Rg you genius . Wham bars, whispa, drifters... Must restrain myself. I'm particularly fons of Black Jacks as my school was literally next door to the Trebor factory and once a fortnight we would get these lovely aniseedy, sugary smells wafting through the windowm. Brightened up double maths I can tell you.

Choudru - I'm afraid the cheesecake is no more but I'm sure we'll find moe than adequate cake supplies when we meet. And as you are going to full term we'll have lots of time to eat lots of cake. YAY.

Berry . Sounds like you might have to a good foot stamp in your Doc's waiting room. You are entitled to proper care. Hope you mange to sort it.

As far as I'm concerned Christmas this year can go Bs !

Noticed today that I have lots of proper stretch marks. But hey, at least I don't have to worry about getting stretchmarks anymore!

Pixiefish · 05/10/2007 12:15

I never had a snowsuit with dd and she was a January baby- well I lie- I had one but never put it on her

RGPargy · 05/10/2007 12:22

LOM - that site is fatal! Over the last couple of days i've been munching on Swizzels Double Lollies and strawberry pencils. Got a box full of kola kubes, white jazzies, sherbert pips, bon bons, the works to get through yet!! I'm soooo gonna need that girdle!!

Stretchmarks - So far, touch wood, i dont have any new ones, only the ones that i had from DS all those years ago. Since then however i lost shed loads of weight and had a tummy tuck so i wont be surprised if i do get some again.

Pixie - was it just not cold enough to use your snowsuit?

littleoldme · 05/10/2007 12:32

Re maintanence of the lady garden - I find the occaisional pruning of vegetation rather a full on mow and manicure is more than sufficient.

I'm of the view that life is too bloody short.

DH did bring the matter up once. I suggested that he could ask me after he'd had his bits done. He never asked again

RGPargy · 05/10/2007 12:33

LOM - good answer!

littleoldme · 05/10/2007 12:50

Yes, when I want to make him cringe I just say , " Back, sack and crack wax." He gets most indignant

thelady · 05/10/2007 12:56

In all the second-hand stuff I've been given there are several snowsuits. However, what I want is:

this
or
one of these

Off to the clinic re possible GD on Tuesday. Sigh. I hope to get lots of advice on diet etc. from you lot....

RGPargy · 05/10/2007 12:59

thelady - the first linkie doesn't work but the second one does - so cute!!

Good luck with the GD thing!

thelady · 05/10/2007 13:07

OK, we try again at the home page which has an animation of the thing in use....

RGPargy · 05/10/2007 13:14

Awww they look lovely!!!! What a great idea!

thelady · 05/10/2007 13:42

I think I'll put that on my "If you fancy buying us something" list for the extended family. Things I'd like, but can live without, and which aren't silly money for a pressie either.

I want to have all the basics in place by 36 weeks as we're away on holiday for 5 days (whoopee) then and I want to be able to pack for a surprise arrival. Car seat, babygros, vests, nappies: that'll do.

fiona76 · 05/10/2007 14:04

Hi all it has taken me over an hour to read all the chat since last night. I sat here giggling- you guys really cheer me up.
I went to yoga to day for the first time- it was lovely and gentle and then finished with relaxation which was so good. i feel so positive about the birth and that I can do it naturally. Still haven't decided whether to go for a HB or not but think the plan will be stay at home as long as poss then go into hospital for a dip in birthing pool and no intervention if possible. Don't know if I can be bothered with hassle of having pool at home. Hiring, filling etc also my brother is living with us for until early dec when he goes back to NZ so don't think he needs to see me in labour.

Berrybliss- Make sure you write down your questions and make it very clear to who ever you are talking to your expectations for the visit. Eg 'I want you to tell me very clearly what these results mean and I want the time to digest the information and ask questions.'
Don't let them fob you off.
I've offen come away from appointments feeling as if i wished I didn't bother because they didn't tell me what I wanted to know and rushed me out before I could catch my breath.

swollen · 05/10/2007 14:22

Jossiejump - had not even considered something like that so will check and see. the joys of parenthood!
Thelady - so cute! would love one too.

can someone enlighten me about eating pineapple after 37 weeks? does it help nature along? i love pineapple.

