Hi this thread is for any first timers or anyone really who wants to chat about their imminent arrival and general lack of idea of what to expect!

I realise that there is already an October thread but there seems to be quite a few people who have come a bit late to join in the discussion on there. Hope this doesn't offend anyone

Hey everyone, colly - happy birthday, hope you have a lovely day!, JoJo - sorry to hear about your rash, what a bummer after everything else, hope it gets better soon, you're a real trooper to put up with all you have lately!
41+4 here, can't balieve i've still not given birth, actually got quite tearfull about it this morning, really thought with having until mon i would have a good chance of naturally going in to labour before then but with just one full day to go it looks unlikely still having a bit of a show now and again but nothing more, guess i'll just have to accept it looks like induction. Anyway hope everyone else is doing ok, catch ya later

MrsJoJo · 28/10/2007 04:55

Hi ladies

Collywobbles - hope LO doesn't keep you waiting too much longer! You must be getting frustrated!

I don't feel like I've been suffering too much of a nightmare recently but said to hubby last night that I've finally had enough (not bad as I've hardly grumbled throughout my entire pregnancy). Still itching like mad - plan to go back to the hospital tomorrow although from what I can see the only way to stop itching is to agree to be induced (PUPP otherwise known as PEP in the UK does seem to be the most likely culprit).

Had a very quiet day yesterday, plan something similar today although I'd do anything to take my mind off the crazy itching I've got. Might try to kick start things a little earlier than I'd planned so I don't get too desperate and agree to an induction I really don't want - planning to try clary sage bath, reflexology & possibly accupuncture... Don't think hubby is interested in any action right now - hasn't been near me in weeks.

Hey everyone. MrsJoJo, hope your natural induction methods work for you, must be so annoying to be itchy all the time, fingers crossed for you. Hope everyone else is doing ok. 41+5 here and nothing at all happening, tried nipple twiddling again but didn't work so resigned myself to being induced tomorrow, i've had enough now and accepting i'll be induced is easier than spending every minute hoping to go in to labour before then. Just gonna preapare myself mentally for it and try to stay positive. Gonna veg out today and try yo relax. Hope everyone is doing ok today, catch ya later

WheresMyWaistGone · 28/10/2007 14:21

Hello all

Gosh what a lot to catch up on and how inconsiderate of them to change the way the boards look - most confusing in our pre or post natal states of mind!

I feel I have missed lots so congrats to the other new mums, and keep going to those of you still waiting!

Finally turning a corner after a week of painful stitches and HUGE feet, but Mum went home this morning (min 4 hours away) and DH (read the 'D' sarcastically please) didn't make the last 24 hours nice - totally ruined the trip to buy the first baby boy clothes and then threw a fit last evening and locked himself in the spare room and wouldn't come out till Mum had gone. So feeling very teary and low...

Anyway, love to all.

xx

Collywobbles · 28/10/2007 17:21

Hi Guys

still on a bit of a high from a really lovely birthday yesterday, which has spilled over to today as well loads of friends popping round throughout the day to drop of cards and prezzies - lucky me!

Dal - GOOD LUCK! Thinking of you and your induction. Good to hear your thinking positively. It sounds a bit cheesy but I'm convinced that plays a big part in deciding the kind of experience you will have.

WMWG - poor you! Sounds like 'D'H has decided that one baby in the house wasn't enough for you! Hope you make up soon and sending you hugs in the meantime!

Jo - I'm not surprised you've had enough. I've found I have good days and bad days - some days I feel really tired and emotional and like I can't cope and then for no apparent reason, I feel absolutely fine the next day - like I can tackle anything! Damn hormones...Hope you feel better soon.

xxxxx

Dalrymps · 28/10/2007 23:28

Oh i have been having irregular stomach pains for last few hours and just had a bloody show, maybe something will happen before i'm induced after all? don't want to get my hopes up though but will keep you updated if anything else happens

Collywobbles · 29/10/2007 09:25

I'm so excited for you Dal - can't wait to hear an update! I'll be thinking of you till then and keeping everything crossed for you

I'm now 41 weeks and am trying to resign myself to being induced on Saturday so that if anything happens before then, it'll be a nice surprise!

I'm having a lazy day today - it's amazing how tired I felt last night after a weekend of visitors for my birthday! Just a bit of clearing up to do and some online grocery shopping then it's a good film on the sofa for me!

Hugs to everyone - have a lovely day!

MrsJoJo · 29/10/2007 10:08

Dal - hope you were able to avoid the induction and things happened normally. If not you must be well on your way to meeting LO.

WMWG - Men! Have a sneaky feeling my DH will behave in a similar fashion - he's mostly being OK but not great or even that supportive. Told me off for moaning last night - would understand if I'd moaned for 9 months but its only got too much in the last few days.

Col - 41 wks... Hope LO doesn't make you wait until induction, at least you seem to have the right attitude!

As for me, well had another itchy night waking up practically every hour scratching myself raw. Doc has confirmed its PUPP and only 'cure' is to give birth. 40 wks tomorrow so I know it could be any time now, plus started leaking a bit yesterday but no show or any other sign. Not tried to get anything moving yet but my patience is wearing thin (and I'm normally a VERY patient person - you need to be living in Thailand!)

Totally fed up - its like I've rolled in a bed of stinging nettles and nothing will calm the itching.

Hope everyone's doing OK

That's how it started for me Dal - hope this is for you!

