@Purple29 congratulations! So glad to hear you are both doing well. Take it easy and hope you are both home together soon 💙💙

@Pastnowfuture my baby measured off the scale a couple of weeks ago, I had a growth scan and baby was on 50th centile for all measurements so I wouldn't worry too much! Fundal measurements can be way off

@Purple29 - congratulations! I'm sure labour at 30 weeks came as a shock.

I'm now on maternity. With the whole corona thing I'm not sure whether to go out and about as much. I need to go to the main town ideally to get a few bits sorted, thinking I should go tomorrow before anything closes down. (not in the Uk, I'm fairly close to Italian border so several checks and restrictions here already).
I'm hoping this doesn't affect any hospital care over the next few weeks. My GP has given me 1litre of hospital-grade hand sanitizer, and will apparently move to giving me home visits between now (almost 33 weeks) and 37 weeks if needed.
Doing some gardening today as feels semi productive

AlmostAlwyn · 11/03/2020 10:41

@Purple29 congratulations! Hope you are both doing well Flowers

Moongirl10 · 11/03/2020 10:58

@Purple29 congratulations! Is this your first baby?

Pastnowfuture · 11/03/2020 11:11

@sao81 Thank you. That is reassuring to hear Grin

CharlieB93 · 11/03/2020 12:20

@Purple29 oh my what a shock! Massive congratulations- did you just give birth naturally at 30 weeks then?! (Secretly thinking sh*t I better get organised 😂) hope you’re both ok!

Purple29 · 11/03/2020 12:40

@moongirl10 yeah this is my first baby!! @CharlieB93 yeah, no explanation for it. I woke up with very slight cramps, within an hour they were pretty intense and I phobed the midwife, told to come in and he was here an hour after that!! We are in the middle of moving house!! But me and him will be in hospital for a while yet so sure it will all be sorted. I'm trying not to worry.

Hes doing great and that's the main thing.

He was 3lbs 5 so still a good weight for his term!!

Thanks all for the well wishes. X

woollycat · 11/03/2020 13:00

@Purple29 congratulations! Very glad you are both doing well. First baby of this thread, yay 😍

Emmacb82 · 11/03/2020 13:03

@Purple29 wow congratulations! What a shock. Glad you are both doing well.

@facevalue there is potential that I could go off earlier, but I am going to struggle to survive on Mat leave financially as it is so I really don’t want to go early as it would mean i would be back at work before the end of the year. I will play it by ear and just see how it goes.

Sunshine8888 · 11/03/2020 13:18

@May2311, I finish on 3rd April using up annual leave first like you. Can’t wait!! Also I’ve had the health visitor round, she just went through various baby related topics and gave me some info on free antenatal classes. Just went to the first one today, it was ok but I find NCT a lot better!

Oh wow @Purple29, what a surprise that must have been! Glad you and baby are doing ok 💙

AlmostAlwyn · 11/03/2020 15:16

Had another appointment yesterday and everything looks great! Still head down so that's good news Smile Regularly running out of steam in the afternoons though so if I don't nap with my toddler then my eyes just end up closing on the sofa a bit later! Still getting the occasional headache but not as intense as they were before. A hot shower usually helps!

@purple29 wow that must have been a big shock for you! Hope you are both doing ok and are getting all the care you need! Xx

Raindancer411 · 11/03/2020 17:41

@Purple29 Wow that is scary!! I am 30+1 today!! That is a good weight, Bless him. My baby is measuring small at 2lb 15 at the moment and I cannot imagine how small that looks!!

sazzlerazzle · 11/03/2020 22:14

Oh wow @Purple29 that’s incredible! Well done you, hope you and little one are well, do keep us updated. Congratulations ❤️

Moonstone12 · 12/03/2020 00:40

@Purple29 huge congratulations 💕 so pleased to hear you are both doing well. Xx

Had my growth scan today. I'm 32+3 and she's estimated at 5lb 1oz! She's gained 3lb in 4 weeks.... got to do some blood sugar monitoring to see if I have GD but they don't think I do. Fingers crossed I don't tbh! I love food 😂
Next scan in 4 weeks and back under a consultant now because of growth.

