Hi All Thanks so much for all you best wishes. I have just added some photos and tried to make a profile with the help of my son Luke. Hope you like the pictures of Katie and you can view them ok. I look a little frazelled ha ha but I have just had a BABY . Cant wait now for news of another birth from one of you lovely ladies.

RGPargy · 20/10/2007 22:35

Oh Kayla, she is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! You must be so very very proud!!!

PS - you look fine in that pic!

silkcushion · 20/10/2007 22:38

aaww KaylaB she looks lovely. Loads of hair!!! and you look pretty good considering you've just had a baby. You have said on yr profile that she was born on 18th Nov though not Oct

KaylaBmummy · 20/10/2007 22:45

Silkcushion - OMG I always get the month muddled, thanks for that, ill change it now. Glad you liked the pics.

AnnainNZ · 21/10/2007 00:54

Kayla, just had a look at your profile, she is gorgeous. And you look great too.

(I agree with your film choice, Twin Town is fab!)

JARM · 21/10/2007 08:28

awwwwwwwwwwwww What a cutie!!!

I want one!! AND NOW!!!!

iris66 · 21/10/2007 09:05

Kayla - Katie is just beautiful . You look every bit the proud mummy

Silkcushion - how are you faring today? I seem to be echoing your symptoms and have been so hormonal the past few days. I'm really tired again today too.

JARM - your evening walk sounds lovely (I really miss living near the sea) and Congratulations of getting all the wallpapering done! (know you didn't do it personally but YKWIM ) must be a big relief. Now when are you going to rest a bit more!!?

RGPargy - bad luck on the rugby wasn't it (best team won though I thought). I sympathise with your noise problem. We've a green across the road from us and the boys are so much louder than the girls!! (iris remembers hot afternoons trying to get DS to sleep )

capecodder - never tried the massage (couldn't reach/be bothered )but know that delivery position can affect your likelihood of tearing and being in water would soften everything up wouldn't it (relaxing bath if you're not planning a WB?)

ELB1 - what a relief for you to finish work now - time to chill

Anna - your birth/postnatal centre sounds absolutely great. That must be such a boost knowing you've so much support afterwards.

silkcushion · 21/10/2007 09:28

Iris - I don't know what is going on with me. Probably flippin nothing but I definitely feel different. Crying suddenly over nothing, generally feeling miserable, loads of pressure in my pelvis/bottom, bump is tightening all the time and I'm getting pains but they can't be contractions cos I' ve not gone in to labour. At least yours will end next Thursday come what may. I'll probably limp on until 2 weeks after my due date

KaylaB - I didn't notice you'd picked Twin Town. It's cracking isn't it? and I guess you are a fellow Jack if you picked it (although I left there quite a few years ago Swansea is where I grew up)

iris66 · 21/10/2007 09:32

silkcushion - it's comforting to know I'm not on my own in this (I actually busrt into tears as soon as I woke up this morning ) but I'm sure you wont be going over (you'll pop before me I'll bet) I think it's all a hormone rush. PITA is all I can say (both figuratively and literally!!! ) hope you have a good day.

Pixiefish · 21/10/2007 09:37

love the piccies Kayla xx

silkcushion · 21/10/2007 09:39

Did you feel like this before going into labour with yr others? I guess I just assumed if you'd had a baby before you'd recognise the symptoms - very naive of me I now realise.

Also re crying when you woke up - I lay staring at the ceiling with tears running down my face for a good 5 minutes before kicking myself into touch! SO we're clearly both a couple of loonies.

It'll be sod's law if i go into labour now cos DH has just driven to devon to pick the stepkids up for half term (well until tues anyway). We'll be scuppered if I go into labour when they are here. Dsd (aged 12) is actually scared that might happen. Dss (aged 13) probaly wouldn't even notice

iris66 · 21/10/2007 09:52

Silkcushion - a reasonable assumption however, I don't remember with DD and was induced with DS so haven't a scooby whether it's all because I'm imminent or not .... LO seems to have been incredibly active the past few days, constantly squirming all day and night so maybe he/she's getting ready ? (though I always thought they went really quiet just before labour) I dunno, I'm flummoxed . I would rather like it all to stop now though and for me not to be so hormotional and tired (and loony )

What time's DH due back? I'm sure your DSC's will be fine if you do have the baby during their stay. First visitors and all that. If not then perhaps we ought to plan to go into labour say... Wed morning/ you free?

iris66 · 21/10/2007 09:56

Just noticed you're only up the road from from me - maybe there's something in the water

silkcushion · 21/10/2007 10:17

Can we make it wed pm? Cos I haven't been fitted for nursing bras yet and I need to do that in the morning. Oh no that's leaving it a bit late isn't it? yours has to be out by Thursday. Ok Wed am it is.

We'll have to feast on pineapple and sex on tuesday night

iris66 · 21/10/2007 10:24

I'll get onto Tesco immediately for delivery of pineapples 2 each ok? ...and does anyone else want to join us? Choudru? Pixiefish? you're both due around the same time as us I think

littleoldme · 21/10/2007 10:48

Kayla - Congratulations . Kate is such a cutie I want one now.