Dalrymps · 29/10/2007 13:36

Hey there, just popping in before we drop the dog off at PIL's and set off to hosp. still getting pains but not in a regular enough pattern yet to be ready to go in to give birth, called the midwife ans she said to go in for 5pm anyway and they will assess me to see if i still need inducing or if i can just be left to it so we'll see. Hope everyone is doing ok and that some of you pop soon! will let you all know how it went when the lo is here

WheresMyWaistGone · 29/10/2007 16:00

Hi All

Dal - good luck!

Don't forget all that you don't HAVE to be induced if you don't want to and they will have you in for regular monitoring, which was going to be my choice if it came to it, which it didn't.

'D'H doing well and cooking, washing etc etc but it just feels too late. I don't know if I can forgive him.

I keep crying.

Sorry to be so down at this exciting time for us all. All will be well I'm sure.

Take care of you all and the bumps and babies.

xx

MrsJoJo · 30/10/2007 03:11

WMWG - try to keep your chin up... I'm fully expecting to feel isolated & blue and I know its horrid when you're down there - don't be afraid to ask for help from your health visitor. We might be busy at the moment but we're all here to suport you.

My DH seems to have finally realised something big's about to happen (like he's not noticed I'm the size of a house or been awake in the few antenatal classes I managed to drap him to). Last night he asked more questions than he's managed in 9 months and then asked to see where all the baby stuff has been stashed - at least he's trying, I guess its hard for men when all they can see is their partner getting bigger and bigger and more and more uncomfortable.

Hope everyone's OK

Morning All - 41+1 and still nothing..

WMWG - you sound really down poor thing. Don't forget your hormones are bound to be all over the place at the moment as well as the fact that you're probably sleep deprived and you've just had a MAJOR change in your life. With all that, it's not surprising that you feel all over the place. It's good that your DH is pitching in - let him do as much as poss so you can get some rest and start to feel like yourself again! Things WILL get better! (You need to remember all that to tell me when I'm suffering the same problems after having my LO!!!)

Hi to everyone else - can't wait to hear news from Dal and Kitti!

Collywobbles · 30/10/2007 12:48

WMWG - have you been on the Oct 2007 post-natal thread? There are some lovely ladies on there who'll be going through similar experiences and emotions to you at the mo and may be able to offer some advice and support! It's always nice to know you're not the only one

It's just called October 2007 - The Golden Piglets Have Landed...or something like that anyway! I'd copy the link for you but can't seem to make it work!

Or feel free to tell me to mind my own business!

Collywobbles · 31/10/2007 11:24

Where is everyone??

MrsJoJo · 01/11/2007 09:31

Still here - this October mummy is going to be a November one instead!! Now 40+3 and no signs of any movement.

Not logged on for a few days as there's work going on in the apartment above us and the noise is directly above our pc. They appear to have finished for the day now so its peaceful again.

Seeing the doctor tomorrow morning for a non-stress test, the dermatologist for some more medication which is helping the dammed itching and then popping up to see a friend who's laid up in the hospital because her waters are leaking and she's only 33 weeks.

Hope everyone's ok and coping with whatever's being thrown at them right now

WheresMyWaistGone · 01/11/2007 21:45

Thanks Colly. Yes the hormones are a mare and as you say, it'll all get better...fingers crossed.

Sleep is up and down but he's such an angel, I forgive him everything in the morning!

Anyway - keep going everyone, and as always, thanks for your support. I'll try for a more coherent post soon!

WheresMyWaistGone · 03/11/2007 21:55

Hey!

Where is everyone?!

Are there any more babies?

I hope that all Mummys are ok and I'm guessing the lack of posts is due to lack to sleep and time!

Love to everyone!

Hi all

Congrats to everyone else, hope everyone okay, will catch up as soon as can but at moment concentrating on trying to get some sleep in where possible

Dalrymps · 05/11/2007 01:26

hey everyone, just to let you know my lo arrived, went to be induced on 29th and after 2 prostin tablets had been inserted i went in to labour without having to have my waters broken on the morning of the 30th. It was really painfull on my back as lo had moved back to back even though he'd been in the perfect position forever he decided to move at the last minute! Dh helped greatly by rubbing my back through every contraction. Managed with gas and air and did request pethedine but then by the time the midwife sorted that out i was ready to push and decidd not to bother with it as it wouldn't have taken effect in time, lo's head born fine but he had his arm up so i tore as his body came out, was a 3 degree tear, didn't even notice though and was stitched in theatre straight away. Dylan is absolutely amazing and was totally worth it, weight was 6lb5oz. Been getting to grips with breast feeding over last few days, was quite difficult at first cause he was sucking hard to get the colostrum and my nipples got sore even though he was latched on properly, got some lasinoh nipple cream though and persevered and is getting better all the time, especially now my milk has come in. Hope everyone is doing ok, catch ya later

WheresMyWaistGone · 05/11/2007 12:39

well done girls!

i had a 3rd degree tear too but had to wait about 6 hours to get a theatre slot...

enjoy your lo's!

Stefka · 05/11/2007 19:15

Hey just trying to catch up - congrats to all who have had their bambinos - do come over to the Oct post natal thread. It's pretty busy but jump in and hopefully I will see you there.

I am still finding feeding hard, going to try and keep going through. Hope everyone is well.

MrsJoJo · 09/11/2007 05:10

Hi ladies

Going over to Oct Post Natal thread now...

MrsJoJo · 09/11/2007 05:20

Sorry... Probaby being a bit dippy - where's the postnatal thread??

BTW - had baby Izaak Brendan by emergency c-section last Friday. All got a bit scary - went for my non-stress test and although he was fine it turned out the PUPP had caused pre-eclampsia and they couldn't whip him out quick enough.

Recovering now, had to give in and get a nanny for extra help though as no chance I'd be able to think about leaving the apartment for next six weeks otherwise.
