind. Glad the consultants went well, i thought it was strange that she didnt print a report yesterday i always thought they did just as a matter of cause really.

hi everyone

I got signed off for 3 weeks this morning, then had a great session with my counsellor offloading all my stress. I love her. Anyway, doc said you might be bored in 3 weeks and fancy a couple of weeks back at work.

NOT BLOODY LIKELY! i've got swimming and yoga and baby stuff to do, not to mention having the time to prepare tasty nutritious meals followed by a daily siesta and beach walk. YES!

I'm sort of recuperating for the last two months of pregnancy. Like a rich housewife, err, without the funds....

Hope you're all well, i'm staying off the computer today and going to cook a roast beef and watch a film.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend with lots of sleep, as few trips to the loo and lots of positivity and attention

luv Neuro xxx
