saw the MW today but she wouldn't listen to the heartbeat. Said it's hard to hear and if she couldn't find it I would be more concerned. I guess she's right but it's a bit of a shame but nevermind!
hope HQ found the antihistamine - someone should do a list on mumsnet of approved medicines for those moments of emergency.

I didn't find the antihistamine, but the swelling is not so golf ball sized now so I figured I'll see how it goes this evening and call dr tomorrow if I still look deformed

Don't take my word for it, but I think that chlorpheniramine (spelling?)is the same anti-histamine. Ask your doc for next time!

Feeling marginally better thank you. Definitely not sore throat just a filthy cold, I think. Yuk, yuk, yuk, ended up taking 2 paracetamols yesterday otherwise I think I would have just sobbed for hours, if I'd had the energy that is! I'm finding creme caramels to be very soothing Better not tell DD as i bought them for her!

nothing much going on this end. I have a bit of a cold, which has been creeping up for a few weeks now. My normally iron-like constitution couldn't seem to shake it off. Oh well.

Autumn has definitely come here, it's quite cold today.

well i was a dirty stop out last night and didn't even get home until; ten thirty then i stayed up for a snack and went to bed at gasp eleven.

i can beat that merry, at the weekend i stayed up till 1am not out on the town unfortunatly but watching series 3 of lost (so addictive)

I have a stinking cold too! Rubbish time of year, air conditioned big office and germs on the tube, ick - hope my pathetic immune system can at least fight some of the winter bugs off.

I've been using 4head for my headache as I find paracetamol useless and it seems to do a fairly good job. Not sure if it is just because it makes your head so tingly that it distracts you from your proper headache though

Turtle - I gave in and bought a doppler about two weeks ago and I love it! Trying to stick to doing it every couple of days so I don't get too obsessed. Have been lucky so far and have always found the heartbeat within seconds but can imagine it being a bit of a worry if it can't be found!

What is it with the weather at the moment? The weekend was lovely, managed to top my tan off at the footie, then this morning its freezing cold and I've put the dsd's back in vests. Even thinking about switching the heating on

Woke up this morning with the left side of my face feeling pretty awful, and lo and behold I think its the start of a nasty cold. I've had to take some parecetamol this morning too glamma. Normally I'd be straight on the cold and flu remedies. Nevemind.

Suppose I'd better do some work today. Catch with everyone later. x

sorry everyone has a cold - I too have succumbed and my usual strong being has flopped totally - glands up, head screaming and temperature raging. Luckily the office say they don't want me so I@m in my pj's watching crappy tv. Am really envious of the doppler things going on....a day at home with ebay at my finger tips may result in a little package being delivered...but no, she shouts. i will hold back....won't i?!?

Colds? Me too! I thought mine might be due to the fact that I forgot to bring my vitamins on holiday- and I do feel much better having come back and started taking them again.

Chicken soup anyone? I was in the pickle ailse at the grocery store the other day and was nearly drooling at the jars of gherkins, beets and other weird pickled things! Is this normal?

I thought about getting a doppler but haven't yet. Keep trying my egg shapped heart listening thingy from Argos every few days to see if it finally works but it's wishfull thinking as the instructions say it should work from 20 weeks, so 3 more weeks to wait. Should have saved my money and bought a doppler. Mean midwife wouldn't let me hear the heartbeat last week either. Boo.

Lost S3 so addictive. Can't wait for S4, but it's not good for your blood pressure cause it makes you very angry at the them writers for not giving anything but more questions. Very frustrating.

I think someone mentioned about the NCT's nearly new sales and I checked the website and found out there are a couple coming up.

For Lewisham and Greenwich it's on Sat 6 Oct from 11-12.30
For Soutwark and Lambeth it's on 29 Sep from 11-13.00

Has anyone been to these NCT sales? Is it any good?

Also is anyone planning on going to the Baby Show in Earl's Court on 19-21 Oct?

Have signed up for hte meeting in october, very exiting to actually see people.

Is anyone else still feeling sick? I am 14 weeks today, and think I SHOULD be feeling better!!!!