DD2 is a real tomboy so we bought her spiderman pyjamas and have had 2 consecutive dry nights so here's hoping!

RGPargy · 05/10/2007 14:39

Fiona - good stuff re the yoga and feeling confident. I guess it's not an idea situation if your brother will be living with you for a bit. I have a teenage son already so i have pre-warned him that when i go into labour i'm booting him out of the house!! Needless to say he didn't object!

LK2boyzma · 05/10/2007 14:42

Hi all
Thanx to those who have responded abt my in laws' situation, The main problem here is that my MIL has a career back home and has a maid to help out with all the chores at the home! Culturally, a DIL is expected to run around for them (GRRRRRRRRR) which I do not mind when I am my old self but did not expect it to be that bad when they knew I was PG. Had to come from work and start from scratch, did not want to say much because we don't have much of a relationship anyway, so did not want DH to think I did not want them in the house. BUT, was texting my mum everyday. What I am planning is: if they do come next month, (and yes they live abroad), I will be on the plane to my mum's as well because there is no way I will be able to cope. (Its my second child, by the way)

Enough of sad news

I am all for a tidy garden but now I am not able to see what I am doing down there coz of my bump so will get DH to tend to it for me. He is allowed a few laps a week just to make sure he releases tension!! (blush)

RGPargy · 05/10/2007 15:08

Sorry to hear the about the cultural differences LK. Out of interest, where are they from?

PMSL re your lady garden story. Sounds very familiar!!!

LK2boyzma · 05/10/2007 15:44

RG - Southern Africa (not South Africa but some down south there)

I have decided to busy myself with the preparations for the new boy on the 23rd of Nov and will not allow this to get to me!

I'm sure you have given me some comforting words about labour in the past, and all the info from other pple too, I am a lot more relaxed now and am trying to 'check' my self into a birth center and it all sounds lovely. DH,DS and I are going to visit a birth center next weekend and the idea of an ensuite room post labour sounds good

I am off work in ten days time, A/L 1st then Mat LV (yay)

berrybliss · 05/10/2007 16:51

Hi all feeling much more positive today!

The MW was really helpful today and miffed at the lack of information and time given to me from the consultant. She has booked another appointment with a dfferent consultant for next Week. So hopefully i can get some answers and find out about my birthing options. Find out risks etc.

I'm still going to push for a HB if its safe. As i've got my heart set on it but if thats not possible i think i'll have a waterbirth at hospital.

I'm getting very excited now thinking that LO could be making an appearance in as soon as 4 weeks but then it may be up to 8....

Those blankets look really lovely and snuggly. I've got a few snowsuits as i'm not sure how big LO will be.

Hope everyones having a good Friday and looking forward to the weekend!

capecodder · 05/10/2007 17:04

I find that my BH's can be really uncomfortable and painful. Most of the books I've read (i know i should take them with a gain of salt, but...) said that they just feel like tightening- but not particularly painful. I am wondering how I will ever cope with labour if I am stuggling with BH's.

RG- re the snowsuits- I just found that once she was dressed in her vest and clothes and ten a little coat and then in her pram or car seat with a blanket over her she was warm enough. I won't be bothering this year either

KaylaBmummy · 05/10/2007 18:51

Hi All, Big Hello Just been happily catching up on the thread, lovely reading about what your all up to a present. I have had consultant on phone today, theatre fully booked to have c-section at 37 weeks, so it will be at 38 weeks which is only three weeks away. Not to dissappointed as least it gives LO another week to grow and these painkillers seem to be keeping pain at bay at momemt. Think I am looking at a date around 25th November . Getting really excited today that it wont be too long now.

Capcodder - Sorry to hear your BH are painful. Mine tighten and release continuously for a while and then as you say I get one or two that just take your breath away really painful. Everyone is different and their pain threasholds, but just to let you know I have had some really painful ones too so your not alone .
