Congratulations @serbrienne that's insanel!!

I had a sweep today that has done zilch! Cervix was closed but soft and forward. Couldn't do full stretch and sweep but just stimulated my cervix and absolutely nothing has happened frustratingly!! 39+3

@serbrienne what fab news! So pleased for you xx

My news is that I woke at 3am for the loo and was having some contractions. Went to the loo and had lots of pink fluid on wiping. Phoned triage who asked me to lie on my side with a pad on for 50 mins then phone back. Did that and the pad was covered in pink fluid. So, I've just come back as they wanted to check me over and confirm it was my waters. It was and I'm having some irregular, relatively mild contractions. So I'm booked in to be induced at 11.30pm tonight if things haven't ramped up naturally by then. As a FTM I actually can't believe I've got to this stage without intervention so far and 2 days before my due date. It's all a bit surreal!

Exciting @APD1981 all the babies are coming so fast now!
I can't believe due date is here and I still have no signs what so ever that she'll come anytime soon. I'm so uncomfortable walking with swollen legs and my tummy is so stretched and tight. All I want is her safe delivery now Smile

Good luck with the sweep today @Missgemini ! To those that have had sweeps did they hurt? I'm dreading to have one because of a bad experience I had with a procedure they did to flush my tubes (fertility help). I'll do it if needed but hopefully not!

Congratulations on your baby boy! Hope you're getting some rest @SerBrienneOfHouseTarth

Happy due date @Busylizzie85 ! I don't have any signs of labor either 😞 I need to motivate myself to get up and moving today. Prob do some exercises and cleaning.

@APD1981 so exciting! Good luck today!

Has anyone been able to get colostrum out of one side and not another? Since I’m 37 weeks tomorrow I just had a go, not to collect anything but just to see if anything would come out, and I got some from the right but not the left.

@SerBrienneOfHouseTarth wow that's super quick! Congratulations!!

My sweep on Wednesday at 40+1 has done nothing.....no change to discharge, not really noticed any my period like cramps etc. Think I'd got my hopes up a bit too much! Felt like we spent the whole of yesterday just waiting and feeling a little disappointed ....be prepared @Missgemini @BabyBird20 @BusyLizzie85 !! Sorry if that sounds negative and really hope it brings your babies to you ☺️ I've got another tomorrow so just hoping the combination of both plus being another few more days along starts things off.

@APD1981 how exciting! Hope your day continues to progress positively and you're snuggling your baby very soon x

40+3

@uktosk I’ve tried a few times and I can usually get the tiniest drop out of one side but pretty much nothing out of the other, I don’t know if the more you do it, the more that you’ll start to get, but each time I try I don’t seem to get anymore.

Wow congratulations @SerBrienneOfHouseTarth amazing news!

@Rinoa I found the sweep quite painful. It just felt more intrusive than expected. But saying that, it only takes about 1 minute and really is over before you know it, so compared with some ivf procedures I had previously, not so bad. It also depends how favourable your cervix is - mine wasnt at all so a lot more painful. I think if its lower or already thinning it's not supposed to be too bad.

@sarahlounich I'm the same as you. Dont think sweep has done much. Had some bleeding and fell about bloat like my period about to start but def no contractions or anything. Got another today so will see if it did anything!

Congratulations!! (tagging on here is such a nightmare I gave up). What a quick birth, great job!

Good luck to those being induced or c section today. So many babies coming!

I'm team yellow. We both think boy but lots of people guessing girl that we know. I really wouldn't be surprised either way though, it's a guess not that I have any idea. Husband would like boy. I'll be outnumbered by husband dog and baby if its a boy, so a girl would be nice to even it out a bit!

38 weeks today. No labour signs. General aching but nothing in particular. Still worried about bump being huge so hoping bump will be no bigger at appointment on weds. Not been offered a scan despite being off the scale huge. Other people seem to be offered scans all the time.

@SerBrienneOfHouseTarth congratulations!

@Mj2196 good luck with your section today and I hope your OH packs what you need in your bag for you

@APD1981 how exciting! Fingers crossed things progress well today. I'm still experiencing the mix of back pain, cramps and hicks. Yesterday wasn't quite as active but I did have another session of really strong ones at 3min intervals around 11pm last night, which is the latest for me, but still nothing.

We had a surprise last time with our toddler but yeah, somewhere at the end we both said we had the feeling it was a boy and he was.

@NakeliP I'd like to have sweeps this time if things don't progress naturally but only really because in 2 weeks it will be my MMC baby's 1st birthday and I'd really like her to be here for that, rather than worrying about going in to labour then. With my other 2, I didn't and the first came at 39+4 and the 2nd by induction at 40+13. I've not heard of sweeps pre: week 40 tbh. It seems that different trusts have different rules, which I don't understand. And last time, because I wasn't a first time mum, I wasn't offered one until week 41. I'm hopeful they'll let me have one next Tuesday at 39+4 if things haven't happened just in case things need a little encouragement. I think, if I didn't have this 2 week deadline in my head, I wouldn't bother yet and just let her take her own time, no matter how much frustration and discomfort I'm feeling.

I hope everyone's sweeps, inductions and c sections go well today.

@rinoa mine wasn't pleasant but definitely manageable. Had to use some deep breathing whilst he was trying to get through my thoroughly closed cervix but didn't last long. And I'm a bit of a wimp. Definitely more vigorous than a smear and lasted longer but I could easily talk to him at the time. Cervix soft but closed so he tried to stimulate the putter area which seems to have done nothing. Although woke up in the night feeling sick - but that may just be the curry repeating on me.

@BirdGarden woohoo on finishing work! I don't know how you've kept it up so long! I've been off 3 weeks already and it feels like I can barely achieve anything any more! 😂😂

Definitely already having my share of 'hows it going' messages like I would've forgotten to mention if the bay had already arrived! 😂😂

@BabyBird20 I know! Like you aren't going to tell people unless they ask! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mother in-law was convinced it was kicking off yesterday because I was so crampy, sick and woozy. Did get some regularity in the evening but didn't tell anyone and it's gone away overnight again. I bloody love being right 😂

Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone. I walked my legs off yesterday as I really wanted to see if it'd get things going. Seems to have worked. I've been contracting fairly frequently since last night so it'd be great if I managed to get them closer together and stronger. Will try and be active today but I've had 2 hours sleep and will probably be up most of the night tonight so don't want to overdo it. Also, having contractions every 10 mins or so makes sleep a bit difficult at the mo!

I forgot to mention before that my DH can come with me and stay with me for the induction as I'll have my own room. Woop! Got to take everything with us, including the car seat, as he can't leave once we're there but I'm so glad he'll be with me the whole time. I was tested for Covid and get the results tomorrow.
