will sort pics tomorrow and talk more then i hope, just given ds bath and am going out with some local mums for dinner, god bless my babysitting all day dp!

turtle23 · 06/10/2007 18:55

Yes, thank you to all for a lovely day. I just got in and am still thinking of fuzzy lollipops myself...so soft and yummy!
derah...what were those nappies called again? Losing my mind. Bimbles? Bumbles?

derah · 06/10/2007 20:43

Hello ladies

Lovely to meet Merryberry, e14mum, marchmum, turtle, Glammamma, Brazillianmum, Pinkmartini and Tori. Hope the nappies weren't too confusing! Turtle, they're Bimbles and Bumbles.... Bimbles are the little ones and Bumbles are the bigger ones. If you're after bamboo, like the lovely soft Lollipop, don't just look at Lollipops for them, most nappy sites do bamboo and there are lots out there. Flamesparrow (to be found on the nappy board) runs a shop through MN and she has lots and lots of bamboo.

Hey, if you liked the lovely soft bamboo nappy, I suggest you look out for bamboo blankets. I got one from BabiesRUs for my friend when she had her little boy a month or so ago, and they're brilliantly soft and snuggly. My DD and my friend's DD were both fighting over it all afternoon! I'm definitely getting one for the new baby.

It would be great to meet more of you closer to Christmas...

merryberry · 06/10/2007 22:01

I uploaded 2 cake related photos just now: will need help tagging the group shot!

MarchMum · 06/10/2007 22:15

lovely to meet everyone today! also in love with a bamboo nappy....

turtle23 · 06/10/2007 23:16

tried to do some tagging for you, but two of them refused to stay on the right people...grr.

OP posts:
merryberry · 07/10/2007 08:39

blimey that was tricky. i've been tagging people's arms, the air above their heads and their laps trying to get enough space between tags for them to operate. But MarchMum still seems to be a bottle of water half way down the table from herself...sigh

monthlymayhem · 07/10/2007 12:10

Hello

Lovely to see a photo of all you meet up ladies!! So, can you fill us in on who is who from front to back on left hand side and front to back on right-h-s?

Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely sunshine today!

Yesterday I thought I should take the plunge and start looking into prams. Went to John Lewis and their nursery advisor was really helpful. We came to the conclusion that the Silver Cross 3D sounded best for us (which coincidentally my Sister in law has bought too!). Has anyone got any good/bad experience of these??

turtle23 · 07/10/2007 15:02

oh, the tags don't work if you're not signed in!Left to right is:
Brazillianmum, tori32, e14mem, glammama, turtle23, marchmum, derah, pinkmartini. Merryberry took the photo, we'll have to have her in next time!

OP posts:
derah · 07/10/2007 17:18

Brazillianmum got the waitress to take a picture so hopefully if she gets that up for us to see then Merryberry will be in there too.

Poor DD isn't very well. She's got a horrid cough and has just been sitting watching CBeebies all day with her dummy in. She hasn't eaten a thing. Not like her at all. Hope she feels better tomorrow.

e14mum · 07/10/2007 17:49

Just popping in to say how nice it was to meet up yesterday.

Hope everyone's well.

glammama · 07/10/2007 19:44

It was lovely to see meet up yesterday. A big thank you to Marchmum for organising the table and letting us all lie on your lovely sofa with our bellies out, and to Derah for the nappy demo ( hope your DD gets better soon). Also to Turtle for the loan of your fab gadget.

Ok, now I've finished sobbing at x factor. (Go Beverly!) I'm off to get the dinner ready. Have a nice evening all.

glammama · 07/10/2007 19:45

oops, see everyone at the meetup. And I blinking proof read it!

tori32 · 07/10/2007 21:40

Hi ladies! I've just got back from the meetup!( just kidding!! ) Got in at 2110 last night. Ended up getting the tube to Paddington and then train to Slough, then drove home.

What a lovely day, thank you all, especially Marchmum, Derah and Turtle. For the use of flat, nappy demo and doppler!

