Thanks @josiejo1990 I would do it all again for her xx

Magpie21 · 26/06/2020 13:14

Last hot day in June for us to endure ladies! Hope everyone is feeling OK today.

@josiejo1990 I keep imagining my waters breaking in the middle of the night, so you aren't the only one! 😅

UKtoSK · 26/06/2020 13:57

My best friend is also pregnant but 3 weeks and 2 days behind me. I’ve been joking with her for months that there’s a good chance she could give birth before me (it’s her second and my first). Well today she started having regular contractions and is now in the hospital on an IV to stop them as she’s only 36+4! Here I am at 39+6 and don’t even know if I’ve even felt any braxton hicks or anything...

Due date tomorrow! 40 week appointment in the morning, due for a cervical check and a sweep if it’s favourable. The calls from in laws have already started and if they don’t back off I’m going to say something. Just makes me feel worse and I’m not even “late” yet. Told my mum today how grateful I am that she isn’t overbearing like that.

Hope everyone waiting is coping ok.

josiejo1990 · 26/06/2020 15:03

haha @Magpie21 good to hear Grin

@UKtoSK we are due date buddies then Smile

just had two more contractions 25 mins apart though hope they dont tail off again but not holding my breath

39+6

josiejo1990 · 26/06/2020 15:56

yeah they stopped haha. I give up. just gonna chill out and stop expecting it to happen

peetieswie · 26/06/2020 17:57

41 weeks today. So jealous of everyone who has already had your babies. Come onnnnnnnnnnn. 😕

josiejo1990 · 26/06/2020 18:19

@peetieswie sending you birthing vibes! tonight tonight tonight! come on baby! Halo

Magpie21 · 26/06/2020 20:32

@uktosk how typical is that! It would seem that we have just made a very comfortable home for our babies! 😊 It's great that your mother is not over-quizzing you about these last few days! My mother is also quite relaxed and it makes such a difference.
Also, I'm the same as you - No idea if I have actually had a true Braxton!

@peetieswie I hope thinks move along naturally for you soon. My sister keeps reminding me that she had no signs whatsoever before she went into labour.

Cooler days are coming, maybe that will help us out!

BirdGarden · 26/06/2020 23:21

@peetieswie - just keep swimming, you got this! I was absolutely fine until I got to bang on 41 weeks then I did hit a bit of a wall with it all. I think the potential for pressure to sweep and induce etc got to me a bit. I did recompose by reminding myself that by 41 weeks there is only so much longer pregnancy is likely to last, baby has to appear in the near future (and went into labour the next day and she was born at dawn on 41+2 😉).

Cornishbumpkin · 27/06/2020 07:54

So unfortunately sweep wasn't successful on Thursday so I'm going for induction this morning to get this little stubborn man moving. Wish me luck Smile

41+5

NakeliP · 27/06/2020 08:07

Been meaning to post an update to say that baby Alexander was born in Monday, by spontaneous vaginal delivery (in the end!). He weighed 6lbs 3 oz. We came home Tuesday evening.
I was induced with gel and then moved onto the synto drip which was gradually cranked up to get my contractions more regular. Ended up all happening quicker than anyone anticipated, no time for pethidine or to carry out the episiotomy they'd number me up for. So I contracted and pushed with only gas and air and miraculously only came away with a small 2nd degree tear to internal vaginal wall (not where they'd numbed my perineum anyway). Recovery is going better than I'd expected, but breastfeeding is the new beast to deal with! Seriously, ladies if/once you have your baby and you're finding feeding tough, you are not alone! There's a massive support network out there so please reach out and take all the support you can. Xx

NakeliP · 27/06/2020 08:09

Forgot to say I was induced because my waters broke and nothing really happened over 24hrs later so induction is indicated due to risk of infection.
Waters broke on 40+3, Alex born 40+5.

Busylizzie85 · 27/06/2020 08:28

Congratulations @NakeliP 👶🏼

Good luck @Cornishbumpkin!

Magpie21 · 27/06/2020 09:00

@cornishbunpkin wishing you the best of luck! Just focus on the baby that will be in your arms very very soon! The midwifes will take good care of you Xx

@NakeliP Congratulations!! Sounds like you did really well in your birth x

UKtoSK · 27/06/2020 09:41

@NakeliP congratulations!
@Cornishbumpkin hope it all goes smoothly!

40 weeks today. Had appointment today. Cervix still posterior, a tiny bit soft and a tiny bit open... absolutely “not ready for birth yet” in doctor’s words. Wasn’t expecting much but still feel bummed about it. Doctor did attempt a sweep which wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, completely bearable actually, but I’m not enjoying the spotting. Feeling very teary today.

josiejo1990 · 27/06/2020 10:49

congratulations @NakeliP Smile

Good luck @Cornishbumpkin

I think I'd be ok with the wait if it wasn't for lockdown, especially when it's raining being stuck in the house with nothing to do is really making it drag. cant walk far getting major sciatica!

40weeks today

peetieswie · 27/06/2020 11:38

Thanks @birdgarden. My nct friend had hers last night and she was two days ahead of me so still holding out hope it'll come naturally soon! Had monitoring this morning and heart rate and movements all perfect.

Good luck @cornishbumpkin. 🙂🙂

peetieswie · 27/06/2020 11:41

Congratulations @nakelip. Sounds like a greet birth!

peetieswie · 27/06/2020 19:24

Think I'm in early labour! Feel weird movement down low and dog has been acting super clingy weird, and lot of fluid when I went to the loo. Fingers crossed this is it!!!

Missgemini · 28/06/2020 00:49

Hey ladies. It's so nice seeing everyone having their babies one by one. Congratulations to all

mrssunshinexxx · 28/06/2020 02:23

@Missgemini come on to the post natal June baby thread ? X

@peetieswie good luck!

Missgemini · 28/06/2020 02:58

@mrssunshinexxx oh yeah, of course!

Magpiefeather · 28/06/2020 07:22

Congratulations @NakeliP! Hope your recovery goes well.

How exciting @peetieswie! How are you getting on? Or maybe you are busy snuggling your newborn as we speak?!

I too thought things were kicking off last night. Regular tightenings - about 3 every half an hour, stronger than I’ve had before but still not mega strong. And some cervix sensation (not the same as lightning crotch, a bit like when I first got pregnant I swear I could feel my cervix moving and changing). Went for a walk to encourage things which worked and was lovely. Bounced on ball all evening, walked up and down the stairs sideways.

The tightenings kept up for about four hours until I decided I should go to bed, although I knew when I laid down they’d probably ease off (which they did). A bit disappointed but it MUST have done something, it really did feel like the start of the real deal. Also could feel baby moving further and further down.

Anyway I had a lovely nights sleep and this morning have had a couple of tiny niggles but not as strong as last night. Also aches radiating down my thighs... maybe that’s part of it or maybe it’s a side effect from all the walking and bouncing last night?!

I really really hope things ramp up today or this evening! Ready for you baby.

josiejo1990 · 28/06/2020 07:42

@magpiefeather I had pains through the night again as well, 2nd night in a row. definitely not imagined. not as regular as yours though maybe every half hour or hour. seem to have stopped now. yours sound more promising hope they really get going soon x