Also was my dd2's 14th birthday today. So I'm feeling old lol.

Xx

123Pandy · 12/03/2020 07:49

@Purple29 congrats!! Glad to read that both you and baby are doing well 😊 must've been quite a surprise!

haileenka · 12/03/2020 09:49

I also had blood tests for GD last Saturday but everything is ok :)
According to the scan my little one is (was at the time) 4lb 6 so not as big as midwife thought will be Grin
I'm 32+2
I love food too but since January I've got massive heartburns and last days I've been throwing up everyday because of it Confused

sao81 · 12/03/2020 11:15

How is everyone feeling today? I keep getting stomach cramps so having a day in bed whilet my little girl is in nursery
@haileenka glad to hear your results were ok, i suffer really bad with heartburn the only thing that eases it for me is milk!

So Italy has now closed all shops apart from supermarkets and pharmacies. If the UK is 3-4 weeks behind Italy in terms of the Coronavirus outbreak (like many seem to believe) then I think it's time to finish off baby shopping!

sao81 · 12/03/2020 13:10

@woollycat there's going to be a big announcement today I think we will be on lockdown too. NI already said all schools to be closed 😬

mrsf1204 · 12/03/2020 13:42

@purple29 wow congratulations! Best wishes to you both and fingers crossed that you are home soon!

Is anyone else suffering with itching? All over my legs I am so so itchy. I've mentioned it to the midwife who has passed me to the GP who has passed me back to the midwife... I feel a bit fed up an anxious to be honest. I'm being told it could be a reaction to the iron tablets I have been put on. But I can't shake the feeling something is wrong and I'm not being listened to?

mintbear · 12/03/2020 15:32

Hello ladies

I'm 33wks and the est weight for the baby is 6lbs, I'm literally off the scale, next scan in two weeks time. They might bring the section forward, looking at mid April atm.

PGP is getting worse, luckily I have hydrotherapy sessions at the hospital once a week which really helps. If you get crutches my advice would be just embrace them, they do help with the pain, it's just not an overnight fix.

I'm still sick everyday but accepting that its not going to change this late on!

Re the tummy pains people are getting, it might be your stomach muscles separating, I've got it at the bottom of my bump where they attach to the pelvis but you can also get it at the top, right by your ribs. I've got some huge stretch marks going on, still putting oil on but I'm not convinced it helps at all.

Massive congrats @purple29 that's amazing!!!

I too am eagerly awaiting the update from the government today, if you've not already id recommend reading the guidance for pregnant women and midwives that was published this week.

I've been going through waves of panic but I've been managing that by getting fully prepared, just the bag left to pack!

AlmostAlwyn · 12/03/2020 16:00

I live in Czech Republic and the government has announced a state of emergency this afternoon. I was supposed to be visiting family in the UK next week but looks like my flights will be cancelled. I was in two minds about whether to go, but I guess that's that now! All schools are already closed, no groups of people larger than 30 allowed... Who knows if something similar is coming to the UK! There are fewer than 100 cases and no deaths so far, so they're going in big for prevention.

@mrsf1204 perhaps if you mention you're worried about cholestasis they might listen more? Do you have any other symptoms?
www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/itching-obstetric-cholestasis-pregnant/

Been having heartburn as well, though quite mild I think! It's unusual for me. I didn't have it in my first pregnancy at all. Chewing gum when I feel it coming on seems to help a bit though.

Baby was measuring around 4 lb 10 on Tuesday - apparently on track to weigh around 7lb 11 at birth. My son was 7lb 14 so we'll see! Smile

woollycat · 12/03/2020 16:18

When is this big announcement supposed to happen? I don't think I have read anything about it - too much news these days, easy to miss things!

haileenka · 12/03/2020 16:24

@woollycat read earlier that it's going to be between 4.30pm and 5pm today