I hope we can meet up for perhaps an afternoon xmas party, that would be good.

Hello to everyone else on the thread, will catch up tomorrow.

turtle23 · 08/10/2007 09:21

You may all think I'm mad, but let's sort a Xmas do out now. Things will get very manic soon and if we know when we're meeting now we can turn down those other Xmas do's!
I think if we are going to have more people than the other day (which I hope we will!) we should find somewhere we can take over a whole room as it was impossible to hear anyone, and we'll all be a bit bigger by then!
So...any suggestions for venue? Let's get it sorted! (Sorry for being bossy!)

PinkMartini · 08/10/2007 09:21

Hello everyone
What a lovely afternoon! Great to meet you all, and just echoing huge thanks to MarchMum, Turtle, derah and MerryBerry for the use of flat, doppler, the nappy demonstration and books respectively!

To everyone else who didn't make it, hope to see you at the next one - maybe nearer Christmas?

I am feeling lousy this morning - it's really cold and I want some tea but my morning cuppa came right back up again (sorry tmi) and I am feeling rather pissed off about it.

imjin100 · 08/10/2007 09:43

morning all, sounds like you had fun on saturday - glad to hear!
So much to catch up on - can't so will just say welcome to moop and 3madboys will be thinking of you this week. You are our first I'm sure for the scan and I'm a little nervous for you! I'm sure it will all be well and how exciting to be seeing your little person again. Not sure what your due date is but my scan isn't for another three weeks I think and i'm due on 1st March (or february 29th she whispers!)
GOOD LUCK
and good weeks to all - hope claphamlauren youre ok....I once cracked my coxyz (which I never did learn to spell) a few years ago and it was agony - I hope you're feeling ok.

preggersagain · 08/10/2007 10:22

sounds like the meet-up was a great success! i would love to come to the next one but as i'm in the depths of wales it doesn't seem likely unless i happen to be visiting my parents at the time !!

Everyone seems to be more positive now and we're all on our way to 20 week scans- and halfway through!!!!! Mine is 1st November so a fair few of you will be going before me! I will be having extra growth scans at 28 weeks and 32 weeks then 36 weeks if i get that far as its identical twins (risk of twin to twin transfusion etc) so i am lucky to be seeing my beans a few extra times

On the pram front quickly, the silver cross 3d is fab but very heavy- i wouldn't reccomend if you will be having to fold it and carry it anywhere- ie up stairs and suchlike. Also be aware that there have been problems with people damaging it by 'bunging' them in car boots- because they are so heavy you have to almost fling it in and it lands quite heavily- some have had bent chassis etc- easily sorted if the retailer knows about the problem

e14mum · 08/10/2007 11:10

Good morning!
This thread is getting v. big- anyone up to starting a new one? Does anyone else find it only loads up half-way sometimes?

I need a bit of advice- I've been waking up with sore and aching hips for the past 2 days, and today it isn't going away. Am I worrying over nothing, or does this sound like SPD?

Someone on the tube this morning offered me her leaning-spot! Not quite a seat, but v. kind of her!

Brazilianmum · 08/10/2007 11:51

I had a great time on Saturday. thanks to Turtle, Derah and Marchmum.

I have my next scan on 17 October, can't wait. Wish it was sooner.

DP met me and some friends later in the day. He spent Sat afternoon watching the rugby and then went to a friends house. When he met me at 21.00 I asked if he had fed the dog. He said he forgot. What kind of father is he going to be when he can't even look after a little shih tzu. Before you all call the RSPCA on me, the dog always has a bowl of dry food in the kitchen, but he gets hot food in the evening. Spoilt little thing.

Hello everyone

sorry I missed your meet up and would very much like to come to the next one. I am coming up to the 20 w scan soon and will be glad to get to it!

Having had a couple of m/c's and some pain and stuff this time - I find myself worrying about every twinge - went to London yesterday and did a fair amount of walking - had a tight feeling, can't describe - maybe like stomach ache? Anyone else getting this sort of thing?

Moop

merryberry · 08/10/2007 16:20