Choudru - Hope your LO makes an appearance really soon.

All you Twin Town fans. DH and I went to uni in Swansea and were there when it came out. A fab film I agree. We always considered it more of a documentary though

sarahloumadam · 21/10/2007 11:33

Congratulations Kayla! Beautiful baby and yummy mummy!

Silk and Iris - you are not the only ones feeling hormotional (to nick your phrase Iris) I have been crying on and off for days and isn't it tiring?! Also getting lots of tightness in my bump especially at night. The joys. Still have to move house in two weeks so hope I am feeling a little less emotionally fragile by then!

FCH - how you getting on with your new hair do? I love my fringe but it requires far more maintenance than my old slap-head look so I suspect it will be pinned back a lot after the birth!

Managed to cut and apply polish to my own toe-nails this morning! DH tried but was making a it of a hash of it so I managed to contort myself into the necessary positions. Think I will have to book in for a pedicure in future!

Going to birth prep class at the MLU where I am hoping to give birth later. Should be interesting...Speak later x

RGPargy · 21/10/2007 12:07

Morning ladies!

Looks like a couple of you have been up with the lark and chatting away quite early for a sunday morning!

Iris - I was really hormotional yesterday evening and soooooo tired too! Something in the air perhaps??

I dont know if it was bad luck on the rugby or more of a typical outcome, bearing in mind that English teams are absolutely crap at anything these days! TBH i didn't actually watch the rugby, but spent most of the match on MN Nevertheless, about an hour after the final whistle went (suitable mourning time do you think?) I decided to have my mini bottle of pink fizz and it was loooovely! Will have to buy more for when LO arrives, along with proper pink champagne of course.

Silk - if it's any consolation, i've been getting the extreme pressure on my pelvis/bottom/fanjo for weeks and weeks now. I'm not sure about the tightening of the bump because certain areas of my lower abdomen are numb from an op i had about 13 years ago so i cant feel anything sometimes, although i tend to think that its on the outside where i'm numb mostly. Saying that, i can sometimes sit there with my hand on my bump and not actually feel kicks etc on my tummy, but can feel it on my hand. Maybe (with any luck) i'll not feel labour until the last minute and i'll get my pain free labour after all! Oh and as for feeling like it with other DCs, i do remember having the heavy pelvis feeling with DS but that was for about 5 weeks or so before he was born so i dont think that's related to labour IME.

Pineapples - keep that revolting devil's food to yourselves thanx very much!!! eeewwww!!!

When is the best time to get fitted for a nursing bra? Seeing as i've got just over 5 weeks left i spose i better sort something out in that department. My bras are diminishing again because i've had to throw one out because the wires have decided to poke out and stab me in the underarm. Not good! So now i only have one underwired bra (in pg size) and two non-wired.

Sarah - glad you managed to get your nails done in the end. I know what you mean about DHs trying their best, but they do try and put it on like a coat of emulsion dont they. They try and spread the varnish out all over your nail and then go over and over and over it with the brush and you end up looking like you've got a squashed strawberry on your toenails coz of all the lumps and bumps!

So what's everyone got planned for today? My only plans so far are to watch the Stenders omnibus, which is my Sunday ritual. Will probably have to do a bit of washing too but other than that, i'm doing sweet F.A.!

OP posts:
iris66 · 21/10/2007 12:20

sarahlou - you have my sympathy with the homones (I know everyone else is probably feeling it too and I'm just being a whingebag) and hope you've plenty of help for your move! I'm very impressed you can reach to paint your toenails by the way - mine look more like hooves pretty toes is one thing I really want post delivery

RGPargy · 21/10/2007 12:22

PMSL @ hooves Iris!!!

OP posts:
iris66 · 21/10/2007 12:27

Hi there RG - I'm still in bed I've been doing christmas shopping and am under instructions from DH to rest (so who am I to argue!) I paid dearly for not resting before having DS and thought (rather stupidly) that I could catch up once he was born (he didn't sleep through for 14 mths) so I'm making the most of this.

RGPargy · 21/10/2007 12:30

Hi Iris Sounds like bliss!! Wish i had instructions to rest!! Deffo make the most of it, you lucky thing!

OP posts:
iris66 · 21/10/2007 12:46

it's amazing how therapeutic shopping can still be over 'tinterweb

RGPargy · 21/10/2007 12:54

oooo yes i know. might have to do a bit of that myself very soon!

OP posts:
silkcushion · 21/10/2007 13:45

clip clops past RG and Iris with her pretty hooves

Had a pedicure last week but the effects are negated by my unruly muff hair!!! Luckily I can't see it but I just know it's really bad. If I don't deliver soon I'll look like I'm wearing woolly shorts

Rg - I have my dsc arriving any time now. Am cooking a late sunday lunch for them, DH and MIL. Shall probably fall asleep then and wake up just in time for strictly come dancing.
