I didn’t have any growth scans but Coralie weighed 5lbs 12.5oz when born at 35+5

Emmacb82 · 25/04/2020 19:48

@november90 ouch 9lb 4! I’m really hoping for a more straightforward time this time round. Ideally I’d love to be home the same day but I’ve got to have a drip etc afterwards so not sure how it’s all going to work.

november90 · 25/04/2020 20:22

@Sunshine8888 that's quite a good weight for that gestation isn't it!
The thing with growth scabs is that they measure bone and not necessarily chub so it's anyone's guess really 😬
I've been told I'll be monitored for 24 hours as I've got strep b so I'll be in at least one night!

GinUnicorn · 25/04/2020 21:48

@Sunshine8888 my first was 5.2 on her due date so that’s a great weight. Apparently current baby is measuring 5lbs now at 37 weeks so hopefully will be at least 6 when born.

facevalue · 25/04/2020 22:40

@itsybitsya oh babe. you are going to be just fine. induction is just artificial hormone to start a vaginal birth so it's just timing - you will be monitored and looked after- i'd rather just have my baby already- the wait is nerve wrecking xxxx will wait for your news at the edge of my seat xxx i would love some happy endings to cheer us all up

@november90 omg - forceps are my irrational worst nightmare so i refuses induction when i never went into labour with my DD because they said on the consent you could need this and c section was still a possible requirement - i freaked out and said no to induction at 41+ 3 so they had to give me an elective C sec. i am very bad with anxiety and my pain threshold is very low🤪 in simple english i'm a freaking Coward 🥺😩

Lu1u · 26/04/2020 08:28

@itsybitsya good luck for tomorrow! I'm sure you must be so anxious but I have heard so many positive induction stories so I will have everything crossed for you and hopefully you will be holding your baby very soon x

Lu1u · 26/04/2020 08:30

Bump has definitely dropped some more over night, my tummy is now all squashy at the top and have a bit of a tummy ache but probably all those ligaments stretching as he is moving down! But I am going to go for a long walk this morning just incase 😂

GinUnicorn · 26/04/2020 09:37

Good luck itsybitsya!

I can’t believe it’s getting so close!

november90 · 26/04/2020 16:28

Oh gosh girls I've got period style pains today and feeling super emotional! I also saw a little robin and I always seem to find them when I need them! I just have a feeling 😬😬😬 I'm gonna get my mum to do my roots tonight just in case 😂

november90 · 26/04/2020 16:29

I missed your earlier comment @itsybitsya lots of love and luck for tomorrow lovely!!! ❤️

itsybitsya · 26/04/2020 17:48

Thanks everyone, starting to get nervous now, can't believe it's all going to be happening tomorrow - by this time she could be here !!! Eeeeeeeek

Emmacb82 · 26/04/2020 18:23

Good luck for tomorrow @itsybitsya how exciting.

Think I might have started losing my plug, no other symptoms and I know it can happen weeks before labour but it’s making me nervous!

CharlieB93 · 26/04/2020 19:10

@itsybitsya good luck! How amazing you’ll have your baby in your arms tomorrow!

For the past couple of days I feel like I can’t walk/stand... it literally feels like the babies going to fall out of me 😂 it can only be a good sign right? 🤦‍♀️

facevalue · 27/04/2020 00:19

@itsybitsya please try to sleep so you have energy for the next stage x it's so so exciting that you will soon have that baby in your arms x try not to worry and just go with the flow ( with a diary and take selfies etc to share later with loved ones) x hugs

I must say I had a good day today- these are rare! but I felt calm and went for a long walk without huge amount of pain- any ladies struggling because of pain i will say please give yourself permission to tell your significant other- sorry i can't do this that etc - respect the process and that your body needs to start to take it easy. i told my hubby i will do as much as i can but i now know that lifting and bending aggravates my pain so he's in the loop. he looks shattered but i'm carrying a baby inside and my health and well-being is directly linked with how good a host my body is for this baby ( so he knows i will not be doing bath bedtime for next 4-6 weeks) i will help with everything i can do and he just has to believe that i will not take advantage or take the piss- this is a purely unprecedented situation where He is literally our only support and caregiver until i have the baby and recover. this lockdown seemed to have shown ppl at their worst and relationships surviving the lockdown will forever be strong i think x please all try to be kind to yourselves and show kindness and love to all ( even the randoms in the streets or through your windows) x

sao81 · 27/04/2020 04:06

@itsybitsya good luck!! I am so excited for you to finally have your little baby in your arms 💕
@Emmacb82 @november90 any more signs for you two?
@CharlieB93 it sounds like baby has engaged! I've felt the same and when checked they said fully engaged, just hoping he stays that way!
@facevalue I'm glad you're feeling abit better, and its good that your partner is being so supportive it doesnt half make a difference to your frame of mind having that help!

@sao81 I feel like my tummy really has dropped now so I just have a feeling it'll be anytime but still holding out for a May baby! Attached a photo for opinions as to whether it looks like it's dropped or is it wishful thinking? Also is anyone else looking as large as me? 😂
I've been getting very mild period style pains all day/night... nothing major. Maybe it's just the baby's head engaging?
Anyway gonna nip to Sainsbury's tomorrow when it's quiet and get the last of my bits as I feel like I don't have enough sweets! My hospital have said that my mum can come with me but as soon as she's On The ward she cannot leave so it's not like she can nip to get me anything if I desperately need it 😬

Raindancer411 · 27/04/2020 07:31

@november90 My bump looks like yours and I am 37 weeks tmw.

CharlieB93 · 27/04/2020 08:00

@sao81 ohhh could that be what it is? It feels like loaaaads I’d pressure ‘down there’ and a little bit painful! I’ve not seen the midwife for a week so I wonder if it is the baby’s head engaging! 😱

itsybitsya · 27/04/2020 08:12

Morning ladies, today's the day, just rung the ward to get my time slot and I'm going in at 9.30.

So so anxious now - barely slept !

sao81 · 27/04/2020 08:14

@november90 it does look low, you are so neat though! Mines all over the place 😂
@CharlieB93 it does sound like it! I felt like I had a water balloon that needed to pop when he first moved down it was so weird!

OP posts:
facevalue · 27/04/2020 09:56

@november90 looking at yours then maybe mine dropped too 😏.

itsybitsya · 27/04/2020 10:53

Am hooked up to monitors about to be examined to see if they can break my waters, the consultant and registrar are just discussing whether to do pessary or gel if they can't break the waters - all very real now !!

helpasisterout · 27/04/2020 11:20

@itsybitsya good luck for all that is to come so excited to hear how you get on! Try and get some rest of that is even possible now! X

november90 · 27/04/2020 11:28

@itsybitsya oh my goodness this is so exciting!!! I hope everything runs smoothly for you ❤️ It won't be long now!

itsybitsya · 27/04/2020 11:36

So cervix is very much closed for business, pessary is in, they decided against the gel as i labour too fast and the pessary is gentler.

I'm allowed to move but I'm not allowed to leave the ward

Just waiting on my lunch now lol all very surreal
