@Busylizzie85 I’m only 36+5 but I’ve been feeling similar this week. I’ve not noticed any braxton hicks like tightenings but just that my bump is much firmer in general when I’m upright now to the point I can’t tell where baby is most of the time, it feels like she’s pressing against all of it at all times! I’ve also been getting really bloated and I guess gassy after dinner every night to the point it’s quite painful especially in the upper bump. Today it feels like baby has wedged something under my left ribs and every time I lean forward or twist slightly or take a deep breath it’s so uncomfortable. She’s not even measuring big so how much more uncomfortable am I going to get in the next few weeks???
It sounds like I’m complaining because, well, I am but I was thinking in bed this morning how exciting it is to be in the final month of pregnancy. It’s so surreal.

@umabb how are you getting on?

Someone else was having a section yesterday or today... hope it went well! I have a memory like a fish these days so I’m so sorry for forgetting who it was!!

umabb · 04/06/2020 08:25

Hey ladies, finally got a bit energy back and picked up phone. Little B was born last night at 23:30 ish 3.3kilo healthy happy and calm. I started to use the drips at 1pm ish after 3cm dilated but it wasn't developing fast enough. Slow process and fully dilated 11pm ish. I was having epidural when pushing so had no idea how hard I did and pushed him out within 10mins. Had nasty tear and still in hospital with baby. He’s doing great though xx

Oh @umabb congratulations and well done, he is absolutely beautiful! Hope you are recovering ok.

Magpiefeather · 04/06/2020 09:17

I am overjoyed - I managed to get some drops of colostrum out this morning!!!! Woohoo!!!! Didn’t have anything to catch it in as so far had been unable to get anything out so will try again tonight with a sterilised vessel handy.

Felt really odd yesterday, just strange and generally off it, like being light headed but all over. Also had slight swelling in feet and hands for first time. Feel like body has definitely turned a corner. Had a look at my journal from last pregnancy and apparently I felt exactly the same at this point, even down to the period type pains, gassiness, swelling and feeling weird. It did mean gearing up for birth but dd didn’t come til 41+1 so I’m preparing myself for similar this time.

37+4

MissisBee · 04/06/2020 09:17

Congratulations! He is gorgeous

Missgemini · 04/06/2020 09:27

Congrats @umabb The baby is so gorgeous! :) Please get some well deserved rest. Sorry to heat about the tear xx

Gigitree · 04/06/2020 09:33

You’re welcome @Busylizzie85 that’s the great thing about this little group! There’s always someone who can sympathise!

@Magpiefeather that’s interesting to know, I’ve been feeling a bit like that. Feet are constantly puffy no matter how much I keep them up and I’ve been having period cramps most days at the moment as well as the lovely gassiness 😂

Anyone else getting frustrated with how little they can do at the moment? It don’t have to do much before my lower back starts complaining. This morning I got dressed, went into the kitchen to make as smoothie and pottered around for maybe 15/20mins and then I had to stop because my back was killing me!

APD1981 · 04/06/2020 09:39

@umabb ahhh huge congratulations. He's so cute! Glad it all went well xxx

I've had no more pains since last night but I have just lost my plug. Seems like I'm a very, very slow starter. No dramatics etc. It's actually quite boring really!😂

Seventytwoseventythree · 04/06/2020 10:10

Hi everyone just checking in on the new thread. Congratulations @umabb ! Beautiful baby. I'm not feeling too bad (everything is better compared to horrendous first half of pregnancy) just quite heavy and tired. No signs of anything happening over here yet! Midwife later today. Hope you all keep well.

38+3

chocolate26 · 04/06/2020 10:28

@APD1981 that sounds promising if you have lost your mucus plug! I'm a bit unknowledgeable but does that mean that labour should start for you now? Keeping everything crossed for you!

UKtoSK · 04/06/2020 10:40

Congratulations @umabb!! He’s adorable 😍 hope you have a speedy recovery and enjoy all the cuddles.

@APD1981 sounds like you’re definitely gearing up for labour, hope it doesn’t take too long to properly start for you now.

APD1981 · 04/06/2020 10:43

@chocolate26 I'm not sure either as the info on google says it can mean it's imminent or it can still be days. I suppose it does mean my cervix has dilated a bit for it to fall out. If I am in latent labour like the MW said I might be yesterday, I suppose it's just another sign. Everything is so slow for me though! Seems to ramp up then just stops. It's frustrating as hell. I'm going to walk around my road for a bit now to see if moving around does anything. It's hard to stay active when you have literally nothing to do!

Blizy · 04/06/2020 11:00

Congratulations @umabb your little
Boy is perfect. X

@APD1981 I hope things start to speed
Up for you.

I had a scan this morning to check placenta function and blood flow, all good so far. Back again on Monday for another scan and consultant clinic, I feel like I'm living at the hospital these days!

SerBrienneOfHouseTarth · 04/06/2020 11:11

Just had my sweep. MW said it was very easy and my cervix is soft and doing what it's supposed to so fingers crossed. If nothing happens induction booked for Sunday.

@Busylizzie85 I've had the same for the last few weeks, my bump is mostly hard, to the point I got worried when it went soft! Regarding the bath, my trick is to roll round onto my front and push up onto my knees to get out! Not glamorous at all Grin

SerBrienneOfHouseTarth · 04/06/2020 11:13

Congratulations @umabb 💙💙💙

Millettmum · 04/06/2020 11:15

I've had wind for some time ha! Sound like such a classy lady when it's coming out both ends Blush
I find hoovering and standing washing the pots hurts the back of my pelvis.

The midwife asked me this morning at my appointment if DD1 was excited for the birth, obviously didn’t know that she had passed away in January, can normally keep it back but couldn’t this morning and the tears came x

Cornishbumpkin · 04/06/2020 11:42

@Millettmum I'm so sorry for your loss, I'm sure the midwife must have felt awful.

@umabb congratulations!!! He's beautiful

My bump seems to go rock hard when I'm standing, having intermittent lower back pain this morning, not sure if it's a sign of things gearing up or just a warning to rest more lol.
